THE CITY IS ALIVE AT NIGHT, it’s bustling still even at the darkest hours of the in-between-morning-and-night. to yunmi, seoul is prettier that way, with the silence of the people living their own stories but still manages to make a city feel alive with indirect interactions and meaningless talks. or maybe she loves the way she feels like she doesn’t have to do much to fit in a city that’s not quite home, but not an entirely strange place either. a cigarette butt is squashed under her foot and she places her hands in the pocket of her coat. wandering around seoul late at night is therapeutic, it’s a habit she never stripped herself away off starting when she was a petty teenager.
she turns on one corner where the convenience store should be, but what she sees instead is a creepy guy, probably in his late thirties, following around a girl she’s seen in the company building a few times. immediately, yunmi’s blood boils. without even thinking twice, she approaches the girl and links her arm around the girl’s. “ babe, sorry i’m late! are you okay? “

so here are some few stuff about yunmi ( which i’ll add to her bio later when i finally get the chance to stop being lazy ). so her bio includes mentions of the following ( dysfunctional & broken family, bullimia, also mentions of substance abuse )
she’s responsible and even without the leader label she definitely acts on it whenever something important comes up and she makes sure that the girls are all in check. yunmi doesn’t fancy calling herself a leader though, she just really wants to keep things nice and ordely.
chaotic. she has a lot of inner issues that’s completely left unopened and she doesn’t know how to open up about them so yunmi always results to joking about stuff she shouldn’t really joke about.
as a child, yunmi always thought that she was going to get the love she always wanted from her parents. she’s a charming girl, adored by a lot of people too, and it made her think she’s never going to run short of it.
but then her mother left and her dad closed off and... well that’s the start of her turning into someone else beneath the charming and bubbly exterior.
at twelve, she became a trainee for another company, yg to be more specific. however, yunmi had been tossed to the side, always reminded that her other trainees are prettier, more experienced, and therefore would be most likely to debut before her. this was the start of yunmi’s inferiority complex and self-esteem issues that never really went away.
she stuck to yg though, but the longer she was there the longer her issues started to deepen. she never had a proper conversation with her dad anymore, only talking to him about bleak and pointless things and never the serious struggles of being a trainee.
the stress got so bad that she started stress-eating, and throwing up everything she ate right after because she couldn’t ruin her body. she knows just how fucked up she is on the inside, hence the desperation to keep herself looking the best from the outside.
she had been fifteen when she started underage drinking, it became a habit, a bad one so to speak. she’d go out with the older trainees to chill bars who never asked about her age and she would drink until she’s drunk enough to pass out. she discovered cigarettes a year later too.
at 18, she left yg after being in a new girl group roster for too many times and always never getting to debut. she came to join so!ar as a new trainee, but not a new person. she still has her old habits from before.
when she came to so!ar, she’s already a top trainee. the six years she spent in yg definitely paid off because she’s up to par with most of the debuted idols in her new company.
her habits are still around though, despite the validation from fans and her groupmates. she’s just hiding them that well due to her idol status.

wanted connections / plots:
exes. yunmi definitely flirts around, and even gets around when she’s on the mood. she tries her luck at making serious relationships, hoping to finally get the love and care she’s seeking from other people, but she’s too scared of commitment to push through.
ride-or-die, genuine friends. she’s a work in progress, but not a bad friend. in fact, yunmi is actually one of the most caring friends one could ever have. she does not hesitate to make efforts for friends nor does she hesitate on taking care of them. her friends are most of the reason why yunmi hasn’t spiralled completely.
friends with benefits. probably a product of yunmi’s aversion to commitment. there’s attraction there, but certainly not enough attraction on her part to warrant a more serious relationship.
enemies / rivals. yunmi came to so!ar as a top trainee already after spending six years in yg’s dungeon despite being on par with most rookie idols her age. tension could have risen when a new girl group will be formed and there’s hot debate on which girls would be added to the roster.
