We cannot sweep this situation under the rug any longer - be aware that is has been for so long in the first place. Human beings were NOT designed to process oppression. On all levels it is morally and ethically WRONG, and there is no “right” way to deal with continuous trauma... because it shouldn’t be continuous, nor should it EVEN EXIST, to begin with! . I understand seeing the news, witnessing the actions of racism, and having your eyes opened to the issues of your peers (of color) is scary, frightening, and disheartening. But this “unwanted uncovering” is EXACTLY what needs to happen right now. And we need to pay attention to our leader’s (Trump’s) response: a parent hiding in a closet (shelter) while their children (hate to use that term) are crying and banging on the door. .
