Ollie Bearman had barely stepped out of the car before the weight of everything caught up with him.

The garage was still alive with noise—engineers talking, screens updating, the race continuing somewhere out on track—but none of it reached him properly. His helmet was still half on when he walked straight through it all, eyes locked on one thing.

You.

You were near the back of the garage, half turned toward a monitor, but the second you saw him, everything else faded out. You didn’t wait for him to speak.

“Ollie—”

He didn’t even make it to a full stop before he reached you.

The frustration hit first. Then the disappointment. Then the fact he didn’t want to hold any of it in anymore. He pulled you into him tightly, and you went with it instantly—no hesitation, no space left between you.

You had to rise up onto your tiptoes to reach properly, your arms slipping around his neck and locking there like you were anchoring him to the moment. He was still in his race gear, still tense, still shaking slightly with everything he was trying not to say out loud.

“It’s okay,” you murmured straight away, voice soft but steady. “You did amazing out there. Seriously.”

One of your hands stayed at the back of his neck, fingers threading gently into the damp hair there, while the other rubbed slow, calming circles between his shoulders.

You leaned in and pressed a few gentle kisses to wherever you could reach—his temple, the edge of his cheek—small, grounding things that didn’t ask him to talk.

He exhaled shakily against you, holding on a little tighter like he needed the pressure to stay upright.

“I had it,” he muttered, voice rough with frustration. “I actually had it this time.”

“I know,” you said quietly, still on your tiptoes, still holding him close around the neck like you weren’t planning on letting go anytime soon. “And that’s what makes it hurt more. But it doesn’t erase what you did before that. You were incredible.”

He didn’t answer straight away. Just stayed there, breathing unevenly, letting the anger slowly drain into something heavier and quieter.

After a moment, you eased back just enough to look at him—but not far. You were still on your tiptoes, still holding onto his neck, your foreheads almost level.

“Do you want to watch the rest of the race with the boys who didn’t finished,” you asked gently, “or go somewhere quiet?”

His eyes flicked away for a second, jaw still tight.

“…Drivers’ room,” he said finally.

“Okay,” you nodded immediately, soft and sure. “C’mon.”

And you stayed close the entire way out of the garage, your hand not leaving him for long enough to let the disappointment feel like it was his alone to carry.

He’s very observant. Notices the small changes in your mood instantly and checks in without making a big deal out of it.

His love language is quiet consistency. He shows up, stays close, and makes you feel steady even when life is hectic.

You start learning Italian because of him at first just for fun… but it slowly becomes something you genuinely love doing.

He thinks it’s really sweet when you try speaking it — even if you mess up a little, he never laughs at you in a mean way, just softly corrects you.

His voice in Italian?? Aaaahhhhh!!!You absolutely melt. When he speaks it naturally—whether he’s talking to his team or just casually—he notices how you go quiet and smile every time.

Eventually he starts switching into Italian when he’s talking to you without thinking, especially in calmer, more affectionate moments.

He’ll say little things like compliments or soft check-ins in Italian, and you’ll just sit there like “you can’t say that and expect me to be normal.”

He finds it funny how much you love it, but he also gets a little shy about it when he realises how much it affects you.

If you start responding in Italian, even simple sentences, he gets genuinely impressed and a bit proud of you.

He’s not super big on PDA, but in private he’s very gentle—small touches, staying close, letting you lean into him.

He opens up more over time, especially late at night, talking about pressure, racing, and his future goals.

When he misses you, he gets quieter—but his messages become more frequent and a bit more thoughtful.

If you’re at a race weekend, just hearing you say a few words in Italian to him before he goes out gives him a noticeable confidence boost.

Around you, he’s still focused and disciplined—but there’s a softer version of him that only you really see.

He’s very dedicated to racing, so at first he might seem a bit reserved, but once he lets you in, you realise how soft he actually is.

You’d get good morning texts even when he’s in a completely different time zone.

Race weekends = busy, but he always makes time to see you, even if it’s just a quick moment before he has to go again.

He loves explaining racing to you, even if you don’t fully get it, he’s just happy you’re listening and interested.

He’s lowkey shy with affection in public, but in private? Way more clingy than you’d expect.

When he wins or does well, you’re the first person he wants to talk to. Like immediate call or text: “Did you see that?!”

If he has a bad race, he might go quiet for a bit, but you being there, even just sitting with him, means everything.

He’d definitely give you his team hoodie or cap and it becomes your thing to wear on race days.

He’s really proud when you come watch him race. Like spotting you in the paddock or stands makes him noticeably happier.

Travel is a big part of your relationship, different countries, hotels, airports, but it ends up feeling like little adventures together.

He’s not overly dramatic with words, but when he compliments you, it’s genuine and specific.

Late-night calls where he’s half-tired, voice softer, just talking about his day or asking about yours.
