I’m so tired of people in America and the rest of the world taking away the meaning of the Cuban protests just to throw shit at the other side of the political spectrum.

AMERICA, THIS IS A HUMAN RIGHTS CATASTROPHE, NOT A TOOL FOR THE LEFT AND RIGHT TO USE TO FURTHER THEIR OWN POLITICAL AGENDA!!!

Cubans are dying. Hospitals and their healthcare system collapsed a long time ago. But because you have communist sympathizers on the left in the US and those with the widest reach of audience are also on the left, left leaning people are NOT SUPPORTING CUBANS.

You campaigned for BLM, you campaigned for Palestine, you campaigned for SA survivors. What’s the issue now? Because Cuban protests destroy your suppositions about the paradise that Cuba is? Why won’t you help Cubans? STOP SHIELDING THE DICTATORS.

Let me be crystal clear. The US government’s embargo is but a fraction of the problems that Cuba is facing. The problems come from within the country. IT IS THE CUBAN GOVERNMENT, THE COMMUNIST PARTY, THE FALSE PROMISES, THE LIES, THE CORRUPTION, AND THE INTERNAL EMBARGO THAT STARVES THE PEOPLE THAT IS TO BLAME.

You have people on the left blaming mostly or solely the US embargo rather than the Cuban government. You can be on the left and still support people’s fight against tyranny and communism/socialism. Listen to actual Cubans. Don’t believe in the propaganda. I’m begging you please, help us. Help us the same way you helped all the other oppressed people. Reblog and share.

This is out of the blue! I am Afghan and I am currently living in Afghanistan. Today (15 Aug 2021) the Taliban entered the capital city of Afghanistan which is Kabul. The government is going to change to an Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. They ruled in Afghanistan for 5 years, 20 years ago. I've heard stories about them since I'm 19 and luckily was not yet born. And let me tell you the stories were terrifying, but they were just horror stories to me and I never thought that I'd be living under their regime, but here we are.

Let me tell you something shocking: girls can only study up to 6th grade. The future of female students in universities hasn't been decided yet. According to what I've heard they go from house to house and ask for girls and women (12 to 45 year olds) for marriage.

As they are just pieces of crap, I don't really believe that they'd let us have mobiles or use the internet. I really hope this isn't my last post in here! But if it is I want to let the world know of what they've done and what they're doing.

As the Taliban entered the Afghan capital of Kabul on Sunday, university lecturers gathered their female students for some final goodbyes. Telling the shocked young women “we may not meet again,” the lecturers, along with everyone else, were evacuated, and the universities, along with schools, offices, and shops, were shuttered.

I spoke by phone with Aisha Khurram, one of those students whose academic dreams have been cut short. There are thousands more like her. The 22-year-old is in the final semester of her international relations degree at Kabul University. With just two months left, she says, “now it seems I will never graduate.” Her monograph was on United Nations Security Council reforms and how they’ll affect special missions in countries like Afghanistan. Just one more thing the world will be deprived of now the Taliban is back in power.

In Herat, the country’s third-largest city, which fell to the Taliban on Thursday, girls who showed up at their universities were turned away, Khurram says. “The education system is collapsing.”

There is, however, one business that is booming. In the provinces, burqa shops are reopening and the thick, blue garments that cover a woman’s body from head to toe — the repressive symbol of the Taliban’s previous rule — are becoming an expensive, must-have item. Though not for everyone.

As thousands rushed to the airports to flee from the Taliban, many held onto the outer fuselage and the wheels of the airplane out of desperation to leave Afghanistan. From the video, it looks like they died or, at the very least, are in critical condition.

Please, please, keep spreading awareness to what is happening in Afghanistan. Put pressure on your governments to accept Afghan citizens within your borders and, if you’re from the Middle East, do the same and put pressure on your leaders to help Afghan people.

We must unite on this issue. Let us not bring politics or point fingers; we can do that later. Please, let us focus on getting as many Afghans out of the borders as possible.

If you are a person who is reffered to as a minority and/or has been oppressed and you come across another person undergoing oppression, if your thought process instead of helping is "hmm I don't think these people will help me in the future so why should I help them", just know you are no better than your oppressors at that moment.

This whole idea that you should only stand up for something / someone when it benefits you and not because it's the right thing to do is what has gotten the world in this mess in the first place. The oppressed exist because their oppressers see them as nothing more than a means to an end. They dont see people as actual humans with lives, they look at people like business deals.

And you are doing the same thing. Why are you stopping yourselves from doing good because of a few bad people?
