today i helped put on a fundraising bike ride event for suicide awareness and yesterday i was hired on for a freelance marketing gig and i’m 16 days sober from alcohol

i feel alive for the first time in awhile and i’m trying to soak it all in

#personal #in my last post i commented on doing this without therapy #meds or psych unit visits #then I realized i should definitely be seeking out resources to talk to someone #first session down and it felt really good & necessary to be back

there are people in your life who will never see any effort you make as good enough and you have to realize this and direct your efforts to people who value you instead. so many people have this problem with family members--endlessly trying to justify their existence to a parent, grandparent, cousin, whoever--but you will literally never win, because a person constantly putting you down and dismissing you has their own unresolved issues and that's not your responsibility to fix
