I totally agree with this take and then I had this realization that our society has two buckets we put stories in to: legitimate story or porn. It doesn't help that most of the time there is sex or nudity in media meant for the general public, it *is* purely pornographic (in the sense that it is meant to titillate) without actually processing any of the very big "human experience" questions that sexuality creates.

I think one of the reasons HDG is so revolutionary (to autistic transfems) is because the nuances of how our culture treat sex are very hard to grasp... especially because most of us didn't really explore sexuality until after transition, so it comes off as a foreign language that our peers speak just fine.

So, at the same time as we are experiencing story themes that very few media explores, with characters and relationship conflicts and perspectives and dynamics that very few media explores... We are also discovering legitimate, emotionally resounding stories that use sex as a structural constituent from beginning to end rather than the icing on top of a vapid action movie or the "payoff" at the end of a passe romance plot.

It's... honestly magical that we're all getting to experience this together as sisters. I discovered HDG like 3 weeks before it started *popping off* and I've been delighted logging back on every day and seeing more and more people see through the false dichotomy of "real art" vs "porn" that I blame puritanical values for infecting us with. It's always been absurd to me that you can buy a game that normalizes *very fucked up values* but we can't even show a vagina on TV....
