Those who have wronged me
Sneer in contempt
as they deal successful blows
Over and over again.
And yet they do not faze me,
I will not let them
When, if ever, their jeers wound me
See me waver for an instant.
To all those who cry just as I
Know that you are not completely alone,
No matter how strenuous your load may be,
For we-those like you-stand forever in the background.
We shall never abandon or rebuke you
As we have felt your pain;
It too is our own
Scorching deep into our hearts.
Never, despite what may come,
Allow yourself to give into despair
There will always be comfort
So long as you seek it out.
Though bitterly cruel
Earth is not completely wicked:
Kindness balances out the malice
In this eternal struggle we call living.
Have hope, ye victims of ignorance,
Those who have wronged you know not what they do,
And find peace knowing
They too are victims of this darkness.
May we find hope
Within the knowledge that
Should the war ever come to an end
Compassion will triumph
Over those who wield brutality as their weapons
As they do so merely out of "necessity" to accomplish their goals.
Upon this world there are none
Who truly love malevolence;
Rather they see it as a means-
It is all they know.
This, though it is we who are considered the victims,
Is a fate more pitiful than ours-
They do not possess the wisdom
Gentleness and acceptance brings.
I will always reside next to you
Swearing to offer protection and guidance,
Never allowing you to rise
As together we shall never fall.
