you can learn a lot of things from the flowers
zwalice:
where it is perhaps a little bit of a strain for her to smile so brightly after being touched by the strange man, alice himself can only smile warmly and genuinely after the moment of mourning the loss of touch has passed. he would have liked to hold her hands a little bit longer, to truly get a feel for the life in her palms and fingers, the source of so much life that went into these already dead flowers. they certainly still seemed to be alive to alice, even though they no longer held fast to the earth. but to have her still be pleasant with him, even though heâs gone and done something again (like he so often does) that isnât polite, that washes away any less positive emotions.Â
of course the florist was a nice person though, someone who made the flowers have a second life in such a lovely manner could only be just as wonderful themselves. and her smile, that is contagious, even to alice, the man who seems to live with his head perpetually in the clouds.Â
âbut why ever not?â he asks with his own bright smile, a boyish sort of grin, as he makes himself put those hands behind his back again. the blond rocks back and forth on his heels with some of the extra energy that heâs feeling right now. âi would very much like to watch. i would like to watch you make an arrangement for yourself. because that is what you do, is it not? i can see it easily, that you do this for your own love. donât you? althoughâŠÂ
âhm,â he seems to come to a consideration, head ducking down a little as his lips firm up just slightly in thought. he looks up again, curiously, at the florist. âi wonder what the flowers would have to say about being made for me?âÂ
while he spoke, sojin already had all sorts of designs and flowers in her headâwhite daisies to symbolize the young manâs âinnocenceâ, for he had seem somewhat like a pure child to her with the way his attention easily gets caught by the different flowers, each showcasing their own beauty. peonies... yellow peonies, reason being is because they were rare. the way he was extraordinary as well. finishing with a lovely touch of pink peruvian liliesâsymbolizing friendshipâsomething she had suddenly wanted to achieve with the young man. she almost finds herself getting lost in thought, rather thrilled with inspiration as she soon headed off to gather the materials. the idea that someone was thereâcompletely clad in an attention-catching fashion, take noteâhas completely slipped her flora-filled thoughts. âoh my, I almost forgotâdo you have any flowers in mind?â she asked, grabbing her tools as she did.Â
after a moment, she returned and laid freshly cut flowers on her table, carefully examining each and everyone of them as she visualizes in her head. she had never wanted to give someone a gift so much. he gave her motivation to do soâhe was among the few who noticed sojinâs talent in arranging flowers. she had felt very thankful and touched with the way he has showed his happiness towards something that most people would refer to as âjust an ornamentâ. to sojin, it was more than that. she had spent time and effort putting up different flowersârepeating whenever the end product didnât come out well, getting a little sad whenever it looks worse than she had expected, or whenever someone declines her work. it was a critical hit to her confidence, yet she never stopped. now, she had found someone who was willing to take some time of his day to watch and appreciate.Â
âflowers are really nice to look at,â she blurted out at random, a small smile plastered across her lips. âtheyâre even better when you have someone to look at them with,â she added. she suddenly went off to the back of the shop, walking out a few minutes later with a lovely porcelain tea pot in her grasp. âI hope you donât mindâyou know, err... aesthetic?â she uttered out, although uncertainâshe pushed on further with her plan. soon, it started to fill with foliage, adding on it layer by layerâand it that moment, she was in her element. she had completely lost herself in the luxury of creation.

{ zwxsojin }Â
Before he steps into the shop, Key lingers in front of the entrance, trying to think his decision over. Was he actually really ready to take care of plants. Plants werenât inanimate. They needed care and affection, much like a pet. But then againâ Key does want to have a pet soon, so maybe he could take it as some sort of training to see how well heâd fare with taking care of a live being. Satisfied with his conclusion, Key steps into the shop, trying his best to look like he actually knew what he was doing. His eyes runs over the various displays in the shop, and he immediately moves away from the bouquets and towards the small section of the shop which housed potted plants and flowers. Whichâ well, they were all very pretty but Key doesnât know what they are for. He looks around the flower shop, trying to locate any sign of a worker or an assistant, only to be met with none.Â
Wellâ maybe his followers could help? Taking out his phone, he snaps a few photos of the flowers, placing them all in a collage before posting it on his social media account, asking for help from them on his caption. He stands there for a second, sure that he was starting to look more and more like an idiot just by staying still, but it wasnât as if he has any idea on how to start.Â
The soft sound of footsteps breaks Keyâs staring contest with a brightly colouredâ daisy? Maybe. Daisies were the only flowers he knew, anyway, aside from the common rose. He quickly turns to the source of the footsteps, and feels himself smile in happiness at the sight of an employee. âAhâ helloââ He calls out, âMiss, can I ask for help?â
her eyes had focused at the man entering her shop, eying him quite curiously as he roamed. he was different from her usual customers. he looked like the type to be always busy and it had her questioning what his intentions were. at first, she assumed that he most likely went in for a flower-arranging request, but seeing how he lingered among the potted plants on display, she thinks itâs something else. a plant? perhaps? it did not seem like it but who knows?
her thoughts had completely wandered off that he had her rushing towards him, a bright smile plastered upon her lips while she brushed locks of her hair behind her ear. âhow may I be of service?â she chimed once she had approached the young man. âare you interested in one of our plants?â she uttered out, gesturing towards the pot of daisies he was gazing at earlier. âamongst all the flowers I know off, I think daisies are really nice and easy to take care of.â she added as she tugged the pot closer, fingers sliding along the stems as she leans in slightly and carefully examines it. âthey symbolize purity, innocenceâmuch like of a childâs.â she spoke as she straightened up. âthey represent cleanliness too, as well as grace,â she nodded, although she finds herself laughing in an embarrassed manner, thinking that sheâs been chattering too much.
âmaybe youâd like succulents too, those are really, really easy to take care ofâyou only have to water them every once in a while,â she added once more, her voice rather animated and lively. â...or perhaps you have something else in mind? Iâm pretty sure we have them, more or less... so...â

sojin has been quite the hard worker these daysâespecially with the amount of request she does all by herself, after allâpowerplant is a one-woman shop, at the moment. she handles everythingâfrom arrangements, to taking care of the nursery, to stocking up on the other goods. yet the moment she comes home, it doesnât actually stops from that. sheâs left cleaning the house whenever her lover is gone and once she does come home, their only conversation is how their day went and  it ends once sojin falls asleepâshe always does first. all the diligence and effort had taken a toll on sojinâs healthâyet, she doesnât seem to notice. she believed that as long as she ate well and was happy, nothing was to happen. it was a stupid belief but she was able to live twenty-nine years of her life relying on it. little that she knew, it was slowly pushing back to her old selfâher weak self. you see, as early as she can remember, she was already as frail as she was now, perhaps even more.
it grows evident that one night she returned from powerplant. she was too tired to eat or even talk that she headed straight to their bedroom to fall asleep. the first few hours were fine but suddenly, she could feel a different kind of weight on her chest. it tightened and she found herself almost unable to breathe. her eyes shot openâawake and feeling rather suffocated. heavy breaths slipping past her lips as she starts to panic, her eyes in tears while her hands try to feel up the night stand in hopes of finding her inhaler, although she keeps knocking things off of it instead.

[â...]
he looks almost adoringly at the flowers for a moment, before heâs turning to the florist herself to turn that particular gaze upon her hands. the very instruments of creation here of course they were. he reaches out to touch those hands, forgetting⊠without asking permissionâŠ
the young man had his way into picking at sojinâs interestâthe way he converses with the flowers had her smiling in complete awe. âitâs a shame that it has to be taken from its roots just to display its beauty,â she uttered, her tone was somewhat fused with guilt, her expressions rather animated with the way she rubbed the back of her nape. âthey really are lovely, itâs one of the perks of being a floristâI get to see beauties like this everydayâeven make them, and isnât that like a dream come true? to create something thatâs very lovely?â she added. her eyes sparkled the way stars in the night sky did, she was intrigued and excitedâshe had never found someone that had the same fascination with plants as she did, no one really did understand her interest, even as a child. her peers were often convinced that they were âjust plantsâ, nothing more, nothing less. her love for these plants and flowers, just like a baobab tree, was deeply rooted into her heart. anyone would be surprised of how this takes up a large part of sojinâs life (and everyone elseâs, like, hello, oxygen?).
she takes note of how his hands were placed behind his back, slyly taking a peek, enough to see but not enough to be noticed. she sees them rather eager to feel, although she dismisses it as a figment of her imagination, after all, this man was proper and well-mannered. he wouldnât go around touching stuff, right?Â
thatâs where sojin was completely wrong. with his sudden movement, she finds her handsâalmost completely covered with various colored plastersâin his. growing flusteredâevident with the way her face suddenly grows pink, she freezes in place unable to speak only to suddenly pull her hands away, an embarrassed laugh escaping her lips. even though she did not want the atmosphere to grow more awkward, it seemed to happen anywayâas if it was purposely happening against her wishes. looking up at the young man, she tries to break off the ice once more. âarenât they soft? I use quality hand lotion!â she suddenly blurts out, forcing a smile as she clasped her hands together, turning away rather quickly towards her most recent work, hands working on fixing the arrangement once again, despite the fact that she had finished working on it just minutes ago.Â
just then, a sudden idea sparked in her mind. yet still embarrassed, she turns to him, flashing him a wide smile. âby the way, do you want me to arrange flowers for you?â she asked, even though it seemed rather useless with the way he was just focused on how she worked. âI mean, youâre not here just to watch, are you?â she chimed, letting a soft laugh escape her lips afterwards.Â
 zwjoon:
zwxsojin Joon was cuddled up on the sofa with one of Sojinâs plushies in his arm and a television remote control on the other. âHmmm⊠nothing interestingâŠâ He mumbles to himself. He gave into boredom and tossed both items that were in his arms up into air before he twirls his body around the length of the sofa. Well, how did he get into Sojinâs apartment you ask? Well, he simply had a spare key. Sojin had been by his side for as long as he knew. Although they were as close as brothers and sisters could be, they were completely unlike one another. A grin creeped onto his lips as an idea emerges among his mischievous thoughts. With a few strings and that smart little brain of his, he placed a water bucket that would âbamb!â  fall once the door was wedged open. He settled his butt in a corner, peering from it and his fingers paused on his lips in nervous excitement, as he waited.Â
sojin is quick to notice the pair of shoes lazily placed by the door. she could only shake her head to herself, âheâs here again, oh my,â she mumbled to herself, although still unsuspecting of whatâs to come to her. as she stepped closer, she could already hear the television through the door. the moment she turns the knob and pushes the door open, she was in complete shockâthe bucket struck her right on the head, although the only major harm it would cause is might probably be a swelling on her head. she was conveniently positioned to the side which is why her sleeve was the only thing that got doused on by joonâs little prank.Â
she only rubbed the top of her head, her nose scrunched as she made her way towards the kitchen. âI suppose youâre here to welcome me?â she muttered out, soon tugging her cardigan off and setting it on the counter, busying herself with cleaning up once she walked out with a mop. ânext time, do a prank that doesnât make so much of a mess, you little punk,â she uttered out, blowing out slightly in an attempt to  move lost strands of hair from her face.Â
âhow did you even get in here in the first place?!â
Well hello there lady, you're looking fresh as a daisy!
oh my~ {/she breaks into a soft laugh, covering her cheeks with her hands as she looks up at you} you look lovely yourself, moon.

zwalice:
heâs standing and gazing about with the most polite of bodily displays, the language of his frame saying heâs a well mannered individual by the way his hands are held clasped behind his back, the way heâs leaning in to get a closer look of a flower arrangement here and there without putting a hand out to touch. and not only does he seem well mannered, but he also seems to be one who enjoys the flowers, judging by the way the light smile of delight never seems to stray from his lips, as well as how he lets his eyelids settle closed for a few seconds when a particular fragrance seems to strike his fancy.
if only his chosen attire and hairstyle supported such evidence of gentlemanly behaviors. because for as calm as he might seem, the complete contradiction that is his freshly bleached hair color, along with the style quite obviously inspired by past visual kei bands, his clothes loud in their colors with a pink unicorn patterned shirt and a set of yellow cargo pants, that seems to speak that serenity isnât ever something on his mind. and yet- yet here he is looking ever the peaceful figure with nary but pleasant tidings to bring. even the smile he shows the shopâs owner when she greets him is a lazy aired type, yet still bright and amiable sort of thing.Â
alice is often full of these things called contradictions though.Â
âhmmmm?â its a hum from his throat, a mildly confused or perhaps amused sound, before he blinks to himself and seems to come up with an answer to her question. âhelp? you want to help more?â this is funny to alice, because in his mind, sheâs already helped him a great deal just by having her shop available for looking at. though, he does seem to think of something a moment later, his eyes going a tad more focused as he looks at the owner as if it were here idea and not his own request.
âcould i see where you create? where you make all the different flowers sit together so nicely? they look quite happy despite being dead now.â
she believed that she was not in the place of meddling with other peopleâs business yet she couldnât help but find herself rather curious of the manâs motives. however, sojin could only raise a brow the moment he started to speak. his voice was rather calm and soothing while his actions were rather mannerly. it was a large contrast to his appearance. it was vibrantâshe liked it very much, it greatly reminded her of yellow lilies and pink roses. for some reason, she could feel the air suddenly getting lighter, and in an instantâher worries are close to nothing. of course, she had to think about how neatly the flowers were arranged, the mixture of scents can be quite nauseating towards some who canât stand strong aromasâand powerplant was filled with them. and of course, she thought he had a requestâa rather bizarre one, seeing that heâs the type to sport flashy appearances.Â
the sudden request has her widening her eyes.  she did not expect thatâperhaps he had the same fascination as she has towards flowers. âuh, yes, well, itâs my job,â she uttered out, at a loss for words with his statement. âhead this way,â she added as she then guided him towards her workspace just by the corner of the establishment. she tries to tidy up the moment she remembers how messy it was. leaf trimmings here and there along with clipping of what seems to be colored paper and silk ribbons. an embarrassed laugh escaped her lips, scratching the side of her head as she spoke. âeh, itâs niceâthough itâs not really tidy,â she uttered as she set her tools and her current piece aside.
âalthough it takes time cleaning, itâs very relaxing.â she added as she stared down at her newest pieceâthe one she was working on earlier. it was in a large vase, with burgundy petunias aligned along the mouth of the vase while pink peonies graced the inner layer, finishing off with a set of white roses placed at the center. she finishes off as she took one of the spray bottles, pressing at the device only for it to sprinkle some water along the petals, leaving a somewhat dewy effect.Â
âyou know, itâs funny that we find flowers attractiveâalthough we cut them anyway.â
Coming into the flowery haven, Alice doesn't seem to be doing anything in particular besides a very investigative sort of browsing. Which is odd, because their shops are not to far from one another and he's certainly been here before. And yet here he is, looking about the place politely as if he's not ever set foot into the walls of the florist before.
she comes to a halt from doing her usual errands the moment she notices the man, standing quietlyâobservingâat the center of the shop. sojin could not help but rush towards him, assuming that heâs been standing there for a while now. embarrassed, she bows her head repeatedly. âhow may I help you?â she uttered, her voice was rather uncertain, especially since she could not read the latterâs expression properly.
