Age & Date of Birth: August 4th, 1982 (34)
Birthplace: Ottawa, Canada
Length Of Time In Montreal: Seventeen years
Born to Polish parents, Zosia Kaminski had a strange upbringing. Her Father was the Polish ambassador to Canada and struggled with the idea that his only daughter would not know Poland as she should. Her parents tried as hard as they could to give Zosia a rich Polish upbringing. She was brought up speaking English and Polish, and was soon taught French when she was old enough. She studied Polish history and politics, played Polish games and ate Polish food. Every holiday, the Kaminski family would travel back to Warsaw to see their family and the little blonde enchanted every member of her family with her kind and bubbly nature. Although her parents were wealthy, due to her fatherâs position, neither family had come from money, and the stark contrast between her life in Ottawa was a stark contrast to the lives her family lived in Warsaw. It was when she was around seven, Zosia vowed to help her family in anyway she can and often saved her allowance to send little packages to her grandparents and cousins back on Poland.
As much as Zosia loved travelling back to Warsaw to see her family, as she got older and began attending High School, spending every holiday away from her friends began to take itâs toll. One summer when she was sixteen, Zosia stood her ground and refused to travel to Poland for the break, instead, she packed a bag and went to stay with a friend. It was the one time Zosia was truly angry at her parents, who didnât seem to understand that as she grew up, other things were becoming more important to her. To placate her parents, Zosia through herself into school, studying as much as she can and taking as many extra-curricular activities as she could handle. It was hard for her parents to argue with her with the grades she was achieving and the family soon compromised that Zosia would travel to see her family, but for a shorter amount of time. The hardest decision Zosia had to make was where to go to college. Her parents wanted her to study in a presitigious university in Britain or America, but Zosia was attached to Canada and soon decided on McGill university. Originally deciding to study law, she soon changed her course to study education.
It was at college that Zosia met Harry Matthews. The two met in Zosiaâs first week at college, with Harry being a final year medical student, the blonde was convinced heâd never be interested, but he was. On the day of her college graduation, Harry proposed and they quickly got married. Despite only being twenty two, Zosia was convinced sheâd found her soul mate, and was already planning their future together. As the years went on, Zosia tried unsuccessfully to make their marriage a happy one. When she was twenty four, the pair began trying for a child, with no result. Eventually getting pregnant, Zosia soon miscarried and vowed that they would stop trying, as she could no longer take the disappointment. It was around this time that Harry became even more distant than he had been in the past couple of years. He took extra shifts, stayed out late and was rarely home, even when his wife needed him the most. It was then that Zosia met Gideon Boyle. After pouring her heart out over a few too many tequilas, the two began to flirt and Zosia was reminded that she was young and beautiful, and that life was too short to be unhappy. She soon ended her marriage and filed for divorce, the settlement she received enough for her to buy her own house in LaSalle.
Despite having a teaching degree, Zosia had never worked during the marriage, instead becoming a housewife, something that she soon realised she detested. After completing some refresher training, the blonde was given a job at the local elementary school, and she was finally able to become a successful teacher something that the kindhearted girl was a natural at. Despite becoming content in her professional life, Zosia could feel herself slipping in her personal life. Although she knew that leaving Harry had been the right decision, she was empty without him. He had been in her life since she was eighteen, and she was lonely without him. It was this that led her to begin a sexual relationship with her friend, Gideon. Neither of them had any romantic feelings, but it was enough for them to feel like they had someone and once Gideon was transferred, Zosia had enough confidence to move on with her life and get back on the dating scene, eventually meeting her new fiancee. Although she continued to work at the school, after dating her fiancee for two years, Zosia went into business with her future sister in law to open a fashion boutique in LaSalle, a business that has proved to thrive in the community. Although a silent partner, Zosia has been known to help out in the store on her time off, enjoying the time to interact with people outside of the school.
Zosia is extremely warm hearted and wouldnât hurt a fly. She went through a down phase whilst she was going through her divorce, with her spark disappearing for a year or so. She is extremely kind and loyal, and fiercely protective of the people she loves. She is extremely family orientated and as sheâs grown up, she has become much more of a maternal figure. It would take a lot to make Zosia angry, so much so that it happens very rarely. Because of how warm and bubbly she is, it is quite easy to upset her. To a degree, she is quite naive and has been known to be a bit of a crybaby, although less so as she has gotten older. She is extremely focused and when Zosia sets her mind to something, it will most likely come true. She doesnât like failure in herself, one reason it took her so long to end her marriage to her ex husband. Growing up with a politician for a father, she had a shrewd mind and isnât afraid to stand up for herself, although there would always be a fluffy edge to it
