Slow-cooking chicken at 150F is perfectly safe. You use higher temperatures in a conventional oven because the interior temperature of the meat is going to be considerably lower than the air temperature of the oven with such short cooking times, but if you’re slow-cooking something for hours and hours inside a closed vessel, the meat’s interior temperature basically matches that of cooking vessel after a while. An interior temperature of 150F is more than sufficient to kill anything nasty that might be lurking in poultry, at least if you hold it at that temperature for a couple of hours.

(The reason some buffet food is a food poisoning risk is because they hang the heat lamps too far from the food, and only end up holding a temperature of around 120F, which is cold enough for some food-borne bacteria to survive.)

The commonly cited 165F figure for poultry is a recommendation based on a set of worst-case-scenario assumptions about how the meat is being prepared. It just gets treated as a magic number because nobody wants to get sued; in practice, 150F is fine if you know what you’re doing.

Noir detectives are actually meant to be stressed, it’s their natural state. A Noir detective with nothing to be stressed about, will quickly revert to a more highly stressed state than normal.

Noir detectives require stress to be healthy, that’s why it’s a good idea to make sure that an Inside Detective has access to regular difficult and alarming cases to solve and also a shower they can stand in (fully clothed or not) to agonize, since they can’t go out in the rain. Don’t be alarmed if they bang their little fists on the tile and howl, that’s a normal part of the display. If they sit on the floor and cry, though, they may be overstimulated and need some hard alcohol and a nap to help them settle down.

I think it’s important to make clear that Robert Rodriguez, the director, says that Spy Kids and Machete are alternate universe versions of each other , while Danny Trejo, the actor, says that what happens in Machete is just what he does when he’s not hanging out with the kids
