I want to help people

Sometimes deemed as an extremely cliche answer, I think there’s a lot of hidden meaning in this sentence for students just getting into nursing school and nurses who have been in the field for a long or short period of time.

For me it has many meanings at least:

- I want to be there for others when life gets hard

- I want to be that reliable person that can give you the help and advice you might need

- I want to hold your hand when the news is good, and when it’s bad

- I want to experience the wonders of medical advancement and how it’s going to help YOU to recover

- I want to be your voice when you’ve lost yours

- I want to witness someone come back from being on deaths bed, because I aided them in getting better.

Why do you want to be a nurse? Why do you want to be a medical practitioner?
