Hello! This is just an intro post with some info about me and some rules about my account, so please read if you want to follow (idc if you're just visiting though lmao)

Still reading? Cool! My name isn't Zen, but that's what you can call me! My pronouns are they/them, but I'm also cool with he/him, I'm a psychology major with ADHD and dyslexia who identifies as a non-binary bisexual individual.

I like to talk about stuff, mostly fandoms, but I'll also talk about my friends and vent sometimes, though I'll always add trigger warnings if necessary. I go into the tag for epilepsy and its all flashing lights. We can’t use our own tag because people without epilepsy fill it up with improper warnings.

Use ‘flashing’ in place of ‘epilepsy’ in your tags. You aren’t warning people of epileptics, you’re warning us of flashing lights. Please please tag properly. Epileptics say this endlessly and constantly and it’s ignored. You are risking lives by doing this.

Idk how many young people are still on tumblr but as a college academic advisor please listen to me: it is fine to drop out of college. It’s great even. You can drop out of college if that is what is best for you. However. Please. For the love of god, actually drop your classes. Go to the registrar/your advisor/your student portal/whatever and withdraw from your classes. Do not just stop attending. If you just stop showing up, you will fail all of the classes you’re enrolled in. This will tank your GPA, and if you ever decide you want to go back to school for a specific career, those Fs will come back to bite you. My college program is fairly lenient for our field (healthcare) and still we have to turn away a bunch of students who don’t have a 2.5 GPA, and the reason is that they attended half a semester of college in 2000, dropped out without withdrawing, and ended up with a 0.0 GPA and 16 credits. It’s very tough to recover from that. Even if you think you’ll never go to college, please just withdraw from those classes. Depending on when you withdraw, you may still have to pay for them, but at least there will be a little W transcript that will save your GPA.

A tip to all the Heated Rivalry fic writers out there: after several years of living in Boston, Ilya would know how to use articles. He would, at the very least, know they exist. And he would use them. Maybe not ALWAYS correctly, but he would.

Just in general, please note that someone having an accent doesn't mean they can't speak the language, and do it well. It's just an accent. I thought the show did a really good job of showing his language progression, so why are we going backwards here?

i feel like i am going insane whenever i open threads and someone complains about shane in the long game. they make him sound like the worst boyfriend in the world when that could not be further from the truth. he doesn't know ilya is struggling because ilya is too ashamed and scared to tell him he is depressed. ilya is not depressed because of shane or how shane treats him. it is a sickness. he thinks of suicide sometimes, he is really scared because he is happy and he has everything he wanted and he doesn't want to feel this way. it's inconvenient! so he keeps hoping he can deal with it. but shane doesn't know this because when he picks up on it ilya gets upset. shane is autistic. if ilya tells him he's okay, then he's okay. he doesn't understand what ilya is trying to communicate until it's said outloud and until later. he thinks they have this plan that they're both happy with until ilya admits he isn't! and it's not like he loves it either. he loves ilya so much he drives hours and hours in the middle of the night to see him fo a few hours. he learns russian so he can communicate with him in his mother tongue, he fucking proposes and essentially gives up his entire career when they're outed because he loves Ilya so much. and hockey means a lot to him. but he loves ilya more than anything. neither of them did anything wrong in that book, they just have heavy issues to work through and they always do with so much patience and love!
