Hey so on my honeymoon I went back to Venice. And since the only thing I love more than Italy is JJBA I made sure to stop at the historic site of the White Album battle. Because yes it is all based on a real location in Venice!

So first of all, The Road to Venice is SR11, Ponte Libertà, a long bridge that connects the floating city of Venezia to the main land.

If you take this road into the city you find yourself near Piazza Santa Lucia, in front of the Venice train station, where the climax of the battle occurs.

Now, one thing I want to point out is that the sculpture that Ghiaccio destroys to find the disk IS in fact a real landmark in Venice, but it is actually located on the other side of the city, in Piazza San Marco.

I suspect the reason Araki did not draw the actual statue that stands in this spot is because it is the Virgin Mary, and there might be some issues with having a villain smashing up a religious figure, especially in Italy.

Now, that lampost makes for a better photo, but this is the one where Ghiaccio was actually killed. You can deduce this based on where he is in relation to other lamposts and the canal (although my photo was taken from the opposite side as this screen grab). Here it is! Ghiaccio’s final resting place! RIP bb, you deserved better.

There’s your lil fun factoid of the day! Bless my husband for taking my photos and shouting “do a Jojo pose!” In a crowd of people. Apologies for not matching up the angles/compositions of the shots better. I didn’t think to do a side by side comparison until after the fact. Maybe next time!
