I wish we could gamify social change! Like have an app that lists different challenges like “Email your senator with this template about Gaza/bill/climate change” or “Volunteer for X number of hours” or “Go to a protest” or “Donate a dollar to…”! You would submit your email/receipt/picture of one building you protested in front of/volunteer hour sheet to the app & then you would gain points! I feel like for some people they just need a little bit more of a push to do good things! Capitalism gets us to do all kinds of bullshit when they gamify it so why not good things? Then you could spend your points on discounts to participating businesses, or you chose where the makers of the app will donate to like “$100 to food bank of your choice”, or merch! Activists would set & update the challenges. There could be timed challenges like if there is a bill set to be voted on in a few days or it could help the republican administration’s enemy of the week!

It could even be that you sign up to get texts from an activist who gives you personalized challenges!

Does anything like this already exist?

Oh, sorry! I didn’t mean to rile anyone up! I do have impulse control issues so you definitely clocked me there! Hahaha I just wanted to know if it was an ok idea & if there were things that I could recommend to a few of my friends who seem to “forget” that google exists! Hahaha I hadn’t done the Blaze thing before so I just wanted to give it a go & see what happened. As far as my curiosity on whether it was a good idea or not I think I got a pretty good answer! But I promise I won’t Blaze again!! Wait, actually I can’t promise that (see impulse issue above), but I promise I will try not to do it & if I do I will try not to be so annoying again!! Why I voted for Harris:

I have been glued to various news outlets like The Majority Report, Zeteo, Democracy Now!, The Katie Halper Show, etc, twitch streamers like Hasan Piker, & YouTubers who talk about Palestinians & all the fucked up shit that Israel is doing & has done since Oct 7th. I knew this would be very VERY bad for Palestinians but I didn’t know enough to know how bad. Now I know. I have known for over a year. I cry for Palestinians & for the families of the Israeli hostages since I know that the hostages will/have been killed by Israel, as well. I cry for Lebanon & every other people & country that Israel rains heinous hell on. I cry for the Israelis who may be in jail for refusing to serve in the IDF & want their evil government & their cruel, fucked up neighbors to stop killing people in Gaza & the West Bank! I cry for all Muslims, everyone from the Middle East (or have ancestry from there), & all Jewish people! What Israel is doing/has always done puts all three (sometimes overlapping) groups all over the world at risk! I have contacted government reps, donated, among other things that I thought would help.

At this point I am ashamed to say that I have very little hope. I know that economists, historians, & other experts say that Israel is in severe decline & will probably collapse within the next 20 years. But that doesn’t help the people in Gaza or Lebanon or anywhere else right NOW! People will continue to die right now. I hate Biden. I thought he was doing a decent job before Oct 7th, but now all I see is a monster. When he dropped out of the race, I was ready to kiss Nancy Pelosi’s feet & declare her the white savior of the decade! When Harris announced her candidacy, hope & excitement were exploding out of me! I thought Harris would be different, but it doesn’t sound like she will be.

Now all I am voting for when I checked the Harris box, is that maybe one Palestinian child (in Gaza or the West Bank) who would otherwise die under a trump presidency will survive. Maybe one person trying to make it over the USA border will succeed & live an ok life that would have otherwise not have been possible under a republican administration. Maybe one less people will die from pregnancy complications & be able to access the care that they need. That is what I am voting for at this point. I know it is cowardly & fucked up, but I just need someone to make it! I just want someone to survive!

I don’t even know which pedo you are talking about & yet I know you are right. I didn’t have the courage to vote 3rd party. The only thing I can hope for in that regard is that maybe she isn’t her self a sexual predator, unlike nearly every other president has been? But I can’t even be sure of that.

I want to apologize in advance to Christians for coming off very angry! I have attended so many Christian churches &, since I am not cishet (among other reasons), I have been burned in so many ways by each one. The anger is coming from a place of hurt.

When I think of American “Christians” or “The Church” (as in the people) regardless of denomination, there are 3 pictures that immediately come to mind.

The first is a white person foaming at the mouth, eyes popping out of their skulls, veins bulging, face red, holding signs up with the gay F word & how everyone is going to hell.

The second is basically every insane government representative that is obscenely racist & wants everyone with a uterus to have white babies or die.

The third is a charismatic pastor who lives in a mansion, hops on his private jet to get lunch with government representatives, buys every car or fancy suit he can, is sexually abusing every other child in the church, & abuses his wife on the regular when he isn’t cheating on her.

Whenever I see a post on any social media expressing why people ultimately left their church or stopped being Christian, there are SO many posts below by Christians like “I’m so sorry that happened to you! That isn’t how it is at my church!” “I mean, maybe don’t let people shape how you view Jesus?” “Find a new church! Don’t give up!” “We are all sinners! Church is exactly where those sinners are supposed to be! Jesus heals!” “Those aren’t real Christians! Find some real ones like me!” “This can’t be real, no pastor would ever do that!” “What denomination was that? I’ve heard bad things about…”

If #NotAllChristians, then I am really gonna need all the “real” or “good” or “Christ like” Christians to step the fuck up! I need them to match the absolute FREAK of the insane ones holding transphobic/homophobic signs! I need them foaming at the mouth in rainbow! Rainbow crosses! “Jesus was Ace/Aro” & “Jesus loves The Gays” signs! I need them to be counter protesting the crazies with bullhorns! I need the church go-getter, Debbie, to post a sign up sheet in the fellowship hall for counter protests, driving & protecting abortion patients, making meals for houseless people, ETC!! When a pastor is caught being a pedo, the church needs to come together & give their tithe to the affected families &/or services that help victims of sexual abuse! If the pastor doesn’t go to jail, then they need to tell him to get out & everyone at the church should be emailing him, texting, mail, flyers on his door, etc to get him to go to a place where they help pedos from hurting people! The congregation should never let that ex-pastor sleep or go outside until he checks himself into some sort of hospital or intervention program! Since Christians believe they are “stewards of the Earth”, they should be leading the charge on reversing climate change before we destroy “God’s gift to us” the earth!

If these evil freaks are not truly practicing “real Christianity” then PROVE IT. Let me SEE an example of “WWJD”! If The Church is a reflection of the Christian God then I don’t find that god worthy of praise, worship, love, or respect at all. If “real” Christians really “love” Jesus, then why are they letting evil bastards use his name in vain to champion their bigotry & hate?! If someone lies about your loved one spreading terrible ideas about them to everyone, don’t you want to shout from the rooftops about how that isn’t true?! Are you not upset that people are trying to push as many people away from what you believe is the only way to be spiritually saved by spreading lies?! Christians aren’t in a battle against “non-believers”, they are in a battle against their own kind who is actively trying to feel special by gatekeeping “salvation”! But they either don’t understand this, aren’t willing to fight for their god or his children, or are just quietly agreeing with the evil cruelty that their freak Christian kin are doing but don’t wanna be too loud about it!

What IS a Christian? What is “Christ like”? Don’t tell me to read the Bible! I’ve read it & I don’t care. I need Christians to SHOW ME!

My brother & I were listening to various JD Vance news interviews & we both had the same thought that he sounds SO much like those patient interview tapes you collect in Batman Arkham Asylum but just the Riddler ones! He is just so defensive & creepy! And because he says the journalist/interviewer’s name SO often, it feels like the Riddler not remembering his doctor’s name & I keep waiting for her to stop JD Vance to remind him “Mr. Vance, please call me Dr. Alvarez” or something!

DEI is a great thing & it is a weapon that corporations use. On the good side it is about taking the top qualified people for a job & not just going with the white guy in that group because of the racist excuses of “he fits the business culture better” or “he reminds me of my younger self” or “I don’t want to deal with someone who might have an accent”! It give companies an incentive to hire someone else among the most qualified candidates! Also, because of systemic racism, highly educated & qualified candidates may not have as much experience as their white counterparts so the question can become “should I hire a white mediocre person who has done this for a while or the qualified on paper person who hasn’t had the opportunity to do this position as much?” DEI could tip the scale just a little bit more in the inexperienced yet fully qualified person’s favor in more instances. On the bad side, it is there to make the company appear not racist & bigoted while they routinely pay people of color & other marginalized people less than what a white man would expect to be paid at that job. White men have gotten used to a certain level of respect and pay, but hiring someone who might have less experience may not know what their labor is worth! And since marginalized people are “used to struggling” in various ways in society, companies think that they are more willing to put up with more work place abuse than white men or even women. Conservatives are so stupid that they don’t even realize that hardcore capitalists love DEI for these kinds of reasons! DEI is good & has the potential of eliminating the negatives of it if people in the work place band together, stand up for each other, tell each other their pay, & compare stories of treatment from the bosses!

things i have seen/experienced working in a toy store:

• a customer asking me if boys like coloring

• a customer telling her daughter she can’t give out ice cream stickers for party favors because there will be boys there

• an older couple laughing about how there’s a pink toy sword because a boy would never play with a pink toy sword (because i guess boys can’t like pink and girls don’t play with toy swords. also it wasn’t even pink it was red lol)

• a customer refusing to buy a snail robot kit for his nephew because it was “too cute for a boy”

• a customer sharply reminding me she was buying a gift for a boy when i suggested play food

• a customer telling her daughter she needed to pick a different birthday card for her friend because the one she chose had a pink envelope (her friend was a boy)

• a customer asking what a boy would like for valentine’s day instead of the stuffed dogs she was getting for the girls

• a customer getting upset when my coworker used blue ribbon on a gift bag because the present was for a girl

• a customer saying a toy guitar was “too girly” for her grandson, based only on the fact that the box had a picture of a girl playing with it (the guitar was red with yellow music notes)

but yeah, trans people have some real weird ideas about gender

It is so awesome that parents seem more willing to let their girl children play with science stuff, car stuff, foam swords, and action figures these days! People talk about using these toys to get girls more interested in STEM and fixing cars and whatever (which is great!), but “girl” toys teach important lessons that boy children need to learn too! Puppy and baby toys teach kids about taking care of something which men need to be inspired to do later in life, not just women! Cooking, cleaning, etc toys can be a tool to teach girls to be more domestic, but if you take gender out of it, these toys can teach/inspire independence! People need to be able to cook and clean for themselves no matter what gender they are! Princess toys can teach kids that they have worth and can feel pretty in different cloths. Dolls that have lots of friends to collect can inspire boys to, hopefully, surround themselves with a tight knit friend group! I have seen lots of videos where fathers and sons both dress up as Elsa or other princesses which is WONDERFUL! But sometimes I forget that feminism is for ALL genders! Kids can learn from basically any toy whether it is pink or not if they have a parent/guardian/adult that they look up to helping them along the way with kindness. Idk if this makes sense, but I found this post very interesting in a horrifying way!
