“Dramatic” isn’t always a bad thing. New York-based designer Todd Edward Ivins was praised for the drama, elegance, and ingenuity he brought to his scenic and costume designs for Michael Pink’s Mirror Mirror in 2014. You may have seen Ivins’ work at The Rep where he has designed scenery for Ragtime, Clybourne Park, Assassins, Next to Normal and both scenery and costumes for Cabaret and Othello.

You could say “Dorian Gray” Lighting Designer David Grill is “outstanding,” as he has three Primetime Emmy Awards for “Outstanding Lighting Direction” for his work on the Super Bowl Halftime Shows and Olympic Opening Ceremonies. In addition to working with rock stars and athletes, Grill has worked closely with Artistic Director Michael Pink for 15 years, creating everything from the still beauty of Odette’s cove in “Swan Lake,” to the looming danger of The Count’s lair in “Dracula.” He’s back to set the mood for “Dorian Gray,” premiering Feb. 12 at the @pabsttheater. In addition to his Emmys, Grill won a 2015 Telly Award for the Lighting of the Opening Ceremony of the Caribbean Games. This week we’re introducing you to members of his creative team, beginning with longtime collaborator, London-based composer Philip Feeney. Feeney penned the scores to Pink’s most popular ballets, including Dracula, Peter Pan, and Mirror Mirror. What’s the key to Feeney’s success? Apart from over forty scores he has composed for Ballet Central, Feeney has collaborated with many different choreographers including William Louther, Jane Dudley, Christopher Gable, Michael Pink, Didy Veldman, Michael Keegan-Dolan, Derek Williams, David Nixon, Adam Cooper and Sara Matthews.

As a pianist, he has worked with many companies, including Northern Ballet Theatre, the Gulbenkian Company, Birmingham Royal Ballet, London Contemporary Dance Theatre, Rambert Dance Company, Carlos Acosta, Adventures in Motion Pictures, White Oak Project and the Martha Graham Company.
