White leftists will make half of their personality the fact that they almost went down the alt right pipeline as a teen and used to be a huge bigot.
Its not really a pet peeve but like when people are like “Eat the Rich” and you can tell they think that means kill rich people and not like you know take away the thing that makes them rich. IDK

all these people who are like ACAB AND PUNCH NAZIS are gonna see Biden lift the "trans ban" on the military and are gonna cheer his praises not comprehending their irony and idiocy
here we go
It’s not the fact that it’s the military(which sucks for many reasons), but the fact that a ban on transgender people was lifted. It isn’t a great thing, but it’s a step in the right direction to grow acceptance of trans people.
sending trans people to go die and/or murder overseas is not acceptance
“The challenge of the twenty-first century is not to demand equal opportunity to participate in the machinery of oppression. Rather, it is to identify and dismantle those structures in which racism continues to be embedded. This is the only way the promise of freedom can be extended to masses of people.
[..] Those who present the gender and racial composition of the U.S. military as a dramatic example of equality offered by democracy have clearly lost sight of whatever promise democracy might hold for the future. Gender equality in the military is represented was the equal opportunity to participate in every aspect of military life, including equal opportunity to participate in violence previously assumed to be the purview of men. This approach to equality leaves no space to challenge the status quo. [..] [This] equality is measured in terms of acess to repressive institutions that remain unchanged or even become strengthened by the admission of those who were previously barred [..].”

White privilege is your history being taught as a core class and mine being taught as an elective.
please let them know.
white privilege is your history being taught as a core class, and mine being banned because it would promote “the overthrow of the U.S. government, foster racial resentment, and advocate ethnic solidarity.”
i love when liberals are like “yes biden isnt going to be perfect” and the projected imperfections are like couping, sanctioning, and bombing the global south
libs: “you want everyone to pass a purity test!”
the purity test:
Liberalism is in such a fucking incredible state of crisis since the election. The total inability to accept the fact that the ideal neoliberal candidate (both economically and in terms of neoliberal identity politics) could have lost due to people not wanting more neoliberalism is just shocking.
Literally, liberals find it more reasonable to assume that like 84 tumblrs (that we still lack proof of their connection to IRA or whatever) undermined the election than to accept that the politics Clinton represented are not desirable to the masses.
And of course, in this moment of crisis, liberalism shows its hand and reveals the insidious turn from liberal democarcy to a more reactionary social order. Discussing police violence is now misniformation and destruction of national unity. Attentiveness to white supremacy is now condemned by liberals. This is what we on the far left have meant all along when we say liberalism is the left wing of fascism. It is one economic and ideological crisis away from undergoing a transformation into something much uglier.
so I'm curious, cause i call myself a liberal while talking about politics, where the bad reputation came from? like I donate to people who are struggling when I can, believe in socialism/anarchy etc and I was unemployed for a while. I'm genuinely curious because I don't want to use a term that misrepresents me in conversation - thank you!
liberals focus on the individual rather than humans as a group. liberals don’t recognize that we are not individuals in the sense that all of our actions do impact other people, and everything someone is able to build today is due to the effort of other people at one point.
also, liberals want to work within the system to change it. they don’t believe in tearing down the system. they don’t recognize that the entire system from its very core is based on inequality; instead, they think that the system can work to treat everyone well, we just have to wiggle it around a little till it fits!
it’s bullshit. liberals ignore the roots of problems and just want to attack symptoms without ever identifying the problem itself. they reward meager bullshit that changes absolutely nothing, while criticizing those who are actually fighting back and resisting. for instance, ignoring queer people who are in actual need while raising $10k for a fucking rainbow decorated yard that helps absolutely no one.
liberals think that if you, personally, are ~okay with the gays~ then that’s all the change you need to make in the world. they don’t recognize that human society is not based on individuals, but actual systems of oppression that are continued throughout generations and are inherent in the capitalist structure.
liberals don’t do shit, they don’t change shit, they think that they’ve somehow outwitted the nasty part of the system by being ~so damn progressive~ but really, they’re perpetuating capitalism and inequality because they’re fucking complacent, they just allow the system to go on and on crushing people into the dirt because their kid has a rainbow backpack.
Why do white people act like they get to determine whether or not race has anything to do with an issue?? Y’all are the absolute least qualified to be making that judgment and the last people who should even be making that judgement in the first place. Y’all need to remove the phrases “this isn’t about race”, “your race has nothing to do with it”, “not everything is about race” or any other phrases that convey those ideas from your fucking vocabularies all together.
If you have ever said any of these things to a poc before, know that you were automatically wrong about everything else you were saying or the point you were trying to make.
Generation z is obsessed with….being generation z. And thinking we’re the most powerful and progressive generation ever…..whos gonna tell them generations don’t actually exist and history is complex and not as linear as they like to think it is. And that we r actually very similar to generations before us…..The amount of misinformation these 15 yr olds spread on tiktok abt real life events……..
