Law as your man, but he is secretly a softie
This is actually something I wrote for my oc, Mira. So dont wonder if it gets specific.
(after a battle, Mira has been feeling down, in Miras bedroom. I had an opening in mind, but im too lazy to write it)
Law lays down on his stomach next to her and lets the silence rule the room for a while. His eyes lock onto dark forest eyes where the wind takes its course. In the meantime, Mira watches the small flecks of different tones in his golden eyes.
"Hey," he whispers with a silent voice, like this is only for her to hear. Noone else, not even the wind, not even the stars.
"Do you know what I see when I look at you?" he asks her, running a finger along a strand of hair. "I see someone who survived despite the conditions she is in. Someone who survived unlike the others and is able to move on in her path without looking back... Not because she wants to, but because the people she lost want to..." she closes her eyes, listening to his whispers.
"And I'm kind of jealous of that..." Miras eyes snap open at that sentence, not expecting Law to say something like that. "Because while you always get stronger and stronger without looking back, I still check of there is someone following me and see the ghosts of the past dragging me back down." They stay silent for a while, Laws words sinking in.
"You are so strong Mira. So so so strong and i can only dream of being a person like you. I can only dream of being so strong and smart, so inspiring and opening others eyes... And everytime i see you suffer and try without backing down even one step, I see the impossible forming into reality".
Law feels the slight shake in Miras hands so he reaches for them like he wants to anchor her like she always does with him. "But its also okay to break sometimes. It shows that you are human, it shows that you care. And you have no idea how much that means to me. Its so important for me to know that you are still thinking of me, still thinking of the crew, still thinking of your friends. your family. Despite what others say, you dont forget where you came from, where you are and where you are going to."
Mira sees the admiration in his eyes. He admires this woman, he acknowledges this woman, not only her beauty, but also her intelligence and capabilities. Not only that, but also adores her.
Law takes a deep breath and continues "And god Mira, im so thankful for you. You give me strength, you stay by my side, you never worry me. I can always trust you and your decisions without a blink of an eye. you encourage me, you make sure i trust my own decisions, you make everything so much easier."
For a while, Mira didn't even notice the burn in her eyes. But the damn surgeon isnt even done and his eyes dont stop staring into hers.
"Never forget Mira. You make me so happy in life."
(after his little speech)
"You damn idiot..." Mira chuckles, wiping at her eyes "When the hell did you get so poetic?"
"Im learning from the best" he admits while they lay in comfortable silence.
I dunno, I kinda feel like its missing a few things 🫤
