2014
The day has finally come. The day Leon has been waiting for since meeting you. Your wedding.Â
You chose to have a rather private ceremony, just with closest friends. A small venue fitted perfectly with both your lifestyles. Your favourite flowers were decorating the benches, you had your best friends as your maids. Then, you were supposed to have a quiet dinner in the diner where your first date was held. Everything was stitched up, just like both of you dreamed. It was even better than a dream, because it was all real.
Leon was standing at the altar, peacefully waiting for the moment when you would walk out. Certainty bloomed inside him, he was waiting for this day for so long and it was finally here. As he heard the bells and music started playing, the doors opened to reveal your beautifully made wedding dress. Leon felt himself tearing up a little at the sight. Like it was the first time you two met. You slowly made your way up to him, but as he looked at you - he realized you werenât happy. Thatâs when he felt something was wrong. Why werenât you smiling? It was supposed to be the happiest day of your life.
As you stood before him, he slowly took off your veil in anticipation. He was curious how you did your makeup, how you did your hair. But as he did that, he saw a rather uncomfortable expression on your face.
Sadness. Frustration. Disappointment. Regret.
You do not want this. You are unhappy with him by your side
Leon woke up with a gasp, trying desperately to catch a breath. Another night, another similar dream. With your silhouette haunting his mind. But you broke up with him years ago, why were you still there?
He looked at the clock. 1:00 am. Still early enough to go on a walk. As he got dressed up and left his apartment, the cold wind hit his face - âshouldâve brought a jacketâ, he thought to himself as he began wandering around the neighborhood. Eventually his feet brought him towards the bar. The one that saw him much more often than any other place. After spending some time thinking if it was a good idea, he finally decided on entering the place. A drink or two wonât hurt, right? And he knew he wonât be able to fall asleep again, so maybe alcohol will help him a little.Â
As he slowly drank his whiskey, he started looking around the place. It was Friday night, so obviously there were a lot of people around. Some doing a pregame before going to the local nightclub, some drinking their sorrows away - like Leon. He sat there for another hour or so - making smalltalks (even though he hated them) with a bartender, looking around the bar to find someone interesting enough to forget about the loneliness of his apartment - before deciding on coming back to his place. Whiskey helped as much as it could, maybe now was the time to get some sleep.Â
The night was rightfully peaceful even with so many people outside. The sky was clear and the full moon decorated it almost eternally. Neons that were hung above the entrances made the street look like from the scifi book. Almost poetic in its form.Â
As Leon exited the place and was trying not to bump into anyone, his eyes caught onto something rather interesting. Something he thought he lost a long time ago - a black, worn out, leather jacket. But that wasnât the most fascinating part. What was important was the person wearing it. A person who haunted his dreams, hair he will never forget and will recognize even in the dark - you. Standing there, looking as beautiful as ever, not knowing the fact that his heart stuttered faster.Â
As he looked at you, he realized you were with someone, a man he didnât recognize. Gaining all the courage that somehow left him at the moment, he decided on approaching you, thinking how to start a conversation. Maybe some kind of a joke? You always said it was your favourite feature of his.
âMind giving me back my jacket or should I call your mother?â as soon as those words left his mouth, he cursed himself mentally. But he saw you smiling a little and that helped me.
You introduced the man who was with you, some kind of a fuck friend. Leon finally had the opportunity to take a closer look at him - expensive clothes, perfectly trimmed hair and beard, fancy watch. The type of a guy you could see in the first page of Forbes magazine.
âHow are you? Still surviving?â you asked, so innocently, as if you werenât the reason he couldnât get up from bed in the morning.Â
âYeah, somehow I guess..â he could see that the answer didnât really satisfy you, as if you knew the outcome and his real state. What surprised him more than seeing you at this hour here, was what you told the man.
âYou know him, my old stalkerâ you whispered, but Leon could still make out your words.
And before he realized, he felt a hard punch directed precisely at his face. The impact was surprisingly strong and the outcome was him on the ground, trying to stand up even if he felt like shit. Although he guessed that alcohol helped him a little with numbness, he also felt that if it wasnât for it, he could dodge the punch.
Because of the drumming in his ears, the effect of the hit, he didnât hear you properly. But he figured out that you probably told the guy to fuck off, âgoodâ he thought when he saw him leaving the two of you. Thanks to the alcohol in his system, he didnât feel the blood that was painting his face at the moment. After a minute or so, he saw you kneeling next to him. The contrast between his hot face and your cold hands was striking, but in a weird way - also comforting.
It took him back to the years earlier, when you two met. Because to be honest, you could describe your relationship that way - the constant contrast.Â
What hurt him more than the punch he had just taken, was your words that came off next. Like poison running through his veins, or like being struck by lightning - âBy the way, it's been a while - have you had any contact with Peter?â.
2001
The rain was slowly beginning to fall from the dark clouds that were hanging above the town all day. Typical weather for the early autumn in this part of the country. Leon had just left his apartment when he realized that bringing an umbrella would be a good idea. Well, he didnât have any energy to go up the stairs now, so heâll just have to be quick. As he was walking between the pedestrians and nearing the only open shop at this ungodly hour, he spotted the only person near the entrance of said place. The dark silhouette of a woman, holding an umbrella and smoking a cigarette. In some kind of way, at the same time - mysterious and appealing. His eyes met hers, and he felt like a wave of tingling went through his body.Â
Entering the shop, he realized that it would actually take him at least a good minute before coming out. The line was pretty long and the older lady, who was first in line, was chatting with a cashier like there was no tomorrow. So, naturally, he joined the line, patiently waiting for his turn, after grabbing whatever liquor he came for. It was a bad habit of his - after whatever shit that happened in the Raccoon City, he developed some kind of connection with whatever that had alcohol in it. Maybe it was because he didnât find anyone to talk to, he turned to the only thing that wouldnât leave him easily. As he was looking around, trying to entertain himself, he spotted the girl again. The same weird sensation pulsed through his body. Once again their eyes met, and a little smirk appeared on her face, before she disappeared.
As the line moved after some time, Leon was finally the one who got to have his groceries scanned. The cashier looked at the bottles and then at Leon, looking like he was thinking whether he should ask for ID or not. To be honest Leon looked pretty young, so it was not surprising if he was asked to show one. After a moment, he finally landed on the answer.
âCan I see some ID?â before the question was asked, Leon was already looking for it in his pockets. Unfortunately, as it appeared, in all the rush he left his apartment, not only did he forget an umbrella, but also his ID. He looked at the cashier with pleading eyes, but that didnât seem to help. âSorry kid, canât sell you thisâ he said, as he dismissed Leon.Â
Leon sighed and left the store. The rain thankfully turned out to be just a drizzle. He started thinking about what he will do now, his plans for the late evening were pretty simple, but now it was a little complicated. Looking around for any options, because he didnât want to come back to the apartment and sit alone sober, the doors to the store opened. As he looked behind his shoulder, he realized that it was the same girl from before, exiting the place. There was a plastic bag in her hand, and as he looked at it, he spotted the bottle he tried to buy earlier, alongside a new pack of cigs. She slowly walked towards him, a smile appearing at her face.
âSaw you tried buying this stuff? Well, here you goâ she said as she handed him the bag. âOh wait, those are mine, unless you smoke?â
âNahh, you can keep themâ a shy smile appeared on his face as he blushed. âYâknow I was a cop, I could cause you some trouble for buying alcohol for people without IDâ he said, trying to sound confident. Now that he could get a good look at her face, he realized how pretty and intimidating she looked. Her hair appeared almost eternal with the wind going through them and street light illuminating one side of her.
âTrying to sound confident, even though you looked like a kicked puppy when that cashier denied selling you this? Very brave I must sayâ she started, giggling âMaybe you could give me your phone number instead, huh?â
When Leon heard that, he couldnât believe it at first. Maybe he misheard her? She couldnât be asking for his number right? He stared at her for a minute, before he realized he left her without any answer. Smiling from ear to ear, he quickly grabbed the pen from her hand, which he didnât even realize she had, and wrote down his number and name on her arm. When he finished, she looked at it for a second, before continuing.
âWell, Iâll see you around, Leonâ with which she started walking away, giving space for him to zone out again. He didnât even ask for her name, but he already felt like he had fallen in love with her.
After that night, everything that happened was like a dream come true for him. They went on a date to a pretty cheap place, got a special offer on some wine no one wanted to buy, and then they found a roof above the neighbourhood where they could drink it.
Accompanied by the hustle and bustle of the city, cars roaming around and pedestrians trying to reach their destination - they observed every bit of a movement, making chitchat and smoking a cigarette, well only you, because he refused. Leon really felt like he was in heaven, or he was in the best dream he could possibly think of.Â
He was fascinated by you. Already thinking about the ring, even though you started dating like a week ago. Everything felt so refreshing with you by his side. Even with his training and all the shit he had to go through, you were the only thing on his mind. He could finally forget about the terrors he had seen.
2004, some time after Spain
Leon was finally home after another draining day at the office, filling reports. At least here he didnât have to worry about his life, right? After whatever that happened in Spain while trying to rescue the president's daughter Ashley, the only thing he seeked was you and your warmth. Just thinking about the fact that nowadays he could find some kind of safety within the walls of your shared apartment, made him smile a little. Even though he knew that his archnemesis was also waiting for him - bottle of whiskey.
He was aware of his problem, but thereâs so little another human being can do. He knew you tried to help him as much as you could - late night talks, just holding him tight in your arms so he knew he wasnât alone and that he survived. But at some point it wasnât enough and the bottle always helped him.
So, when he was finally home and he realized that you were already sleeping, he turned towards the cabinet. A sip of two wouldnât hurt him, right? Well, more like after half the bottle he finally had enough. With an unsteady step, he started walking towards the bedroom. On the way there he abandoned his shoes, pants and jacket - he was too tired to shower, deciding he would do that in the morning. As he approached the bed, he realized how wavering his vision was. He couldn't make out your silhouette on the mattress, but he told himself it was because of how dark it was. With swift motion he landed face-first, not bothering to even cover himself with a duvet.Â
The morning came much faster than he anticipated. One moment he closed his eyes and was taken by his dreams, next he felt the rays of sunshine peaking through the curtains. Next thing he could sense was the smell of coffee, which meant you were already up. Groaning a little, he managed to get up and make his way towards the kitchen.
As he approached the end of the hallway, he saw you sitting on one of the stools with a mug of coffee in your hand and his bottle of whiskey next to you. He cursed under his nose and entered the space, saying a quick âmorningâ to you and grabbing his own mug. A wave of embarrassment hit him like a headache which also appeared the moment he woke up.Â
âI wonât repeat what Iâve told you already, yâknow?â you started, your voice not showing much emotions. âBut just for the record, you werenât hit on the head and got dementia?â
He couldnât answer that, because he was already aware that you knew the answer. You asked just to say something. That was a thing he adored about you at first - you were always the one to talk, always the one to start conversations, even though you didnât agree on that.Â
âIâm sorryâ
âHeard that one already tooâ you sighed. âShouldâve listened to Markâ you added under your breath, not being aware that he heard you.
âWho?â he asked, his voice showing a mix of anger, confusion and fear.
âMy friend. Who you met, multiple times actually. The one thatâs gay for your informationâ you stated, already irritated. âYâknow what I donât understand? You always ask me about my previous relationships, fuck buddies and friends. Searching for anything that could make you jealous, like youâre thriving on the adrenaline of making me feel bad because I actually had some kind of social life before you. But when I asked you about Claire you went all defending, acting weird when I had some questions. It starts to irritate me and I donât know if I can handle it anymore.â
âWhat are you trying to say?â he asked, acting like he didnât know what you were trying to say.
âYou canât put up this facade with me. I was understanding and all, but at some point itâs too much even for me. I think this is where it comes to end, Leonâ when his name left your lips, he had already fallen to his knees. Coming next to you with a desperate try to talk some sense into you.
âNo please, you know I love you. Iâm sorry, I just⊠I couldnât believe you actually chose me, you know I was pretty insecure when we started dating. And I know what you say about alcohol, but really, itâs just unfair..â
âWhat?â
âWell, you have so much problem with my drinking problem, but you yourself - you donât see yourself being addicted to cigarettes. You always have a full pack by yourself, I donât even know how you smell without a cigarette odor around you. And donât get me started on the other smoking thing..â he tried to say it as politely and calmly as possible, but you werenât having it.
âOh really?â you started, the emotions you were built up with started going out of you. âWell, I donât know if you remember, but I did actually state that I have a nicotine addiction. You know that, you know that Iâve been trying to do something about it. But I donât think you know that Iâm just a civilian - I do not fight with bioterrorism on a daily basis yâknow? Instead I sit around here trying not to lose my mind over the fact that I donât know where you are and whatâs happening to you. Iâm sorry that from time to time I decide to let loose a little and roll a joint, but canât you understand it?â
Leon canât really recall when exactly that conversation was held. Hours became days, days blended into months. He remembers the hangover and the fact that you left - permanently. After whatever shit that happened between you, he didnât get better. Bottle became his best friend, he stopped answering from Claire and Chris, because he couldnât find the strength to care.
You were gone and with you - all the care he had for this world. He felt as if you were the only person that he could trust, that was able to help and care for him. So, he did what seemed reasonable at that time - he started looking out for you. Accidentally walking into the same coffee shop as you when you entered minutes ago, walking on the other side of the street - close enough to see you, not close enough to be recognized. From time to time he felt like a creep, but honestly? It also helped him getting around knowing that you were safe was a big thing for him. After months of mourning, he finally went out somewhere more interesting. Well, it was possible thanks to one person - Claire, who was very insistent on getting him out and he finally agreed for a meeting at the bar. Fate seemed to be on his side that day, because as soon as he entered the place, he saw you. Once again he was mesmerized by your beauty. Everything about you was just so perfect, he couldnât believe he couldnât call you his anymore. Looking at you all happy, surrounded by your girlfriends and many shots of whatever you were drinking, made him realize once again, how much he missed you.Â
But Claire didnât seem to notice you. She took his hand and led him towards the bar, ordering beers for both. He wanted to leave already. He didnât even realize when some random man started talking to Claire. All flirty, with all of this âtough, impossible to missâ aura around him. He got to know him as Peter, which didnât really suit him in Leonâs opinion but whatever. He wasnât in a mood to listen to all the flirting, but leaving Claire alone wasnât the smartest idea either. So, he decided on going to the bathroom, because it was the last place where he could meet you face to face.
After whatever time he spent there, he got a text from Claire stating that she had to leave - something about her brother. That meant heâs going home, not feeling guilty of anything. As he headed towards the exit, he heard your voice - loud and clearly. Turning around, hoping that you noticed him and wanted to talk, he was quickly met with disappointment. Not only you didnât see him, you were getting pretty close to Peter, who was whispering in your ear, definitely something to get you going. Leon felt as if he was stabbed with the knife. All those knives that were put into Caesarâs body couldnât hurt as much as what Leon was feeling at the moment.
2014
Asking about him was a final straw for Leon. The rage, fury and angriness - that were the only emotions in him at the moment. Why, after all these years, the first thing you say to Leon is about him. Enough is enough. Heâs going for revenge now.Â
At this moment Leon was grateful for the advanced technology his position was giving him. Getting a new phone with a new number, that couldn't be tracked, was the easiest part of the plan. Tracking your new phone number - even easier. A little bit of work and he will succeed.
The plan? Pretty simple - become Peter. Because if you donât want to do anything with Leon, then youâre surely willing to do something with him. In the evening he already had every information he needed and so, everything started. You and Peter will become a part of his game.
P: Are you sleeping, queen? 23:38
Y: omg, you alive? thatâs ridiculous. 1:13
P: Why u awake? wyd, writing poetry? 1:14
Y: i heard some bad news, so ive been drinking since like 1pm
its late and i know i wont fall asleep
P: I don't know what happened to you today, but I can be your medicine.Â
Y: but you said you didnt want me
P: That was a lie.
âSo, she started drinkingâ Leon thought as he reread your texts. Youâre so naive, you have no clue whatâs going on. In some kind of a way, itâs cute. Now, he just needs to lead you on as long as he can, so you can know how he felt when he first saw you with him, right after you broke up with him. Because at that time, he felt like you cheated on him. As if you were waiting to release yourself from him, so you could run straight to another man.
Y: youre texting at an interesting moment, i literally ran into him yesterday. 2:01
P: Is he following you again? 2:01
Y: dont know, maybe, he still loves me for sure 2:16
i was with a friend, he got punched in the face - that was kinda funny, he looked like a scared puppy
P: Iâm sure of it
Y: i thought i would never see you, suddenly you appear in a flash
im drunk, but i have to say that i loved you like no one elseÂ
P: I donât know why I left, but believe me motorcyclist - Iâm still hung up on you, just give me a chance.
Y: i see
i have a question tho, a rather stupid one
cause, how did you know i was wearing a leather jacket?
âOh fuckâ Leon said under his nose. First mistake, not good. How will he get out of that?
Y: its his btw, ill tell you when weâll meet
P: Are you still thinking about him?
Y: doesnât keep me awake at night, if thatâs what you asking
Itâs been a week since he first texted you and in his head, everything was going smoothly. Although he had to seek help with some kind of an AI tool - which might be only for military usage - it went even better. You said he was reading your mind!
But now he was, once again, walking around the neighborhood, his steps influenced by whiskey. Although he had a little vacation from work, the thoughts about it never left him. And when you werenât there for him, it was just stacking up on itself - problem after problem, thought after thought. Thankfully now he could at least text you, even if he was doing this as Peter, it was better than having no opportunity at all. His phone buzzed with a new message from you.
Y: Peter why u asking me about the jacket again? its like 15th time 18:46
Maybe he shouldnât be drinking that much. Or maybe he just shouldnât do all of that, shouldnât text while he wasnât sober. His mind was fogged, he was lost. What was he supposed to do now? Sure, you were texting and it was great, but what next? And now you were asking about the meeting. Fuck, he canât do it. What is he supposed to tell you? âOh hey, I know you thought you were texting someone else, but surprise!â He was fucked. It was decided - he was meeting you tomorrow, in a pub connected to the bar, where he first saw you after all those years.
It was time. His legs felt heavier with every step he took. The sun was slowly disappearing behind the buildings, telling about the approaching night. The moon was almost invisible, as if it was hiding from the consequences. Leon wished he could disappear. As he was nearing the place, he noticed you sitting by yourself close to the window. No one inside except for you, as if telling him how fucked he was. Maybe itâs for the better, at least no one will hear their conversations.Â
Anxiety creeped throughout his body. The mindset of a soldier, who was fearless in fighting bioterrorism, now evaporated elsewhere. He felt as if he was back in the Raccoon City, but without all of the zombies. Not knowing whatâs waiting for him behind the doors.Â
Taking a seat right in front of you, he expected some kind of confusion on your face. Wait, what? Why are you staring at him like that? Why are you not surprised? Did you play him? Did you defeat him? Whatâs happening?
Was he so absorbed by his own âgeniusâ plan that he didnât notice you knew? As he was looking at you in awe, you started speaking, because you wanted to get over it.
âI smelled the trick a long time ago, yâknow? I knew he wasnât there and that Iâm talking to you. I know that opinions are divided about Peter, but he could at least put sentences together. Here, I felt like I was talking to a robotâ you started, answering to his panic with coldness. âIâll explain something, so listen. Itâs pretty normal to search for someone else to blame when thereâs some sort of a problem. But the reason for our break up wasnât Peter - youâre obsessive and possessive. Which I told you about, but you didnât listen. Youâre the only innocent one, everyone else is guilty, huh? These constant, eternal hangovers - weekend after weekend. I was getting tired and you didnât want my help. For some time I understood why youâre turning for the bottle, I mean, I can only imagine the horrors you went through. But you werenât listening to me or to anyone who wanted to help you and I had enough.â you took a big breath before continuing. âItâll be better for everyone if we just be dead for each other, donât you think?â
He felt as if he was slapped in the face. It finally came to him, what your words really meant. But he still couldnât wrap his head around the fact that heâs supposed to forget you. How? Itâs impossible, he tried that already. But maybe thatâs actually what he needed to hear. Because when you left years ago, you didnât state that this way. Now he was presented with straight facts. Then it hit him - while he was having breakdown after breakdown, you were healing yourself from him. You were moving on.Â
Somehow you still ended up at his apartment. You had told him that itâs the last time you are seeing each other. His lips were on yours, hungrily waiting for something bigger. Teeth clenched against each other, hot breaths combining together. You pushed him onto his bed, taking off his shirt beforehand. He propped himself onto his elbows, looking at you with all the desire that built up over the years. He almost had you there.
You took off the jacket, his jacket, holding it in your hands for a moment. Knowing that at this moment all of this ends. Maybe in the back of your mind, you were also clinging to the thought of him. Maybe you didnât get rid of the jacket because you wanted a piece of him still in your life. But this situation, the one that started a little over a week ago, showed you why your instincts were telling you to burn it. To throw it away and never look back. As Leon looked at you for all this time, you finally locked your eyes with his. But what you did next, surprised him. Throwing the jacket at him with all the strength you had in yourself and all the emotions that were inside you since the moment you realized, he was behind Peter.
âKarma will follow you for that resurrection jokeâ you shout as youâre making your way towards the front door, hearing Leonâs heavy footsteps behind you.
âWhat? Where? Who?â
âPeter, he was drunk and got into an accident. Heâs been dead for some time nowâ you stated, looking at him. âOh and by the way, youâre gonna be dead next. Youâll be prosecuted for cyberstalking.â
and that's it for now vampire babies <3

The first time it happened, it was a casual hook-up. A one-night stand.
You met him in a local bar, drinking his sorrows awayâyou guessed. But he was pretty, and you were (admittedly) weak for pretty guys, so when temptation goes hand in hand with stupidity and bad decisions? It was a no-brainer that equates to disaster.
You sat beside him, equipped with nothing but liquid courage and a thirst for biceps. That shouldâve raised red flags in his mind, but he doesnât seem to care; that works to your favor.
âWhatâs a pretty guy doing here, all alone?â You played coy, flagging the bartender for a drink while (not-so-subtly) looking at him to see if he'll take the bait.
ââŠâ No response. It seemed as if he was stuck in his own lonely world.
âGoldilocks?â You tried again, deadset on getting his attention, even if he's straight up refusing to give you a crumble.
ââŠMe?â He gruffed. Oh? That got a reaction out of him.
The stranger took another shot, stubbornly refusing to glance at youârefusing to give the attention you craved.
âOf course, you.â You chuckled, refusing to give up.
âSorry, didnât know.â He grunts. What a broody man.
âGirlfriend dumped you?â
Hook, line, and sinker. That made him pause. Must've hit a nerve.
âThat's your way of asking if I have one?â He replied with a scoff, a petty smirk making itself known.
âYouâre cute. Got me already.â You hummed, aiming to catch him off guard.
That got him to finally look at you. His eyes widen a fractionâbarely even noticeableâas a light flush dusts his cheeks.
âHow would I get you if I donât even know your name?â He countered, finally having the courage to respond.
âDamn, youâre smooth.â You whistled, giving your name with a grin. Fuck, he was finally interested.
âHm? What a pretty name,â he mumbled your name, a slight quirk lifting his lips. âSounds like your mother loves you.â
Now that⊠kinda made your heart speed up. As if you unknowingly signed a bound-for-life contract with a person whose name you donât even know, no less. You talked for hours; the conversation fell into a mad, easy rhythm. He looked familiarâas if youâve seen him somewhere before. You donât know when or where, but gosh, something about him felt unbearably enchanting. Like he bewitched youâletting him carve a hole in your heart with a sign that says âI live here now lolâ.
Well, thatâs a one-way ticket to enter his home.
No, seriously, he did take you to his apartmentâsorry, penthouse. It was nearby, and neither of you was hammered enough to driveâit was relatively safe.
What happened after wasnât safe at all, though.
After his front door opened, lust resumed to cloud your minds. You felt his presence looming behind you, his hands steady on your waist. The moment the door closed? Heâs pouncing on you like an animal starved for weeks. Lips on lips, tongue to tongue, rough hands exploring the canvases of your bodies. His hand snuck on the back of your head, pulling you impossibly closer and angling his wet appendage even deeperâsweet sounds involuntarily leaving your throat, and he swallows it down like a champ. He tastes like a hint of mint and strong whiskey. God, you hoped the walls were thick.
Your hands slide inside his shirt with feather-like precision, moving from his soft pectorals (now hardened as you felt him flex) to his defined abdominal muscles. Six packs, you counted. You felt him shiver as your hands moved dangerously lower to where he needed you most.
He slowly, begrudgingly pulled away, panting as a string of saliva connected you. The erotic display made your head fuzzy with need, forgetting the fact that you literally didnât know his name. He could be a serial killer for all you care, but it doesnât matter as long as heâs giving you a taste of ecstasy.
âLeon.â He groaned, and your brain lagged, leaving you momentarily frozen. A small âhuh?â was all you could conjure.
âLeon Kennedy, the name youâll be screaming later, gorgeous.â He grunts, and a wide predatory grin settles on his face as he kisses you with the sameâif not moreâvigour as before.
His arm wandered behind your legs, effortlessly lifting you. You yelped, scrambling to hold him tighter. All that bastard did was laugh, nosing and playfully biting your stomach. Hard to be annoyed when he quite literally rocked your world moments after. You couldnât leave immediately after, even if you triedâyou felt like a fish walking in the sand for the first time with the way that your legs. just. wonât. work.
So you let him romance you with aftercare. Soft, fleeting kisses and gentle hands tidying you up.
The next day was far from different. Now, the reason why you couldnât walk away wasn't just because of your out-of-commission legs. You couldnât walk away simply because a manâLeon, as you've learntâhas you locked in his strong arms and hulking muscles. Every time you shift, his hold would get even tighter. And you couldnât even pry his hands off your waist; you tried it, and it was useless.
So, what did you do?
Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Nothing but placing your hand on his cheek while admiring him close up. His soft jawline, his disheveled hair perfectly framing his face, his soft, inviting lipsâanything, really. It was as if he was sculpted by the Goddess of beauty herself.
But then, you felt him shift. You were startled, quickly trying to pull your hand away. Keyword: trying. Because just as quickly, his large hand shot up to hold your smaller oneâinterwiningâkeeping it from trying to move. You squirmed; his other arm (from below your waist) trapped you in place. It was all too suddenâyour eyes widen a fraction as you feel him nuzzle into your warm palm, a soft sigh escaping him.
âHi,â Leon mumbled, locking eyes with you. His voice was rough, given that he had just woken up, but his eyes. His eyes held affection. Utterly devastating affection, just for you.
Now that made your insufferable heart ache.
And that, was the start of your situationship with a broody, corny, infuriatingly handsome man named Leon (Ass) Kennedy.
You ended the call, not even bothering to let him finish.
Itâs been months of this fuckass cat-and-fish game you didnât even know you were playing. Months of this on-and-off, months of this disappearing game, and gosh, youâre tired. Tired of him treating whatever you two have as nothing but a mere plaything; tired of your stupid, traitorous heart for always beating faster because of him; tired of yourself for letting him use you just as he pleases.
So yeah, youâre done. Youâve exhausted yourself, and itâs time to get your life back together.
Thatâs what you would say if you didnât hear a car pull out in your driveway and the bell ringing incessantly immediately right after.
When you opened the door (because admit it, you were kinda curiousâand maybe wanna play round two), all you saw were flowersâa bunch of them. A gorgeous floral arrangement, boxes of chocolates, and a puppy-eyed Leon Kennedy begging you to reconsider.
Safe to say, you were one big dumb down-bad idiot and did something more than just get back together (unofficially).
Heâs in one of his disappearing games again, dodging the topic of whatever it is that heâs doing for a living. You were honestly convinced that he was part of the mafia or something at some point, given the way he acted.
He said no, and you digress. The look of his offended face was something to coo over, blue-boba eyes staring at you like you have five foreheads and an antenna. You wouldâve smacked him if he werenât handsome.
But thatâs not the point, no.
The point is that when you inevitably call him (because you missed his clingy ass), a lady with a very pretty voice answers.
âLee, oh my god, where the fuck have you been?! Itâs been what, like five weeks with noââ
âHi! Sorry, not Leon. Heâs kinda busy at the moment, call back later. Bye!â
ââŠâ
âThat fucking bastard hung up!â You screamed in frustration, throwing your phone to god-knows-where.
You were livid.
Because of course, a pretty girl (you assume) will come running into his arms the moment you're out of the picture (and babe, girls still swarm him even if youâre in the pictureâwho are we kidding).
And because youâre kinda fucking crazy and maaaybe a stalker at birth, you checked the location of where the call was connected. Turns out it came from freaking Spain. That fucker was on vacation, in Spain, with a pretty girl (again, you assumed). Forgetting the fact that there was background noiseâwhich seemed eerily familiar with multiple gunshots and a crash, you really contemplated blocking him.
Like, okay, your thingy wasnât official-official, but câmon! You fucked, eat together, cuddle while watching sad-sappy dramas you know he hates, but sucks it up because you like it! Hell, he wipes your tears off, is your unpaid therapist, and ties your shoes for you! Both of you had a written agreement that signifies you, and he wonât be hooking up with anyone other than yourselves.
Have you, perhaps, misjudged the situation again?!
You spent five hours retrieving your phone from underneath the cabinet just to send a âweâre done, enjoy your next pretty ladyâ text. You donât even know how it got there, and you refuse to talk about how you got it out.
Leon responded with: âHey, pretty lady. I miss your pretty smile. Quit being pissy, yeah? Dinner on me?â after a week of deadbeat silence.
Youâd rather be caught dead wearing a potato sack than admit you sent a âwhenâ text back.
Waiting for a month to pass before you hit send, of course. You werenât that desperate.
In each corner you take, it looked like red and pink hearts were thrown up on the streets. And everywhere you looked, all you saw were couples eating each otherâs faces off. Itâs disgusting, really. Hated it, actually. Totally not thinking of Leon bringing you flowers and letting you decorate him with lipstick and bite marks. Totally.
So you clocked in at work.
As a barista whoâs in love with her job, one of your favorite things to do is those rare specials. As a person whoâs emotionally constipated and bitter, you hated doing hearts this very specific day.
It wasnât until you saw a very familiar blond from across the street that you stopped and stared for a few moments. Now, it wasnât unusual for him to wander around where you worked, but whatâs unusual is the fact that heâs talking to a lady with a small, infuriating smile on his face. You saw himâvery carefullyâreceiving a bouquet from her, treating it just as delicately. You saw the lady nudge him, and he chuckled in response before walking away.
Your eye twitched as your smile turned into a grimace, almost scaring the customer who had been trying to get your attention to order.
Your shift ended with you making wonky hearts and fake smiles throughout.
While you were exiting, you saw a familiar car parked along the pavement, and a familiar face half-asleep in the driver's seat. He was cute. That, youâll admit. You sneakily snapped a photo, forgetting the very cute fact that your flash was on. That woke Leon up, clumsily unlocking the door and stumbling out.
âNice nap?â you teased, a smile easily making its way to your face.
âYeah, waiting for you, actually.â He tried to be smooth. He really did. But the slight tremor in his voice revealed that he was nervous. He faked a cough, choosing instead to open his backseatâbeckoning you to come closer.
And when you did, the scene almost made your eyes tear up.
Because in his backseat was a huge fox stuffed toy holding a âwill you let me be your valentine?â sign propped with a very familiar arrangement of your favorite flowers, snacks, chocolates, and the like.
âSo⊠will you?â whispered Leon from behind you. You turned around and, god, he was so close you practically felt his breath fan your flushed face. You snaked your arms around his neck, pulling him to your height, and stared at his twinkling baby blues with nothing but adoration.
Then, you leaned to close the distance.
Your lips moved in sync, falling into a dance both of you unknowingly memorized as your glassy eyes fluttered shut. You felt him nip your bottom lip, making it part. His warm tongue explored your mouth, as if it were the first time he had the honor of doing so. Your tongues locked, meeting halfway. You felt him suck, swallowing your noises as he backed you to his car.
His hands wander to your waist, pulling you even closer. And the worst part? He was gentle. He was gentle all throughout. As if what you had were realâlabels be damned. You didnât even remember when you parted, just the warmth of his calloused hand that caressed your cheek with hearts in his eyes and a soft smile on his lips. He looked ethereal, with his blown-out pupils and golden hair that swayed with the wind.
âDoes that answer your question, Kennedy?â You asked, just as softly, afraid of dampening the surreal mood.
He laughed softly, and god, it was beautiful. You donât even think there was an ounce of ugliness in that man. Sure, he has his broody act, but god, it just makes him all the more endearing.
âLee, you didnât have to.â You drawled, your voice fading into a whisper. âJust your presence is enough.â
âI want to. Your smile makes it worth it,â he stated with enough conviction that made your heart bubble with love. Utterly devastating love. All for him. All for the mysterious man you walked up to in the bar that had too much love to give with no one to give it to.
âGod, you're sappy.â You shook your head, turning away from him to hide your rapidly blooming cheeks.
âYou love it.â Leon chuckled, turning your head back.
âDebatable.â
âWhat a pretty, pissy girlfriend you are.â He grinned, purposely letting the word linger.
Now that made you freeze, the gears of your head refusing to turn. âGirlfriend..?â
And that made Leon confused, slightly stepping back to give you space, but his hands were still firmly planted around you. âOf course, girlfriend. You donât think Iâll do this to someone Iâm not exclusive to, right?â
âHuh? Since when?!â You exclaimed, gripping the two openings of his jacket.
âBaby, I literally take you out on datesâweâre dating. The fuck you mean âwhenâ??â He looked at you, incredulouslyâas if you were the one making zero sense.
âIâwhaâyou never asked?!â You tugged, shaking him back and forth.
âWe talked about being exclusive!â
âYeahâexclusively fucking!â
âWe literally had thee talk.â He deadpanned, amusement lingering in his eyes.
âThatâs not how it works??!â
âWait, soâthe whole timeâyou donât think Iâm fucking yours?â The bastard had the audacity to laugh at you, making your blood flare up.
âFuckâyes??â
âBaby, thatâs insane. Are you okay?â
âIâyouâre enjoying this, arenât you?â
âSo much.â That earned him multiple smacks on the head and a shit ton of kisses that peppered all over his face right after.
Yeah, turns out, in the very deep and concerning mind of Leon S. Kennedy, the two of you were in a very much real, loving, and committed relationship. You just didnât know it yet.
He thinks it started the very first time you slept together.
And damn, it felt like Cupidâs arrow went straight to his heart and hit the bullseye.
Because from then on, he vowed to visitâat least maybe once a month. Yâknow, just to⊠observeâorder, drinks and pastries are good. Totally. Totally not because he was too much of a pussy to talk to you. For sure.
Thatâs also the reason why he felt as if Cupid came for round 2 when he saw you at the bar.
You were literally talking to himâgiving him attentionâand he didnât even notice that it was you, of all people. Itâs the whiskey, he swears, that made him undeniably bold. On any normal day, he wouldnât have the courage to talk to youâmore or less, flirt with you! Heâs a dangerous man living a dangerous life and working a dangerous job, for godssake! You could be in danger, and fuck, he doesnât want that. He doesnât want anything bad to happen to you.
But as hours passed by, he just couldnât help but indulge in a dangerous drug named you. The way your voice lifts when you talk about something that interests you, the way you unconsciously scrunch your nose when you catch a whiff of something strong, and Christ, the way you sweep your hair back so you can see clearly. It irks him. The way you do shit to him, and you. donât. even. notice.
He didnât even know what happened. One second, heâs learning about you in the bar, and the next, youâre in his sheetsâreeling from satisfaction: bathing in the afterglow. Leon couldnât let you go, even if he tried. You got him madly hooked. And heâs right where he wants to be. With you wrapped in his arms. With you tracing his scars, kissing him lovingly as if he deserved only the best in this godforsaken world.
âHi.â He nuzzled into your soft, inviting palm.
âYouâre awake? Sorry, I woke you up.â You were so damn warm. Your voice, a little gruff from sleep, makes his blood run in a different direction.
âItâs fine, knew you couldnât resist me. Not a bad way to wake up.â He teased, disguising his real, incoherent thoughts.
âHush, you look like a bad decision.â
âOne youâre willing to indulge in, yeah?â
âDebatable.â
He laughed, pecking the tip of your nose and pulling you even closerâhis head now resting on the top of yours, wishing for the moment to last forever.
Leon was with Sherry this time, on one of his off days. He wanted to visit his kidâ checked to see if everything was alright.
âLeon? Who was that?â Sherry asked, a bit curious. For her, it was weird seeing Leon look lovingly at his phone. It was weird seeing him on his phone in general, more so that heâs smiling as if someone hung the moon for him. As strange as it is, sheâs just glad that someone is making Leon act like an otter seeing the water for the very first time.
âMy girlfriend. Sheâs probably bored.â He replied, a small smile involuntarily appearing on his face. He canât help it; thatâs just your effect on him.
âYou have a girlfriend? Who? Since when??â She almost squealed, excitement flickering in her bright eyes.
âI know. Shocker, right?â
He picked up the call, expecting a barrage of âI miss you, come over?â or some rant about your ass netflix shows you couldnât help but watch, or maybe even that annoying regular that picks up fights with literally anyone.
What he didnât expect was an abrupt breakup call.
â⊠that was awkward,â Sherry faked a cough. âAre you⊠okay, though?â She winced, voice gradually becoming more of a whisper.
After a few beats of silence.
ââŠYeah, she justâdoes thatâIâm okay. Yup⊠Iâll justâ⊠Iâll see you later, kid?â
He doesnât know why or what compelled you to break up with him over a damn twenty-three-second phone call, but he sure as hell wonât be losing the absolute love of his life over some fucking boredom.
His mission was to save the Presidentâs daughter, Ashley Graham. Jesus, heâs glad sheâs already by his sideâhe canât fucking wait for the mission to be over.
The absurd call happened when he was literally fighting for his life. His phone mightâve fallen during whatever the fuck he was doing to survive (heâs kinda reckless, okayâbut valid), because all he saw was Ashley picking it up and talking to someone before quickly handing it back to him.
âSomeone called you. I guess they were worried.â
ââŠThereâs a reception here..?â He was more confused because how the fuck did a normal call connect easily when the comms with Hunnigan were choppy?
It wasnât until he felt a chill run down his back that he asked the dreaded, âWho was it?â
âAh, I didnât check. But it sounds like a girlâwait, do you have a girlfriend?â Ashley asked, a bit incredulouslyâand he couldnât stop the involuntary âshitâ that fell out of his mouth.
Oh. Oh fuck. Heâs fucked.
Because of course, your call would connect; thatâs just your effect.
If you knew he was basically kidnapped, would he be forgiven? Who was he kidding, he knew he wouldnât be telling you any of this when he got home. Not because itâs confidential as fuck, but because he canât bring himself to tell you all the ugly parts of his job. He canât bring you down with himâand if that meant forever keeping you in the dark with the horror he regularly goes through? Then so be it.
Heâd rather wait for a month than explainârecallâhe almost got killed for the umpteenth amount of time in Spain, and not experience the getaway you thought he had. Heâd rather whisper sweet nothings in your ear and have you in his arms than tell the tale that he got infected by a freaking parasite that ought to make him a mindless subordinate.
Heâd rather take you to a fancy dinner and be enamored by you once again, grovel at your feet, and give you a good time than to admit that he was forcefully employed by the government to keep his mouth shut about the horrors of bioweapons.
Yeah, heâd rather take the burn of your anger than have you worry if heâll live the next time he disappears again.
He might be selfish, but Jesus, what can he do if you unknowingly became his only salvation?
If becoming official meant going to court to pledge your undying devotion? Then so be it. Leonâs already got a beautiful ring in mind.
hey hey hey!! it's been a while, hasn't it? i'm afraid leon ass kennedy got me in a cage rn fighting for my life, apparently getting tagged-team w chris bulkfield as we speak. this was my third wip for this man n it's the first one to be published. i'm actually shocked bcuz this is like the longest anything i've ever fucking written, and it's also, BY FAR, the most suggestive one i've ever published. my mans been rotting my mind for a month now and gosh, i literally can't get out. hope you enjoyed reading this one as much as i've enjoyed writing it! also btw, no ai was used in this self-indulgent fic, i'm just an em dash warrior. as always, rbs are appreciated lmao ily

note: a little look into the past one could say
As Appa was flying through the night sky, the gaang was chilling as peacefully as they could. Because one thing happened that they didnât understand - Aang went missing alongside Momo and they couldnât find them. Thankfully for them, Zuko had the experience in finding Avatar, so now they were on their way somewhere - Zuko did not specify where.
âI wonât be able to fall asleepâ Katara said, the stress of Aang missing hit her the most, although everyone felt bad. Sozinâs comet was getting closer and closer, they didnât know what to do.
âAt least try, we all need to rest a little bitâ Zuko responded, even though he himself did not want to. âI will get us safely to our destination.â
He felt that Katara moved from the saddle and sat right next to him. The rest of the gaang was actually getting some kind of sleep, so her company didnât sound that bad.
âHow are you feeling after the meeting?â she asked softly, as if scared to say something he didnât want to hear.
âI donât know how to feel. Of course Iâm glad I found out that sheâs alive, but so many years went by. And after some time, I really told myself that she was dead. I mourned her Katara and then she told me that she actually saw me multiple times while I was chasing you. She never made herself knownâ he said quietly, some kind of anger could be heard from him.
âWait, how do you know about Ba Sing Se? Why are you not asking me about the scar?â he asked you curiously, not quite catching what was going on.
âOh silly, you thought I would just disappear and not know what was happening to you?â you started, laughing a little. However, Zuko did not look like he was joking. âYou probably already know that I left the capital after my parents died, but you might not know how that happened. You see, your lovely father heard from someone in the palace that I was a distraction to you, that I was the problem for your firebending. After rumours circulated for some time, he was furious and assigned some guards to âtake careâ of me and my family. Unbeknownst to him, I managed to run away. It all happened while you were on vacation with your family, you couldnât have known.â you started, your voice carrying some sadness. âWhen I finally left the city walls, I was lost. I was just a little girl, who was grieving her parents and couldnât even bury them. I walked for months, trying to secure my place somewhere. When I was staying in this little village on the outskirts of the Fire Nation, I heard the news about the prince being banished, about Agni Kai between a son and a father. And I already knew.â you stopped there for a moment, to gather your thoughts. âI felt guilty for not being there for you. I knew it wasnât my fault, but I still felt terrible. So, after some time, I decided I wanted to find you - and I did. On the Kyoshiâs Island, I saw what you did. I did not recognize you, Zuko. I was not seeing the person I knew, but the version your father created and it was awful. But I stayed, I still went and searched for you from time to time. I wanted to know you were safe, even though I wasnât sure if it was still you. Iâve never made myself known, because I was scared. Then came the Ba Sing Se, and honestly? At that time I wanted to meet you. I even went to Irohâs tea shop, but you werenât there at that time. So, I made myself invisible again. And my worst mistake? I was in the Crystal Catacomb, I saw that. And I was hurt again.â
As Zuko was listening to your story, he couldnât understand one thing - why were you standing here at the moment and talking to him, if he hurt you so many times? As he opened his mouth to ask that, you overtook him.
âIf youâre wondering why Iâm talking to you, Iâll explain. After whatever shit happened there, I found this place. This isolated piece of land, where everything was peaceful. Honestly, thatâs what I needed after that. Thatâs when I started meditating. And thatâs when I found out what my mind could do. Because after some time, I started feeling some kind of anxiety. But it wasnât coming from me - it was coming from you. I learned that I can actually connect with someone and feel their emotions. And because you were the closest person to my heart, my mind automatically came to you. I felt you, I knew what was happening to you in the Fire Nation. Thatâs how I knew you changed, and thatâs why weâre talking at the moment. Oh, and it helped that you came with Avatar I guessâ you giggled a little.
The amount of information Zuko got was overwhelming. He didnât even know where to start. He took a deep breath and decided - it was his time to explain some things.
âWhat happened in Ba Sing Se was stupid, but at that moment - it was the only logical way for me. Azula offered to take me home, and I thought like I finally won. After all those years my father decided I regained my honor, that I was worth something. And please keep in mind that I really thought you were dead.â he stated, awkwardly standing like he was scared to act any way. âThe worst thing was, I betrayed my uncle and now, I donât know what is happening to him. I turned my back on him, after all those years we spent together. He taught me so many things and I wasted all of it. He will never forgive meâ tears started appearing in his eyes and this time, he didnât stop them.
He felt warm hands coming around his shoulders. The familiarity of the hug made him come back all those years to his childhood - before the vanishing of his mother, before the scar, before anything bad happened. His own arms wrapped around your body, his head finding its place next to yours. He could stay like that for centuries.
âI think you donât know uncle Iroh as much as you think. I feel heâs going to forgive you.â you started, giving him a gentle smile. âHe has a soft spot for you, just like meâ you winked. After that, a little grin appeared also on his face.
âI mean, you kinda have to understand her. You were cruel back then, you werenât really yourselfâ Katara said, offering a soft smile to him.
âNo, no, of course. I do understand why she didnât do itâ he started.
âBut?â
âBut I started wondering. Maybe if I knew she was alive, then I wouldnât do so many terrible things, you know? Maybe I wouldnât help Azula, maybe I wouldnât even chase youâ he finished, his eyes looking straight ahead, his mind was definitely somewhere else.
âMaybe, but you donât know that. What happened, happened and you canât change that. What is important is that you know that sheâs alive and well, you can come back to her anytime you want after the warâ Katara stated, trying to make him feel better as much as possible. âAlso, I think the fact that youâre wondering that much, shows that you care about her deeply. I never thought I would see you like thatâ
âOh shut upâ he smiled a little, his mind coming back to you.

note: guysssss, it's happening!!!
As usual this time of the day, you were sitting peacefully on the grass, looking at the sun slowly dipping itself behind the mountain.
To this moment your day went smoothly. You woke up at sunrise, went on a walk to the village and bought what you had to buy. Then you took care of your little farm, feeding animals and harvesting vegetables. When you thought about it, it really was the perfect way to spend your day.
Even though you missed the hustle and bustle of the city, you were glad for this piece of land. Everything here was slow, but it wasnât a bad thing.Â
However, nothing could prepare you for what was to come. As you started meditating, you heard someone walking towards you. You knew that it couldnât be any of the kids, who sometimes come here for advice or just to see the animals.
Whoever was walking towards you stopped in their tracks as soon as they saw you. The tension momentarily changed, the peacefulness of the moment went away. You slowly stood up, not sure if you should turn right away. However, the vibe that was brought with this person was familiar. You could already feel it.
After a short moment, you decided to finally look at whoever disturbed your peace. As your eyes started going over the person, the familiarity hit you right in the chest. Dark, short hair and brow. Golden eyes. The unfamiliar to you scar.Â
âZuko..â you breathed out, not quite believing that after all those years, heâs standing right here, before you.Â
Not even a second past when you feel his warm hands on your waist. You yourself immediately hug him tightly. You thought about this moment for years. How he would look, how he changed. But at this specific moment, you felt like nothing had changed. Like you both are just those little, awkward kids again. Youâre in each other's arms for so long, you realised you havenât looked at him properly.
You pulled away a little, your hand instantly going to his face. His eyes locked with yours, softly looking at you like youâre the dearest thing he has ever seen. Your fingers started tracing his face, the face you were so scared to forget. They briefly went over his scar, the one you were seeing for the first time. Although he looked quite uncomfortable, he didnât say a thing - he just smiled gently.
âYou have no idea how much Iâve missed youâ he said quietly, this time his hand held your face. âFor so long I thought I lost you forever.â he continued with a little bit of sadness in his voice, you almost caught a tear in his eye.
As a little grin appeared on his face, he couldnât expect the next move. Because as soon as he stopped talking, the pain emerged on the left side of his face, specifically on his cheek. You slapped him. You. Slapped. Him. Pretty harshly to say the least.
âThatâs for teaming up with Azula back in Ba Sing Seâ you said, your voice holding some kind of anger.
âThatâs one way to reconnect after so longâ he slowly massaged his face, still holding the little smile.
âI swear, I couldnât believe youâve done that. How could you?â
âYeah, I guess I deserved that. Iâm going to explain it to you later, okay? I promiseâ as he said that, he held your hands tightly, like he didnât want you to disappear again. âBut for now, let me just enjoy, enjoy this moment, enjoy youâ a little blush popped up on his face.
âYouâre lucky youâre cute, otherwise I wouldnât let that go so easilyâ you giggled.
âYou wouldn't let that go just because you think Iâm cute or whatever, you know exactly what happened after that, donât you?âÂ
âMaybe, but Iâll explain this laterâ you winked at him and with that, the face of Zuko just became more red. âHow did you even find me? This place is a shit-holeâ
âI had a little helpâŠâ
Aang, Katara, Sokka, Suki and Toph accompanied by Appa and Momo were chilling a little further from the place where the reunion was held. They all decided that it would be better if Zuko went alone, especially after showing them so many emotions regarding this girl. But Sokka wasnât peaceful at all. He was a complete opposite of the nature around them. Pacing nervously, he started rambling quickly.
âMaybe we should check on them? He went there so long ago. I know heâs a great firebender, but I donât trust this girl. Even though I still think sheâs just a random person from the Fire Nationâ he went all and all with his talk.Â
Suki and Katara just looked at him amused by this statement. Since when Soka held so many feelings for Zuko?
âRelax Snoozles, your talking is giving me a headacheâ Toph signed, laying on the grass with her feet solid on the ground.
âSheâs right Sokka, especially because if there was any problem, Toph would hear itâ Katara smiled softly, trying to reassure him. He looked at her, but that didnât help him.
âYeah, for now all I can hear is a sickly cute conversation between them, I want to pukeâÂ
They all looked firstly at Toph, then at each other. The idea already popped up in their heads. Why not use Tophâs abilities to know whatâs happening? Of course only for protection, right?
âSo, what are they saying?â Suki came forward with the question everyone wanted to ask.
âSomething like âyou i missed you so much, I thought you were dead, I mourned youââ she stated, mocking Zukoâs voice simultaneously. They all tried to muffle their laughs to not pick up the attention of those who gave them such entertainment.
Momentarily they heard steps coming towards them, so as quickly as they could, they separated. Even though they tried really hard to make themselves seem busy, all they heard was âWere you listening to my conversation?â from Zuko.
âNo, why do you think like that?â Sokka asked, but his voice wasnât really convincing. Zuko just pinched his nose and looked at them.
âIs there any possibility we could stay here longer?â he turned to Aang.
âIâm sorry Zuko but no, the Sozinâs Comet will be here soon and we need to keep going.â the Avatar responded. Zuko heard in his voice that he wasnât pleased by this, but they really had something to do.
âBut when all of this will be over, I think youâll have every time youâll want to reconnect with herâ Katara smiled.
As they all packed up their stuff on Appa to begin their next and final journey, you slowly approach the bison and the people around him.
âHello little one, arenât you the cutest?â you smiled gently, giving Appa some hay while also giving an apple to Momo.
âItâs cruel that I just found you and now Iâm the one disappearingâ Zuko said, his voice a little hollow like he couldnât believe he had to leave you.Â
âIt is, isnât it? But I believe you have a very important task to do and I canât hold you backâ you smiled, knowing this time you both will find each other again. âJust donât forget about meâ
âWouldnât dream of itâ he smiled and wrapped his hands around you for one last hug.
As you pulled away from him, your lips found his cheek - the same you hit just hours ago. The blush reappeared on his face, not the first one since youâve met this day. With another smile from you, you turned away and started walking towards your home. What you didnât know was that Zuko held his hand on the cheek for a moment, a big grin emerging once again.Â
âYou coming or not? We have the Fire Lord to defeatâ he heard Sokkaâs voice, but it didnât ruin the moment for him. Momentarily he turned and hopped on Appaâs back, looking at the place for the last time.

note: im so sorry for the delay, but i literally graduated hs yesterday and well, i gotta socialize a little bit ;)
Zuko felt scared, even if he didnât want to admit it. He was scared because after all this time, after chasing Avatar for so long, now he wanted to actually join him and his friends. Everyday after coming to this conclusion, his mind was like a war zone. But nowadays he knew what was right and what was his destiny - to help Avatar defeat his own father.
He was thinking too much. How the meeting will go, if theyâre going to believe him. And for a moment he really thought itâs going to be easy. Oh how wrong was he..
As Aang with Sokka, Katara and Toph went off Appa, Aang started talking about all the things they could enjoy doing in the Western Air Temple. However his words were quickly interrupted by Tophâs voice.
âI think thatâll have to waitâ as she pointed behind Appa.
As they all turned around, their faces were showing definitely signs of confusion. Before them, very awkwardly, stood Zuko.
âHello. Zuko hereâ he waved, a little smile appearing on his lips.
And that was all for good things that happened. Because they did not believe him, not even a word. Well, at least he tried right? But he couldnât just give up, especially after accidentally burning Toph. He still returned to the temple, and actually defeated the assassin he had hired earlier. After whatever chaos happened during the attack, he got a second chance to talk.
âListen, I know I didnât explain myself very well yesterday. Iâve been through a lot in the past few years and itâs been hard. But Iâm realizing that I have to go through all those things to learn the truth. I thought I had lost my honor and that somehow my father could return it to me. But I know now that no one can give you your honor. Itâs something you earn for yourself by choosing to do whatâs right. All I want now is to play my part in ending this war. And I know my destiny is to help you restore balance to the world.â hearing those words, Aangâs expression momentarily changed as if he understood him completely. However, Katara stood there furious about all of that. âIâm sorry for what I did to you.â he apologised to Toph, saying how fire can be dangerous and wild. âAs a firebender, I need to be more careful and control my bending so I donât hurt people unintentionally.â
As the last words slipped past Zukoâs lips, Aang was stunned. He felt like he finally saw a person, a true identity after all those moments they shared.Â
âI think you are supposed to be my firebending teacherâ he started, looking at him âWhen I first tried firebending, I burned Katara. And after that I never wanted to firebend again. But now I know you understand how easy it is to hurt the people you love. Not only thatâ now he looked at the rest of the gaang. âYou remembered that lady? She said that someone else will help me and I feel that she meant Zuko. Iâd like you to teach meâ
Aang bowed slightly to Zuko as to show respect, the same coming from him. Even though the young Avatar still asked the rest of his friends, Zuko felt like it was victory already. However, what he hadnât thought about was, whatâs going to happen after joining the group.
In the span of a few days he already went with Aang to the Sun Warriors and rediscovered his power alongside the boy with the help of dragons. He helped Sokka in freeing Suki and Sokkaâs father Hakoda from the Boiling Rock prison. Oh, and also he was finally accepted by Katara when he located her motherâs killer. Thankfully after all those fiasco, they all stayed on Ember Island. However, what was to come was unexpected to Zuko.Â
As they were watching a play about all of them, which sucked by the way, Zuko saw something that instantly picked his attention. It was a scene, where Aang and his friends were on unknown land. The young Avatar was talking to this beautiful lady, asking her to teach him firebending. However, the lady refused, saying that some kind of accident happened. As his mind started working on all the power, he knew he had to ask about this.
All of them were finally coming back from the play. As the night was already on full and no one really wanted to talk, Zuko decided that this was his opportunity.Â
âI wanted to ask about something. The scene where Aang was talking to the firebender that refused to teach him, who was that?âÂ
âHer? It was y/n, during our travels I heard a lot about her, how powerful she was. So I decided to try and ask her to teach me, but as you already know, she refusedâ Aang responded casually, like it was the most normal information to him. âItâs actually kind of funny, because she said that someone else will teach me firebending and she wasnât wrong.â
But not to Zuko, no. Because as soon as the boy said that, he stopped dead in his tracks. He tried to say anything, but words just couldnât come out of his mouth. He stood there so long, the rest of the group finally turned to him. What met them was the face of the man, who just heard that the person he thought was dead - was actually alive.Â
âWhat do you mean y/n? Where did you hear that sheâs alive?â he asked abruptly.Â
âHe means that we donât know her entire story line so donât get your hopes high. Why are you interested anyway? Sheâs just some random fire benderâ Sokka interrupted, not quite understanding what was going on with him.
âRandom fire bender? YOU DONâT KNOW WHO YOUâRE TALKING ABOUTâ the voice of Zuko could probably be heard from miles away. âWhere is she now?â asked more calmly, not looking at Sokka at the moment.
âWell, weâre not even sure what the land is called. Itâs somewhere in the Earth Nation, but itâs a place that war hasnât reached. Why are you so interested now?â Katara told him softly, feeling like this conversation could lead somewhere.
âBecause.. because y/n was someone who showed me nothing but kindness all my life. And as you all probably know, there weren't a lot of people doing that. We were so close as kids, but one day she disappearedâ he exhaled, gathering his thoughts in the process. âAfter that my life went downhill and well, at some point I made myself believe that she was dead and Iâll never see her again. But now youâre telling me sheâs actually alive? I donât know if you will understand, but I need to see her as soon as possible.â his head hung low as the last words were formed.
He felt a hand coming to his shoulder and when he looked up, he saw the protecting expression on Kataraâs face. She smiled softly at him like she completely understood him at that moment.
âYou donât need to say anything more, if you want, we can take you there. After whatever we saw today, I believe we need a change in a scenery and believe me - you wonât find any more peaceful place compared to where weâre going to take you."

note: i realised the timeline is not timelining so bear with me. anyway, here's part two for you, enjoy<3
The wind was pleasant. The sun was slowly hiding behind the mountain. Everything here was peaceful, like war hasnât reached this region. As if it was forgotten. And really, it was like that, because even refugees didnât know about this little piece of land.Â
You sat on the grass meditating. Your breath slow and steady, just like people here. Everything around you is quiet except birds, who decided it was the best time to fly in circles. Your mind however, is somewhere else. After all those years you got to learn a lot. Not only about life in general, but also about your mind. At some point you realised, how much of a powerful thing that was. Learning from the masters, your skills became somewhat unbearable for normal people.Â
Your mind wandered to the city youâve left all those years ago. Particularly to the only person youâve left behind. Zuko. His name was still somehow painful to think about. The boy was probably the only person who understood you. Of course you had other friends, but this particular boy was always with you. Leaving him was the hardest decision you had to make.Â
The guilt just built up over the years. And in the back of your mind, you wished he would come and find you someday. And kept you sane was the fact that you knew what was happening to him. Unbeknownst to his knowledge, you followed him for most of his search for Avatar. Well, maybe you werenât always near him, but you knew what was happening in general. You were glad he was doing okay, but the moment you found out that he joined Azula, you yourself felt cheated on. Because you knew that something bad was going on there.
Your thoughts were interrupted by the unfamiliar voice. Although youâve never spoken to this boy, you knew to whom it belonged to.Â
âExcuse me, are you y/n?â the boy asked slowly, like he was scared of you.
âAvatar Aang, how nice of you to come hereâ you said, standing up and looking at him. As you looked at him, you noticed how much he changed since the last time you saw him from afar. His posture was brave, he looked focused and ready, like he wasnât sure what you might do.
âHow do you know who I am?â he asked, not quite understanding what was happening.
âOh silly, Iâve seen you before, even if you didnât see me.â you said, a little smile appearing on your lips. âWhy are you here?â
âIâve heard about you and I wanted to ask if youâre willing to train me firebendingâÂ
âIâm sorry my dear, but I donât think itâs possibleâ you started, the look he gave you was a mix of pity and disappointment. âI know youâre looking for a teacher, but I canât fulfill your needs.â
âBut why? Youâre probably my last hope of learning anything about fire. I donât know if I can change your mind, but I really need it. Iâm gonna be a good student, I swearâ
âI have no doubt about that Aang. However, you must understand something.â you started, turning around towards the sunset. You felt him coming to stand next to you. âYou see, a few years ago I was training with Prince Zuko and I was excellent. We worked together so well, while also having fun doing it. Our powers didnât overcome each other, but rather mix together in this beautiful dance. Unfortunately, I had to leave the city. It was caused by one event that left a permanent mark on me. When that happened, I decided to never use my powers again, no matter the circumstances.â
âBut the Fire Lord Ozai is going to destroy everything and replace it with something much worse, compared to the hundred years war.â he tried to argue. But when he looked at you, he realised it was no use. âPlease.â
âIâm very sorry Aang, but I can't do that. It was a promise I made to myself years ago and Iâm not going to change that.â you started, not looking at him. Because you knew if you did, youâd change your mind.Â
He gave up. He knew he couldnât change your mind, no matter what. He started walking away to the rest of the gaang that left him so he could do this on his own. He turned around once more, only to see you still standing at the same spot. Before he could start walking again, he heard your voice.
âBut donât worry young Avatar, I sense something coming to you. Something or someone coming to help you. Iâm sorry I canât be the one to do that, but your destiny lies somewhere else. Take care and good luckâ you said, the amount of hope your voice held was almost insane. He felt like he really could believe you for a moment.
As Aang was nearing his friends, his mind was running in circles. What did you mean by that? Will he meet some other firebender? He hoped for that, because he didnât have any other solution.Â
âAnd? What did she say? Is she going to help you?â Katara asked softly, even though she felt what happened.
âNo.â Aang answers, his voice low and his head hanging even lower.
âNO? HOW COULD SHE SAID THAT? DOES SHE NOT KNOW WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN?! Iâm gonna talk to hearâ Sokkaâs voice could probably be heard from miles away. As he started walking towards where Aang came from, he was stopped. Avatar held his arm tighter than ever, not letting him go.
âDonât do that, she wonât change her mindâ he said, clearly coming to terms with what was said.
âHow can you be so sure?! Maybe you werenât convincing enough huh?â Sokka tried once again, but his attempt was cut short.
âNo, sheâs standing on the decision. But she told me that someone else will help me.â
âAnd you believe her? Sheâs from the Fire Nation, maybe she doesnât want to help you because sheâs an agent and sheâs going to tell everything Ozai or whichever of his evil childrenâÂ
âI do, I sense she was telling the truth. If not, we can come back but for now, letâs go. We have more important things to do.â Aang ended the conversation and started walking towards Appa. There was no way of changing his mind.
Sokka and Katara just looked at each other. They wanted to believe him, but something was bothering them. Aang wasnât the one to give up so easily so what happened during their talk, that he just left?

i decided not to write the whole scene between zuko and lord ozai (mainly cuz i think most people readin this knows it). however if you dont, here's the link for it, enjoy<3
Zuko lost himself. He believes he lost himself when his own father banished him. When the only way he could regain his honor was by catching a lost Avatar. But he was wrong.
The first time he felt lost, was when he lost you. The person who kept it all together. You spent most of your childhood with each other. Training, walking, playing, talking - you name it. Every second you could spend together, was spent that way. You did everything together. When Zuko lost his mother, you were the person he turned to. You were his rock, his balance in the universe. And then, you disappeared. To this day it is the worst day in his life. The nightmare that just keeps coming back to him in his dreams. He remembers the day as clearly as he can, after all those years.
It was a pretty sunny day. The breeze was cooling, the birds were singing softly. Nature itself was the opposite of what was to happen. Zuko was peacefully walking through the city, his destination was, as always this time of the day, your house. He just came back from the trip and the only thing on his mind was to find you. However, as he was nearing your place, he realised the house was empty. But not in a way, where you just left and will be back soon. No. It was as empty as the workshop that was closed years ago near the forgotten street. The cobwebs decorated the inside, the one that used to be his second home. He was flabbergasted to say the least. Just a few days ago, both of you were happily trying to train in the backyard, and now the place was abandoned. Did you move and didnât tell him? Where were you? Just as questions started spiraling in his head, he heard someone entering the house - the old lady, who was your maid.
âOh young boy, Iâm so sorry you had to find out this way. I was supposed to go to the palace today and tell you thereâ the lady started, looking at him sympathetically.
âWhat happened here? Whereâs y/n?â he asked, not quite understanding what she meant.
âHer parents died just a few days ago and sheâs nowhere to be found. Tragically, she was the first to get to them, when their life was takenâ she stated, looking around the room.
Usually the dream stopped there, because he canât fully remember what happened after. His memories were foggy, but it also felt like he didn't want to remember. Life went on just without you. Youâve never returned, never showed up in the palace to say youâre back. Every now and then Zuko had those visions. Visions of you. Running around the place and laughing. Oh how much he loved your laugh. He was mad at himself. Maybe if he told you how he felt, you wouldn't leave.Â
What came after you vanished was cruel. It was at that time, when he spoke against one of his fatherâs men. When he was supposed to fight his father. When he got the scar. When he was banished. It felt like you leaving made immediate change - everything started going down.
At some point Zuko started to think too much. He started telling himself you were dead. Because it was easier that way, to tell yourself someone left forever and thatâs why they arenât coming back. And he really believed that. He held onto this idea for years after the vanishing of the girl.
Day of Black Sun. It was today and Zuko knew what he had to do. He finally found himself again. After gaining knowledge of the fact that he was related to Avatar Roko, he felt as if everything came clear to him. His mission from now on was to fight his own father. As he walked slowly to the chamber, thoughts came running around in his head. Is this really it? Is he finally standing up against his own father? Is this what uncle Iroh would want for him? Before any more questions could come up, he stood before massive doors. Exhaling slowly, he entered the room and he saw the man, who ruined his childhood and him in general. Their eyes met and the tension could be cut in half with the knife.
âWhy are you here?â the Lord asked suspiciously.
âIâm here to tell the truthâ Zukoâs voice held some kind of fear, but also courage.Â
The Lord listened to him. Zuko spoke the truth about Ba Sing Se, how he wasnât the one to kill Avatar. And the fact that Aang is actually alive. The anger fueled Lord Ozai, telling his son to leave before he kills him. However, Zuko wasnât done, he wanted to say something much more important to him.
âI am going to speak my mind and you are going to listen.â he started, making Ozai sit patiently and actually listen to him âFor so long, all I wanted was for you to love me, to accept me. I thought it was my honor that I wanted. But really I was just trying to please you.â his voice started to carry the type of aggression that you can hear in those who never truly felt respected. âYou, my father who banished me just for talking out of turn. My father who challenged me, a thirteen year old boy to an Agni Kai. How can you possibly justify a duel with a child?â
That was the moment when Zuko came to terms with how his life had been. How much pain he has given other people because of his fatherâs decisions. But Lord Ozai just laughed at him. At his talk about peace and kindness, about his sonâs destiny to help Avatar not kill the Fire Lord.
âCoward! You think youâre brave enough to face me, but youâll only do it during the eclipse. If you have any real courage, youâll stick around until the sun comes out. Donât you want to know what happened to your mother and to your loved one?â
That last sentence made Zuko stop in his tracks. At some point in his life he knew he would never find out what happened to his mother and the girl. Slowly he accepted it, deciding it is something that canât be explained. And now his father, who he just stood up to, magically knows what happened? Itâs no surprise he hid the information about his wife, but he also knew what happened to the girl? And he has never said a thing? Even though it shouldnât surprise Zuko, it still did. Because, that part of his life he buried a long time ago and now it was facing him again. He turned around, once again looking at his father, whose face wore an unpleasing grin.
âWhat happened to them? What happened that night, when mom came to my room? What happened while I was gone?â he asked, voice trembling with fear.

WinterSoldier!reader x Leon S. Kennedy (had re4r in mind when writing!)
Kick. Stab. Crouch. Repeat.
Words like a mantra. Again and again, you canât even recall when was the last time that you didnât hear them. They were surrounding you every day and every night. But you were good at this, always have and always will. You were trained for this.
When DSO took interest in you, you hesitated. Long time it had been since you last were needed. Needed, but not by them. It was weird at first, even scary if you could call it this way. But something in you told you, that this was a way to repay for your past mistakes. Well, not even yours to begin with, but that didnât matter. It felt like yours.
After some time in DSO you got used to it, it felt like you belonged there. You could help, really help. With fighting bioweapons and âbad guysâ, you were ruthless to them, but priceless to the government. People respected you for who you were and they didnât know your past. Your file was almost the size of âThe Brothers Karamazovâ by Dostoevsky, most of it classified. No one really knew what you did before, and if so, they rarely bring it up. But this specific afternoon it changed.
Walking into the main office, youâre called by the general director for a meeting. He told you about next mission, somewhere in Russia, around Vorkuta. The place itself rang a bell somewhere in your mind, but you werenât sure. Of course, as the product of the Soviet experiments, you were brought all around Siberia but you never knew where exactly.
âI want you specifically on this one, along with agent Kennedyâ the man started. âI know you wonât upset meâ
âSure, doesnât seem like anything hard, except for the weather perhapsâ you chuckled softly, reading the file he handed you.
âYeah, one more thing. It may contain something about HYDRAâ
After those words you looked at him, not fully understanding. In your mind they vanished , long time ago, and they werenât supposed to come back. You just nodded and left his office, trying not to make a big fuss over it. However you felt like something in you could burst open. Like some of those zombies you fought alongside Kennedy.
Leon S. Kennedy. Your partner in crime for a few years now. You got along pretty well, fighting together was like an art performance with you two included. Decent man, with a little too much one-liners for your liking, but that was something you could accept. Your legs started going into his office before your mind could even think about it. Nothing surprising considering that you almost always worked together.
âHey Kennedy, we got a new dealâ you said, entering the most beige and minimalist space you could imagine. The only exception in the room was a cute, little present Ashley got him after all this Spain mess.
âAnd here I was, thinking for once you wanted to take me on a dateâ he said with a little smirk.
âWe talked about it, no dinner unless you kill more targets than meâ you winked at him and smiled.
âWhere we going now?â
âMy beloved Russia. Be prepared, we ainât going to the south.â
The snow was falling roughly, the same could be said about the wind. The weather wasnât the best, but you couldnât imagine it getting better. The only positive thing was that, after some slight fighting, you and Leon were underground. Why is everything underground?
Walking through the silent, dark corridors both of you were as quiet as you could. But with every step you took, you felt like something was whispering into your ear. Could this be schizophrenia? You hoped not, because you actually kind of liked working nowadays. However, this weird feeling creeping up your shoulders kept you on your toes.
âEverything all right?â you heard from Leon, as you were slowly approaching your destination.
âYeah, just some odd odor in the airâ to which he hummed. But the walk felt familiar. Like youâve been here in the past. And before you could say anything, you heard gunshots coming into your direction.
You and Leon split, shooting back.   Â
Weird. No one in sight. Sounded like one person. Well almost, because whoever that was, they nearly made any sound. Both of you started looking around, but the only thing visible was the dark corridors around you. You felt it before you could see it. First youâre standing next to your partner, second you canât breathe. Strong, metal arm tight around your neck.
âDonât moveâ the voice echoed. Leon already aimed towards you.
âLeon donâtâ you screamed. Well, screamed as much as you could.
âWhat do we have here? The Forgotten Soldier coming backâ the voice said, and you recognized it.
You would recognize that voice from far away.
"Soldat. What a lovely way to greet your long-lost lover, huh?" you asked, trying to sound as collected as you could. The grip around your neck was loose and you turned around with a smirk.
"Doll, you know I wouldn't hurt you" the voice belonged to The Winter Soldier. The one who became a legend, a myth. No one nowadays believed in his existence, including you. "Who's that?"
"My new partner in crime, since you've forgotten about me, I had to find your replacement" you said teasingly. The tension could be felt from the roof and Leon, who was standing and not understanding most of the conversation, was not feeling good about it.
"Your new lover boy, huh? Thought I was irreplaceable"
"Leon, this is one and only The Winter Soldier, or as I like to call him - pain in an ass" you smiled lightly.
âThe Winter Soldier huh? Thought you froze to death centuries agoâ Leon said, but his voice wasnât audacious. Something cold and unknown could be heard in his voice. This uneasy feeling came in his chest - he felt like he couldnât trust this guy, even if he tried. âWell, maybe you want to give us a tour? Getting a little lost here..â
âOh but [reader] should be the one, donât you think? Coming back should make you all happy, shouldnât it?â he turned towards you.
