Here’s a 5 minute time lapse to show how I make the realistic Endless Summer & Hero edits. This one took about 2-3 hours, not counting the random times I went back to make little changes to things I didn’t catch before (how did I not see how uneven his goatee is?). I don't always use this many assets (semi-full list under the cut), but this is representative of the process as a whole.

I hope this is helpful for those of you who are curious how those edits are made or who want to make some of your own!

Love love your edits! I have a question about them: how do you fit outfits for the body types when making gender reversed lis??

Thank you! I already answered this here, but I could go into more detail.

So I never take the OG character's full outfit and put it on a different body; I usually just take the details from that original outfit and edit them onto a similar outfit from another body type. And by details, I mean the accessories and emblems on the outfit (like Eli's scarf, the logo on Angel's shirt, the patches on Troy's jacket, etc) that wouldn't change too much when transferred.

For instance, these are the sprites I used for f!Eli, with the parts that I took from them and altered to get the final look:

Like every other edit that involves fitting clothes on different body sprites, I used the Transform and Warp tools to reshape the parts I cut from those sprites, which I did with Selection tools.

Sure! This is my first time editing for this book and it made me notice all the details on everyone's designs (like how the patches on Troy's jacket are reversed for some reason)

Hello! Don't mind me asking-

How do you make those choices sprite thingies?

I have an edit timelapse pinned on my blog, and some other "behind the process" posts under the resources tag

Just Choices assets. Sometimes if I need specific patterns or designs that I can't recreate from the assets (like Tatum's barong), I'll look them up online and use PS tools to integrate them into Choices style.

Customizable LIs lately have really been lacking in any defining features or characteristics that would make them interesting to look at. I liked when you could tell that characters were obviously based on real people (rip OG James), or at the very least had distinct features like freckles or birthmarks. The supporting characters in these new books look so much better than the main LIs to me, and the fact that they aren't custom has everything to do with it.
