“…I expected my experiments to fuck you guys up. You though, you’re like…on a whole different level. It’s kind of gross to be honest.” If she had to be honest, she could of broken him and his class in a more creative way then brainwashing. It had been more of a ‘Huh, I wonder if I could do it.’ and a ‘I hate most of these fuckers anyway, so why waste my time.’ tactic.  “So, Servant now was it? What the hell do you want?” 

  “I’m gross…?” He asks. His smile never falters. If anything, his tone full of curiosity hardly matches it. He’s likely different because of HOPE being his only coping mechanism from before. Also the clear mental instability he had before. Still, the brainwashing is far from complete on him. 

  “What do I want?” He repeats the question back at her. His head hurts and there is a devouring numbness inside of his chest. What DOES he want? He wants release. Freedom from this emptiness. But despair… Isn’t the remedy he wants, he tells himself. 

  “Oh, never mind that.” He says. “If I’m gross, what does that make you? You’re the most disgusting person I’ve ever met.”

She narrowed her eyes, her hand reached over and grabbed the chain around his neck and pulled it tightly, pulling him right up into her face.  “Servants should really learn not to talk back to their masters you know? It’s not an attractive quality.”  She let go of the chain, still looking at him with disgust. She shrugged.  “I’m disgusting huh? Well, the world will eventually decide that. If I am it’s savior or it’s devil. History is written by the victor or so they say! How will history remember you. That’s the real question. It will probably remember you as a traitor to your ideals. A gross person who twisted the meaning of Hope. A hope that fell to despair.”

[Starter for @zetsu-bones] [Despair!Gundham]

The city was in ruin. Many were dead. Thousands, even. The remnants of despair had wreaked havoc - and Gundham was one of them. He sat atop a building, away from the fires. He had done his job - his army of animals had been let loose, followed his every order, and were destroying everything they came into contact with.

Despair was all he could think of - the beginning and the end. Junko Enoshima was his master - and he would serve her to the very end. He desired to make her proud, to show that he could accumulate the most Despair of them all. He had gone through drastic measures to strengthen his power - he wore a straight jacket and chose to never open his eyes, with the painting of a bear claw on his forehead. Now that he had done what was asked of him, though, the jacket’s belts came undone and fell, allowing him to raise his arms in triumph. He opened his eyes to survey the destruction. This was true power. It was so beautiful to him, in fact, he felt tears fall down his face. He hoped he had done Junko proud.

“My lady Junko,” his deep voice rumbled, “I would know your dark and powerful presence anywhere.” He turned around to see her - Junko Enoshima. “What do you think?” He gestured with his arms to the destruction around him. “Is it not beautiful? My powers have grown,” he laughed aloud. He then kneeled before her - to him, she was like a queen.

His powers had grown? God, even in the pits of despair he was such a disgusting chuunibyou. Oh well, that was fun in it’s own way she supposed. She walked over and looked at the destruction below, the burning fires, the screams of the people filling the air.  Right below them, a woman got her leg caught in the mouth of one of Gundham’s wolves. She smirked. 

“It is beautiful. I always loved scenes like this, that moment of ultimate despair in a series. What sucked was this was always the point some hero came in and fucking ruined everything. Like, how fucking unrealistic is that!” she laughed.  “Well they’ll see now won’t they? That good doesn’t always win. That there isn’t always happy endings. Despair is all there is in this world. Simple as that.” she stepped back and looked at the animal breeder.  She reached over and let her hand trace across his cheek. “Such a good boy. You’re all doing so well! ~ You and your classmates were the perfect choice to throw this world into chaos. My own classes talents wouldn’t provide nearly this much entertainment!”  Controlling animals, twisting the media, ruling countries and yakuza! Corrupting sports! It’s like class 77-b had been fucking begging her to bring it to despair. Besides, they made much better pawns...where as she wanted to see her own class ruin itself from the inside out...they were her beloved classmates after all.

“God, a rape joke and prolonged time on a totally unfunny joke. Who greenlit this idea? Like, damn, this lack of actual comedy in a comedy anime is almost too despairful for me.” almost....

She let go and smiled, she’d known grabbing onto him like that would make it so he couldn’t resist. “Awesome! I’ll meet you at the subway station at eleven on Saturday okay!? Thank you soooo much~.” She blew him a tiny kiss before skipping off to return to her own classmates. One Piece wasn’t really her thing, it was a little too light hearted [most of the time] for her general tastes. Still, she’d heard something about some really exclusive Nico Robin merch. The Water 7 arc HAD been one of her favorites and Robin was pretty damn badass…so she’d no longer been able to justify not going.  So when Saturday came around, Junko was waiting at the train station. She hadn’t gone all out in cosplay or anything, but she was wearing a pair of Devil Fruit earrings. She glanced at the station clock, humming ‘We Are’ lightly to herself as she waited for Gundham.  As she saw him in the crowd, she waved “Over here Senpai!~” 

   Gundham sighs when she releases him, a hand pulling at his sleave to straighten it. He takes a slight step away from her, trying to make himself comfortable again. His mouth opens to say something grumbling and irritated but the super excited girl is already running off. He does flinch when she blows a kiss at him, the breeder wondering what that little bit of affection meant. He does feel a heat on his cheeks, eyes searching around to see if anyone saw that. He turns away, hunching. Guess he is resigned to a day with Junko. Not exactly a terrible time but she can be exhausting.

   Saturday rolls around and he finds himself anxious. He’s never really gone to a café with someone before, let alone a pretty girl. If he was reading too much into this he might start panicking over the fact that it could be considered a date. But it can’t be. There is no way. … She wouldn’t … would she?

   He groans, dark features searching the crowd. A part of him hopes she isn’t here, hoping that maybe she left without him. He did come a little late on purpose, mainly because he was feeling uncertain about this. But he did sort of give his word so here he is. It doesn’t take long for that hope to be dashed as Junko’s bubbly voice echoes over the bustling people.

   Eyes slide towards her and Gundham trudges over. There is a moment when his eyes dart around them, hoping to see no one he knows. It won’t do to have people spreading rumours. The fact that he’s dressed in something more casual yet still steeped in his dramatic, gothic style probably isn’t helping.

   “Yes, yes. I am here. Must you be so … boisterous?” He grumbles.

“Awww, don’t be like that senpai~”  She turned to head for the train, she was bouncing on the balls of her feet.  “Have you seen One Piece senpai?” she asked, “It’s not really your style I guess, but like, there are all kinds of interesting animals in it. I like certain parts of the show, even if it overall doesn’t fit my general style.” She turned around around and looked at him. “Of course, when I say show I mean primarily the manga. I hate the way Toei has been treating it. Serious, companies that put no passion into their work and let themselves get sloppy are the absolute worst! Don’t you think so?”  She doubted he knew or much cared about what she was rambling on about. Didn’t matter, she was mostly talking to pass the time. A voice announced the train would be arriving soon.  The train pulled up and she stepped onto the train.

“Oh hey, are we sprouting way outdated memes? Because I was JUST thinking about buying clothes at the soup store.”

“Awww, you actually paid enough attention to me to understand my reference. Senpai, you really do care…” 

“SUCKS that  you’re totally fucking wrong, Jump and Toei will never fucking let Dragon Ball Z die. That’s why they won’t let Toriyama fucking retire. Ain’t that just the pits!” 

   “I guess after you saying it over and over, it was finally soaked up in my head. But just because I remembered something does not mean that I care for you, not even close. But I wouldn’t expect you to care what trash like me thinks about you. I’m actually being quite hypocritical right now, but oh well.

   “But am I really wrong? Just because he doesn’t retire doesn’t mean that he won’t die.”

“You’re right, I don’t really care what you think. At least you aren’t totally hopeless when it comes to learning new things though. Anyway...”

“You don’t get it....” she sighed. “Even after he ties, the companies will still milk his series to death....so despairing...”  “He went and made this amazing rich universe that is beloved by millions and millions of people world wide and now he’s just a puppet of the companies...the bitter truth of popularity...just like people who still profit off of making new series for Black Jack or Astro Boy...even though  Osamu Tezuka died long ago...”

   “I wonder if Enoshima will just kill over… So hopeless, no matter what we do she just keeps coming back.”

“I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again. I’m like a popular shonen series. too popular to die.”  You know the one she’s talking about.

   “So you say… But everything runs out of popularity, Enoshima. Would you like to make a bet on how fast you fade away into the dust?”

Dragon Ball may be popular at the moment, but even it will be forgotten. Slow realization that he actually retained something she said.

I mean, I ship it sort of...I doubt any Naegi on this site would be interested in going near Junko with a 55 and a half foot pole though.

@danganchildren has a fanchild for Junko in need of a father if there are any takers.  I can’t think of who would mate with Junko though.  [I’ve been debating between Matsuda and Kamukura, but like...my most developed ship on this blog is Junko/Gundham....and someone suggested Byakuya and I also ship that...so like...-dies- shipping is complicated.]
