i used to have a RWBY Rat boy OC named Quinn.

He was plucked from a dust mine/prison camp where he was separated from his best friend, Tak, to be adopted by an sadistic Schnee branch family member with no intent on taking care of him other than progressing her own agenda. there he was blinded, his rat ears and tail painfully removed, and human ears implanted, and beaten on a daily. what kept him going was hope to see his best friend, Tak, back in the mines.

He was taken away after the White Fang raid as a prisoner. and in the dark cell, he discovered that he can see anything inside his shadow. not too long after that, the leader caught on, and took him in, trained him relentlessly to be an agent of the night, where his semblance is at its strongest- where the night is his his entire vision. what kept him going was hope to see his best friend, Tak, back in the mines.

The white fang leader saw this as an opportunity to weave in a story that the mines have been destroyed with no survivors, and the Huntsmen of Beacon were to blame. fueled with rage, what keeps him going now is to see Beacon fall, all in hopes to avenge his best friend, Tak, from the mines.

Meanwhile, in Beacon, a fresh new batch of Huntsmen were just declared, including a boy from the mines named Tak.
