water. it's cold. you can't feel your hands anymore, can you? there is the faint pressure of something, some sort of burning. can you feel yourself getting eaten away? water does not forgive, in any way that matters. it is vast, unavoidable. it can be pretty, alluring, but there is a deadliness under its surface. is that not you, too? you pull people under, as many as you can, if they dare walk too close to your surface. i don't believe it is malevolent, but it isn't kind. you have not given them a choice, you have never given them a choice. it was always about what you needed, wasn’t it?

" the questions don't bother her at all by now— kanan's been probed enough times by now about her unusual outfit that it's just something she's come to anticipate hearing about when meeting someone new. but seriously, could it really be that weird ? she wouldn't mind donning something like this as casualwear ... nobody understands her !

i'm like maybe i should revamp kanan's personality entirely and make her closer to fanon but who knows. maybe there is a place in the world for autistic kubrick stare girls.

i thought about it some more and she will be retaining her autism girl swag but will be a little friendlier and nicer... she's based off the heroine of a popular shounen after all, so i don't think her current aloofness makes much sense orz.

aimi is sitting very quietly while meicoomon gnaws on her scarf. she is suffering™️ but too polite to say anything. help.

the discomfort is written plain on aimi's face,  so without a word,  kanan walks up to the two of them and  ( gently! )  hoists up meicoomon.

“  stop,  that's rude.   how would you feel if i started chewing on you?   don't think i won't,  ”     she chides,  and then just as gently,  sets the creature back down.   she turns to regard aimi for a moment.

“  …if something's bothering you,  you should say something.   digimon don't always understand our boundaries,  but if you explain,  they usually listen.   don't just sit there and let yourself suffer.  ”

V-mon gives Kanan an egg...

...it's actually a chocolate egg with a toy inside.

“  oh,  is it for me?   thank you.  ”     carefully accepting the gift from v-mon,  she inspects it for a moment.   somehow,  she recognizes the wrapping—  it's one of those little candies,  not a real egg.   kanan smiles at the little digimon,  grateful.

“  it looks good!   do you want to share?   how about this: i get the chocolate,  you get the toy.  ”
