I keep looking at this and thinking about Team Bonding Scary Movie Night
Welcome to my brain:
âNo no heâs right behind the door look out -â
after I saw Book of Mormon, I was kind of upset, because I realized I could never be a part of that production because there is literally no place for white females; there are white men, black men, and black women. I was upset because I loved the musical and its message so much that I wanted to be able to perform in such a production. But then I got over it, because I realized that this is how black women feel all the time. Until recently, Annie had always been a little white, red headed girl. Elphaba and Glinda are always white, even though Elphaba is green. Elle Woods is a preppy blonde, white girl. Grease takes place in the 1950s, a time of racial segregation, so thereâs no way any of the main characters would have been black, and the same goes for Little Shop of Horrors. Youâre a Good Man, Charlie Brown is based off of the original Peanuts characters, none of whom were black. Many female characters are written for white women, and those that arenât specified are often played by white women: the cast of 13, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Into the Woods, Beauty and the Beast, The Wizard of Oz, Dear Edwina, the list is endless. Is there any reason why Patrice in 13 shouldnât be black? No. Itâs just not how it has been done. So when a musical comes along with parts written specifically for black women, I will not whine about my inability to play that part. Instead, I will stand behind the scenes and be a part of the tech crew, supporting a wonderful cast. I do have privilege being white, privilege that I never saw before. Even in an environment that is more accepting that most, the theatre does still cater to this privilege. And I refuse to be ignorant to it anymore.
if i ever fall asleep on you, you are 100% allowed to take a picture of us both
This is important.
But you arenât allowed to post it anywhere unless I look cute.
exactly, needs approval before social media posting, BUT if you wish to secretly take one and not mention it & send it to me one day with thoughtful words, I could care less how bad I look you are winning in my book.

Have you ever felt a potential love for someone?
Like, you donât actually love them and you know you donât, but you know you could. You realise that you could easily fall in love with them. Itâs almost like the bud of a flower, ready to blossom but itâs just not quite there yet. And you like them a lot, you really do. You think about them often, but you donât love them. You could, though. You know you could.
My god the accuracy of this statement
