so you can shoot a black child in the back as he's running away and get away with it with zero consequences, but god forbid a black child defend himself, because that'll land him thirty-five fucking years in jail—which is basically a life sentence. half of his life will be over when his sentence is up. all the fake talk of progress in this country has just been a way to silence black people for speaking out against the countless horrific injustices we're forced to experience, from microagressions to outright murder. you literally cannot go a day without hearing about another black person falling victim to systemic racism and then having to listen to people justify why they deserved it. and we're supposed to hold no animosity whatsoever as we grin and bear it.

Battle of Bamber BridgeJun 24, 1943 – Jun 25, 1943

On this day in 1943 black American soldiers faced off with white American Military police during World War II on British soil. Yes you read correctly black American soldiers had to fight their own white American soldiers, while in England, where they were fighting for the world.

Why? Because the English town of Bamber Bridge in Lancashire was not segregated so they treated the black soldiers like all other races, aka blacks were free to eat, drink anywhere, BUT back in America segregation of blacks and whites still existed. So essentially the American army went to someone else’s country and demanded they adopted America’s racist practices

So when the American Military police found out that their own black American soldiers were drinking at the same pubs as white people they went in to arrest them. The people in the town got mad about the treatment of the black soldiers and decided to then turn their pubs into “BLACKS ONLY DRINKING PUBS” the very opposite of what was taking place in America with their WHITES ONLY businesses

.Of course this pissed off the American military so guns went blazing, and when word spread back at camp that black soldiers had been shot, scores of men formed a crowd, some carrying rifles and by midnight more American military police arrived with a machine gun-equipped vehicle, so the black soldiers had no choice but to get rifles from British stores while others barricaded themselves back on base, so now it was American white soldiers versus American black soldiers. This lead to the death of one soldier, injury of 7, and 32 convictions.

Back in America the battle was hushed up because they didn’t want the country to find out that they were fighting their own soldiers which would anger the black population and weaken the morale in the country.Y

I took over 20 screenshots this episode just of his face because Boss' acting has LEVELED! UP! and the further we got into the episode the more delighted and excited and deranged I became!

We started here. The difference between how this Cir looks at Phu and how our Cir looks at him is night and fucking day. Cold and warm. Indifference and love.

Our Cir isn't even looking at the real Phu in this scene, he's just looking at flashes of him, but his face is filled with so much warmth and concern that it actually hurts.

During the scenes in the hospital, it struck me just how well Boss was doing at portraying Cir's "memory loss" but there's something else there. He's not just confused and annoyed, it's like he's completely detached from everything that's happening.

And we see it over and over.

When he's interacting with Lukpear.

When he's talking to Rome.

When Tee is scolding him for being a dick to Phu.

Even when he's asking Phu if he's okay and talking to him about the relationship they have.

He's been a dick, yes, but not with any genuine hostility (except for the interaction he had with his mother and Lukpear). He shows curiosity, confusion, some interest here and there, but otherwise? Completely detatched.

Almost like everything he's experiencing is happening to someone else.

Because it is! All of this is happening to someone else BECAUSE THIS IS NOT OUR CIRRUS AND HIS FACE WAS TELLING US THE ENTIRE TIME!

Our Cirrus is fighting for his life in a padded room while Dark!Cirrus looks on with all of the answers!

This man here is another person entirely! And god I really wish I could show the way Boss' eyes start to glaze over while Cir is getting this incredibly vulnerable confession from Phukan.

THOSE ARE TWO! DIFFERENT! EXPRESSIONS! I'm not insane I promise, really look at his face.

His eyes are dead! He feels absolutely nothing about what's happening because IT IS NOT HAPPENING TO HIM! THIS IS A DREAM!

AND YOU KNOW WHAT'S CRAZY?

You can see him coming back online in real time.

Go back and watch that scene, it's like the confession and the farewell fucking rebooted him. It's incredible.

SLOWLY AND THEN ALL AT ONCE, BAM OUR CIRRUS IS BACK!

And it's such a testament to Boss' skill as an actor that he's in fucking profile and you can STILL see how completely his face changed when Ponytail!Cirrus woke up!
