I think most of theĀ āHave a calm and polite discussion about politics with your oppressor and listen to their side too instead of screaming angrily about your viewpoints bc it makes people take you less seriouslyā people DONT realize that most of these people HAVE tried to have a rational and calm discussion with their oppressors about why they should be treated like a human and HAVE heardĀ āTheir sideā of the argument , and after they realized that they were always ignored, spoken over or dismissed by their oppressors had to resort to anger to drive their point across
Almost ALL women have politely tried to explain to men about why they shouldnt be treated as inferior because of their gender,why men disrespecting womensā boundaries and/or being inappropriate with them isnt okay and have argued endlessly with numerousĀ āDevilās advocatesā about why no woman ever deserves to be raped,abused, etc.Most of the women protesting in the streets for one thing or the other have written to and called their local government bodies to push against laws which might be harmful to women and introduce better laws which might be helpful to women. BUT IT NEVER WORKED.
Almost ALL lgbtqa people have politely tried to explain to homophobes/transphobes etc about how straight/cis people dont get toĀ ādisagreeā with their EXISTENCE and how they arentĀ āunnaturalā orĀ āattention seekingā.Most of the lgbtqa people have politely tried to argue with thier homophobic/transphobic friends and family BUT IT NEVER WORKED.
Almost ALL people of color, especially black people have politely tried to explain how they shouldnt be mistreated bc of their race and should not be considered inherently criminal/violent/aggressive etc bc of their race BUT IT NEVER WORKED and they kept seeing their friends and family being abused by racist institutions and cops.Most of the BLM activists protesting on the roads have tried many times to bring awareness of the sheer number of black people who were the victims of police brutality but NOONE LISTENED .
Most of theĀ āāangry SJWsāā you see were once one of the most patient people who used to have calm discussions with their oppressors.Its just that they had no option left but to be LOUD AND ANGRY to make their voices heard when they realized being polite and calm isnt gonna achieve shit.
