you’re fine
gojo satoru x reader
🪶dating the strongest sorcerer most definitely has its cons and you never minded it. but you don’t know how bad it can get until you are part of it.
- warning: mention of death, reader gets hurt, angst, blood
extra note: HI HELLO IM ALIVE! i’ve been in school this whole time and had not time to sit down and write. i have too many projects and assignments so i am SO SO SO happy to be able to do this again! i hope you enjoy angst!
you knew dating gojo satoru had it's pros and cons. he is a really fun person to be with. he knows good date places, surprises you with cute mementos whether it was a keychain he picked up along the way during one of your missions. gojo saturo knew you like the back of his hand.
which to many people, may seem cute and lovable. those were the pros in your relationship.
the cons is the fact that gojo satoru is the strongest jujutsu sorcerer anyone has ever seen. you also knew him as someone who has to be at his A game most of the time. he has to fight curses left and right to the point where you question when it would be enough. you worry for him as so does he with you.
being so concentrated during missions was important. you were not only his partner but also the one to back him up when fighting curses. though you weren't as good as him, he counted on you. he trusted you enough with the curses that he would take his eyes off of you and when he look back, you've killed all the curses.
but maybe this time, he shouldn't have taken his eyes off of you. maybe he should've left the lingering question of when it will finally be enough. the minute you realised how the air during this mission was much thicker and the way your body was not reacting the way you wanted it too, you should've left.
you felt weak as you cowered at the corner of the room. more like half knocked out. with your eyes half lidded, you watced as satoru did everything in his power to take the curse down.
"'toru?" your pleading scream turned into a hushed whisper as you called out to him. satoru couldn't hear you. neither could he tend to the open wound in your stomach. his attention was focused on the curse. you understood that.
somehow, with whatever power you had left, you managed to sit up, leaning against the wall. you clutched onto the wound while the other hand reached out to the fight- more specifically, the curse before you.
with one last movement of your hand, you watched the curse fly across the room. just enough for gojo to give one last hit. just one last hit. it didn’t matter if you died right there, as long as he was safe and alive.
that was the last thought you had before your body ran cold. you let the searing pain win over as you felt the numbness creep over your body.
you could hear your heart pound. the loud thumps coming towards you didn’t help either.
“gojo sensei! y/n’s-” maki? you heard frantic breathing beside you as your weak body gets lifted up.
“y/n? y/n?! don’t you fucking dare close your eye on me. dammit! call someone! it’s just the two of us now, baby,”
you heard sobbing above you. was gojo satoru crying? gojo is okay? he’s fine. he wasn’t hurt. you completed your mission well.
all you needed was for your damn eyes to rip open. you felt warm hands cup your face lovingly. almost like an angel’s touch.
“rest my love. it’s okay. you’ll be okay,” you’ll be okay. satoru said so. you believed him and allowed the numbness to take over your body. you finally felt fine.
you felt warm.
and suddenly it was soft. like an angels touch once again. your body felt like it was floating. and you throat was stinging.
‘i don’t think it’s suppose to hurt’
that numbness you remembered feeling slowly lifted. so did the warmth. your bones felt stiff and your skin felt cool breeze every second.
as you tried fluttering your eyes open, you were greeted by a bright light that cause you to shut it close immediately. were you finally in heaven? everything felt fluttery causing a small smile to form on your face.
“holy shi- y/n? doctor?! doctor, she’s awake!” doctor? a sense of recognition flashed and now you were fully awake. you began to panic. where were you? why is it so bright? your eyes searched the room to find a slightest clue as to where you were.
it was at this moment you made eye contact with three students. your students to be exact.
megumi, yuuji and nobara.
all three looked seasoned and on the brink of breaking down. “is he coming?” nobara questioned, getting up from her seat, watching as the doctors examine you.
“yeah he is. sounds breathless over the phone,”
you watched in confusion as doctors surrounded you and checked your vitals. how long has it been? what happened?
“sensei?” you watched megumi walk up to you as the doctors saw themselves out. “how are you feeling?”
tired. overwhelmed. thirsty.
your hand instinctively reached for your throat, a sign that you were parched. nobara understood and quickly fetched you a cup of water to down immediately.
after taking a breather, you looked at those three students once more. your eyes searched theirs. maybe an answer as to why you were here.
a small mark on megumi’s cheek, a scar, that you knew he never had brought a slight pang to your chest. soon, something washed over you.
a curse. you being slashed by a curse. satoru looking over you. your eyes widened as you searched the room for youe lover.
“how long has it been since the-”
“a year. it’s been a year,” yuuji replied softly. a year. that was how long you’ve been bedridden for. they probably thought you weren’t going to make it.
your heart clenched at thag thought. your survival was slim, most likely. could he have moved on from you?
“the curse that both of you fought was… tough. you lost like a lot of blood. and gojo-sensei-”
“how is he? is he okay? did he get hurt?” your eyes pleaded for an answer but before anyone of them could reply, the door of your ward slammed open.
“out. all of you,” your question had been answered. the same white haired man with him blindfold on was most definitely alive. he was okay.
the three obliged and took their leave. now it was just the two of you.
“‘toru? you’re okay?” a small sob exited your mouth. gojo wasted no time and scurried to your side.
“i’m so fucking glad you’re awake, love. i’m sorry. i’m so sorry,” tears started rolling down his cheeks, damping his blindfold.
why was he sorry? for what exactly. you hands reached over his face to take the blindfold off. you needed to see him. all of him. a small pout reached your face as tears filled your eyes.
“how are you?“ a small pained chuckle exited satoru’s mouth. with watery eyes and a look of relief on his face, he smiled. “typical y/n. got knocked into a coma for a year and here you are asking how i am doing?” you haven’t been able to see that smile and hear that chuckle for a whole year.
one whole year. tears rolled down your cheeks as you let that fact sink in. “why are you crying, love?” his warm gentle touch caressed your cheek, wiping the never ending tears away.
“i’ve missed you, ‘toru. i’m so sorry for leaving you alone for this long,” he shook his head and pressed his forehead on yours. you leaned into his touch, with the same warmth you felt while on the verge of death.
the warmth of an angel. but this time, you knew it was no angel. it was gojo satoru. it was just him.
he nodded aimlessly at your words, his heart clenched knowing thag he didn’t have to pray for the day you woke up anymore and that he had been heard.
“i’ve missed you so so much. god, i waited for you all this time and now you’re finally awake,”
“you never moved on?” satoru’s face scrunched as he took offence to those words. moved on? “i could never do that, my love. i knew in my gut you were going to wake up,”
and those words dripped with truth. for that whole year, gojo satoru had beat himself up with guilt for what had happened to you.
everyday, he’d make a point to come see you, hoping he could hear your voice again. satoru would come in at the same time to visit you. he’d tell you about his day while he held your hand, hoping he’d get a response.
he celebrated his birthday with you, yours while he held your hand while humming the tune of your favourite song.
if anyone were to question where gojo satoru was at, others would simply say that he was with you.
satoru was more than happy to be with you. even more so when your bright eyes were looking back at him again. a weight lifted off his shoulder knowing he no longer had to come home to an empty apartment. or sleep in a half made bed.
he no longer had to spend his days without you.
he never wanted to move on. he couldn’t do it. you were the only thing- only person, who could make the strongest, weak.
“i missed you so much. y-you don’t know how much i wanted to hold you. how much i wanted to save you that day-”
you took his face in your hands and pressed a kiss onto his lips. this is what you needed. it was a soft kiss. one that held so much meaning to the both of you.
“you ramble on way to much sometimes, y’know that?” you smiled. god, all the action you’ve missed with the students.
“it’s all over now. i’m here now. let’s just make up for lost time, okay?” your voice wavered as a huge smile made it to your face. you were undoubtedly home.
“i’ll do everything in my power to make it up to you. god i am never letting you out of my sight,” he whispered.
you pulled away from the embrace and pat an empty spot on your bed for him to sit.
“how ‘bout you start by telling me how your day was,” satoru’s head had never whipped that fast in his life. you could feel all of his bones crack. a smile reached his face.
you had heard him everyday while being in a coma. you’ve heard every single story he told for the last year.
he let himself get comfortable next to you and started going on and on about his day.
to you, this was heaven. and gojo satoru was your angel. and so help anyone who tries to take it away from you again.
-bonus-
“y/l/n-sensei!” the door banged open revealing your dear students once again. nobara was the first one to run to you with a teary eyed face. she engulfed you into a gentle bear hug.
yuuji, the same as nobara, was sobbing with a huge smile on his face. megumi had a relief look on his face, contrary to his two other friends.
maki and toge were also present. maki couldn’t help but come up to you and give you another round of hugs. toge nodded with a glint in his eyes.
“don’t ever do that again! you had all of us worried for a year!” nobara poked with a small pout on her face. you couldn’t help but squeeze her cheeks.
“yeah! out of all of us, megumi and gojo-sensei were the most worried!” yuuji nonchalantly said, earning a groan from megumi.
you wouldn’t be surprised that megumi was worried. you knew him the day satoru took him in. you were like his mother figure in a sense.
“sometime gojo-sensei wouldn’t leave the room,” yuuji added on. the air in the room soon became somber.
you realised how this situation had ultimately affected everyone you knew.
“i’m here now, aren’t i? no more sad faces. only happy ones, okay?” nobara quickly changed her expression and agreed.
“okay! i think that’s enough catching up! y/n needs her rest,” ‘toru’s voice caught you off guard. “not fair! you got the most time with her!” nobara fought back.
“that’s because she’s my girlfriend. now shoo,” you watched as he pushed them out of the room. nobara tried to fight back but it was no use.
“really, ‘toru?” you shook your head and leaned back. his hand caressed your head, leaning in to give you a small kiss on your forehead.
“rest my love. you’ll be fine,”
