you and tanjiro did not get along in the slightest.
you both have known each other since he joined the corps and since then he feels like you’re constantly on his back. most would expect you to be just as kind as the love hashira, but you are the complete opposite.
despite him constantly (attempting) to be kind to you, you’ve always been stubborn about accepting him as a demon slayer. you boss him around, and use your higher ranking as a reason to do so.
he tries to see the good in you of course—you can be kind—but he had trouble,
he’s noticed a change in you…a great one. usually it was like you were always against him, but things have changed.
you have started to defend him. anytime shinazugawa spouted things at him, calling him a traitor and his sister a liability, you have been there to call him out.
“they are here for a reason. if nezuko was truly dangerous, he’d be dead along with her.”
obviously you said it in your own unique way, but still defensive.
you’ve even gone as far as to take hits for him. in the most recent mission he had with you, he let his guard down just for a second.
the demon nearly caught him, just for him to turn around and see you bleeding from the impact.
thoughts of you berating him about acting weak race through his mind whenever he doubts himself...you make his heart pound harder than any other.
the way you act towards him, towards his sister and his situation…
perhaps…there’s something there that wasn’t there before.
