Home sick and decided to watch one of my favorite Downton episodes. It doesn’t get much better that S2, Episode 8. Matthew and Mary giving into their feelings for one another as they danced to “Look for the Silver Lining” is one of the best scenes I’ve ever seen on any screen, big or small. Performance by DS and MD stellar as was the camera work.

Seeing it all these years later still knocks me off my feet.

This was Downton at its best. How I miss it.

In the Downton Abbey fandom, we don’t say “I love you”; we say “You are my stick”, which roughly translates to “I can’t stand to be apart from you” and I think that’s beautiful.
