Barbara from Genshin Impact is Autistic!

Here are some pieces of trivia to do with Barbara, and how they correlate with autism!
• Barbara has a special interest in music and idol culture! She dedicates a lot of her time to studying music as she strives for an idol career.
• She has high empathy for those around her!
• Barbara stims! She stims physically when she dances, often swaying her arms up and down, as she practices her dance routines. She also does auditory stimming often, humming tunes that she’s practiced when happy or focused.
• Her singing compositions were first thought of as ‘strange’ by the people for being so different, but they soon grew to love Barbara’s songs, as well as her company!
• Barbara sometimes speaks bluntly, which causes her to come off as rude to others unintentionally! (“Albert, would you stop, please! You’re completely out of tune!”)
• She strives for perfection and can feel anxious at the thought of people criticising her songs. Often, when she performs, she is fixated on faces in the crowd, worrying if anyone ‘appears disinterested’.
• Barbara is known to have motor difficulties. She was said to be very clumsy as a child.
• Barbara has been told that she is ‘too trusting of others’. This could be because Barbara struggles with understanding non-verbal cues.
Of course these aren’t all of them, and may not be applicable to every Aspie! I just love Barbara because she has a lot of traits similar to mine.
Barbara is such a sweet, kind and dedicated character! Here’s to hoping she gets more development and interactions with the other characters!
