{ after nearly a year of inactivity and trying to come back from hiatus, i’ve come to a somewhat sad conclusion! it’s that indie social media rp is not a feasible format for me anymore.

between my job, artistic aspirations and living life to the fullest now that i’ve escaped the environment that kept me from doing everything i really wanted with my time, it just isn’t happening. each time things get hectic and i have to put stuff on hold here, which is quite frequent, many who formerly expressed interest understandably lose it, making it more and more difficult to recover each time life carries me away. constant delays are not something i want to put myself or potential partners through! that’s not respectful of my own time or theirs. and this isn’t even to mention all of the uncomfortable ideology floating through public rp scenes of late. so from here on out, my focus will be exclusively reserved for private writing with folks i’ve already been developing plots with for over a decade now and closed groups such as servers, forums, etc!

these blogs will not be deleted! they’ll remain in tact and i may even pop my head in from time to time! i also intend to keep running my RESOURCE HUB. but consider this an announcement of permanent inactivity unless otherwise stated.

“Master made you for a reason.” Luxu said, “I’ll be honest… I don’t know what that reason is, but there’s no way he intends for you to rot in here forever.”

Just like Luxu had been made for a reason, even if he still did not know that reason yet either. It made him feel better to not be alone in that respect. He gently took hold of Soma’s hands.

“You know, we’re like brothers.” He said, “Made by the same man. Trust me when I say the two of us are meant for bigger things… And that includes seeing the world.”

Personally, Luxu felt a little silly after saying that, but at the very least he hoped that Soma found it encouraging to hear.

    The subject, despite Luxu’s suggestions to the contrary, has never been certain he could trust the Master. He harbors the same degree of distrust for himself. For as much terror as his maker’s scientific prowess has spawned inside of him, possessing little to no intelligence, experience or capacity for responsibility is assuredly a hazard on par.

    But his brother? Even if all others weren’t formless strangers to him, he would remain his foremost beacon of light and security. This is where he chooses to place his faith.

    It’s a slow change to behold. Nothing about the subject has ever been instantaneous. Still, an uncontestable glow returns to otherwise leaden irises. The faintest of lilts carries ordinarily vacant words, the words that are uttered at this particular moment in time being—

    “I trust you.”

    To say that Ventus is out of his element would be an understatement.

    His past and present travels have carried him to many worlds, but none that harbor so many foreign sights and sounds as this. Buildings with zeniths that rival his inherited castle’s surround. Crowds with densities he’s never seen amass and splinter off in every feasible direction. It might be overwhelming to the blonde’s mind had he not braced himself in advance. Instead, it’s overwhelming to his footing, bringing on more than a couple of stumbles whenever he’s unlucky enough to brush shoulders with a passerby.

    One such instance is a little more than just a brush. It’s a proper knocking of elbows—and what else can the blonde do but scramble to apologize?

    “Uh... sorry ‘bout that! Two left feet.”

Blake was about to protest when he saw the stranger summon a weapon, one that looked almost the same as his. He glanced over at where the blast of ice hit, just then noticing the shadow that had tried to attack. The shadow would’ve landed an attack if the other didn’t step in. As much as he didn’t want to admit it, he needed help, and this guy seemed like the definition of help.

With a solid swing to end the frozen heartless, he reared up for the next attack. He kept a comfortable distance away from the stranger, not wanting to hurt his supposed ally. Just as much as he fought the heartless that was attacking him, he fought off the ones that threatened to attack the other. He noticed they were making good progress- two different types of fighting seemed to help a lot. 

Just when it seemed like it’d never end, it did. It only took a few seconds before he was hit with a wave of exhaustion. A large part of him wanted to lay down in the spot that they stood, but instead he looked at the other. He wanted to seem like he was perfectly fine.

     “Thanks. I needed help with that one.”

    Whips of wind are accented and empowered by electric jolts. Ordinarily, his bursts would be more intense so as to liquidate the oncoming waves of Heartless while they’re still relatively congregated, but Ventus can’t risk casting too erratically. Not when he and his battle companion are entirely unfamiliar with the way one another move.

    Fortunately, this constraint doesn’t make too much of a difference in the grand scheme of things. The other boy easily makes up for the blonde’s reduced range of impact. It’s only a matter of time and a little bit of impromptu coordination before they’ve dealt the final blow and wisps of darkness dwindle in the brisk, calming air.

    Sighing with relief, Ventus turns, straightens his back and flashes an amicable smile before allowing his gaze to rove over the details of the foreign keyblade.

    “No worries! Wish I coulda gotten here sooner.” His own weapon vanishes in a burst of fragmenting light, freed fist clenching enthusiastically. “I had no idea there were other keyblade wielders in Radiant Garden. What’s your name?”

          As for Nicole, she herself was surprised at this. Her father is always warning her the dangers of strangers and to watch out. Especially for fae. However…Ven didn’t seem like a faerie or anything of the sorts. He seemed like a really earnest kid. So once situated on the wall, she reaches back out to shake his hand gently.

         “Nice ta mee’ ya, Ven. I’m Nicole. Bu’ youse can call me Nic.”

          It was nice. To sit and watch the sunset. A nice gold that matched the hair of the boy across her, and actually highlighted his eyes. Almost like a small forest with light filtering through the canopy. It was cute to think about, and now she can associate forests with Ven! The trees she can see growing in Radiant Garden.

         “I gotta say, ya got a mighty nice sigh’ up here. I appreciate ya invitin’ me!”

    With a flash of teeth and a small squeeze, Ventus releases his grip on the other’s palm.

    “Nic,” he repeats, hoping to commit it to memory then and there. “’Course! A good view becomes a great view when you’ve got somebody to share it with.”

    There's something more. A question dangling at the tip of the guardian of light’s tongue, but the weight of his ice cream serves as a reminder that he ought to be giving it some of his attention attention as well. One practiced sweep and swallow of the melting bits takes precedence before their conversation can continue.

    “Where were you off to before I stopped you?”

Artemis nods in answer and relaxes her grip on her hood after taking a deep breath. She understood that he had meant no harm.  Her hands eventually returns to her pockets where she finds her shopping list. “Actually, there is…” 

She fishes the crumpled paper out and unfolds it to show Ventus. The names of several items were already crossed off the list, but it mostly consisted of food ingredients for sandwiches. “You wouldn’t happen to know where I can find these, Ven? I’m sort of new to the area so I don’t know my way around yet.” Artemis figured that it should be safe for her to divulge this much without completely revealing that she is from another world. 

    Relieved to see the stranger’s body language becoming more lax, Ventus waits patiently while she searches her person, shifting his weight to better view the piece of paper that’s produced in time. It’s a shopping list—and upon closer inspection, not all too dissimilar from his own. He’d comment on that fact, if something else wasn’t holding his attention captive.

    “New to the area?”

    Those words are repeated in a quiet, confusion laced murmur. As far as the Land of Departure was concerned, only two notable locations dotted its map. Save for the castle and the village, there are untenanted rolling fields and mountains as far as one's feet can carry them. There shouldn’t be any other area to come from.

    A mystery to unravel.

    “Yeah! I can show ya. I’m headed in that direction anyhow.” As testament, Ventus pats the knot bag dangling from his dominant shoulder prior to starting in the direction of the strip he has in mind. “C’mon! If the stall owner’s daughter’s around, we might be able to get a discount.”

⌜☬⌟ ➡ Smirk would play at lips as head tilted to the side, amber gaze narrowing on his Light. “Aww and here I was hoping you’d be happy to see me.” Darkling would muse.

    “Happy’s definitely not the right word for it.” Ventus remains stationary, carefully searching the other’s features for a read that doesn’t crystallize. “But it doesn’t gotta be unhappy either, just so long as you’re not about to start swinging your keyblade at me.”

           “Bruh…tha’s a totally unfair trade off! So are ya sayin’ if I don’ hold on, yer gonna flip me off? Dude…if ya jus’ wan’ed a hug from yer big sis tha’ much, ya coulda jus’ said.”

    “Wha—no! Gravity would flip you off! And maybe a little bit of air pressure, too.”

To Roxas, a perpetual orange sky wasn’t anything different to him. Though sometimes he did wonder what it would be like if Twilight Town were lit with a blue sky. It would be beautiful, he thought. But nothing could beat the golden hue that he had grown to love. Stars over this sky? That was something he never thought of much.

“That would be neat  but it never gets dark here.” He turned to point in the other direction. “If you look close enough at the darkest part of the sky, you might see some very faintly. Other than that we technically can’t see stars from here.”

That half of the sky wasn’t nearly as dark as a typical night sky. A dark orange to a mid-purple tone, that’s all.

“So you like stars?” he shrugged curiously, wondering why he’d ask about stars out of all things there was to do in town.

    “Never ever?” Following the tip of Roxas’s finger, Ventus turns his body and gaze to observe the aforementioned point of the sky where pink and orange hues make way for what he can only think to compare to the lilacs that he and his former Master reared one spring. In this moment, it finally occurs to him that he should have taken Twilight Town’s namesake a little more literally.

   A breathy, wonderment filled “Wow,” is expelled just before his focus is retrained on the conversation at hand.

   “Yeah! More than anything else in all the worlds,” the blonde chirps, adopting a bit of a teasing tonality after the fact. “But I guess I can forget about ‘em for a few hours. You’re gonna show me some other great sights, right?”

“Oh, I was just going to remain at the mansion in Twilight Town,” Namine murmured, her fingers twisted together. “It may not seem like much, but it is home. And I prefer, truthfully to not be around people that much.”

   Ventus has to allow himself a beat to digest that information. The desire to keep oneself isolated is so polar to his own preference that he can’t help but marvel at the mere thought of it. Still—in the end, what fuels his follow up question isn’t anything to do with himself, nor the apparent contrast between himself and the girl before him.

   It’s an urge to come to understand Naminé a little bit better.

   “Really? Don’t you ever get lonely?”

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HIRO !!

Late Answer ░  @zephyrises​ said, “ Happy Birthday, Hiro!“ A white cake box decorated with scribbly little doodles of hearts, tech and the keyblade armor Hiro had designed for Ventus alike is presented with a bouncy flourish. Inside lies a vanilla cake sculpted in the shape of Baymax’s head. Though imperfect in its presentation, it isn’t lacking in personality. That much is certain. "I, uh… kinda goofed. Didn’t really come out the way I imagined it would. But I can guarantee its tastiness, at least! ”

”Huh. I didn’t know you knew it was my BIRTHDAY.”

Hiro blinked in mild surprise as brown gaze flicked from Ventus’ face to the box in his hands. In reality, he had been so busy with his own PROJECTS that his birthday had slipped his mind. Granted, his Aunt never let him forget about it, but he still didn’t think it was anything special - just another day ( another FIRST without his brother around ). His attention, however, is clearly stolen by the cake box. Right away, he can tell that Ventus drew out the designs and they seemed to be relevant to things Hiro enjoyed. With careful hands, he reached out and gently opened it, peeking inside to better see. As someone who didn’t make the best looking food himself, Hiro could appreciate the EFFORT that clearly went into it. After all, it really was the thought that counted. He’s seen worse that tasted FAR BETTER - he knew not to judge anything by appearance.

“Oh sick ! It’s Baymax - and all the stuff I’ve made - this is… really cool ! I can’t wait to TRY it ! I bet it tastes amazing.” His enthusiasm was genuine and he carefully took the box from the other’s hands with a crooked, gap-toothed grin. “Come on - you can stay for dinner. My Aunt is planning some new WEIRD recipe and I don’t wanna try it alone. You can be a guinea pig with me.” An elbow nudged at the other before he looked over the box again, smile settling well on young genius’ face. “… Thanks, Ventus.”
