louise-parker:
There had been talk about supernatural creatures within the parks of Portland. They were all fairy tales and stories people made up to tell beside the fire in Lou’s opinion. Throughout her life, never once has she came across any abnormality within the woods to inspire a belief in the paranormal. In fact, she wholeheartedly believed there were perfectly reasonable explanations for these so call proof of Bigfoots and ghosts. Explanations backed up by scientific proof and common sense. However, as a park ranger, Lou often has stumbled upon research groups -the word research used rather loosely-, which meant she had an obligation to listen to them and guide them on their expedition. While she had no intention of hunting down a Bigfoot, she was responsible for the safety of every person who walked through her woods. With every intention to uphold her integrity as a park ranger, Lou wasn’t at all surprised to find someone who appeared to be meditating on a rock in the middle of the forest. She was going to move on by without disturbing them but the ground was covered in dry leaves and debris, she hadn’t noticed the branch until she stepped on it. “Good thing I didn’t or else I would feel pretty awful.” Lou grinned, seeing what a lively person they were. “I’m sorry for startling you. That was quite a jump you made there. I suspect you thought a grizzly bear was sneaking up on you.”
Their heart pounded, but slowed by the second, too into their own mind and superstition before to think logically, but that was nothing new. “ Pretty awful, but it’s a good thing I’m so spry. I always land on my feet like a cat.” Zephyr laughed, moving to lean on the stump as they eyed the redhead. “Something like that...” Zephyr shrugged. It was probably best not to admit that in their spiritual practices that they hoped to come across a legendary creature that most believed were about as real as Pokemon. “ But hey, at least I could just play dead with a grizzly -- or are you supposed to do that was black bears? Grizzes are brown, right? “ The questioned, noting the uniform and assuming the woman would know. “ I don’t know, but one thing I know for sure is that I’m glad that it was a hot redhead and not a bear. Makes my life a whole lot easier.”
