For anybody not caught up: Tennessee just passed a new map that pretty much makes it so black neighborhoods have no power in local votes. Two things about this. While protestors were chanting "No Jim Crow", white Tennessee lawmakers were caught laughing on video. On top of this, Representative Justin Pearson and his brother KeShaun Pearson were arrested for trying to give their takes on the matter (which is not only their legal right but literally his job). If you give a shit about black people, help fight this. We can't allow a return to Jim Crow.

Tumblr Staff, after making a half hearted apology for mass banning trans women, has just today mass banned trans women a second time

I don't have exact numbers yet, but at least twenty users were terminated at the same exact time, recieving an "internally generated report" refusing to declare reason for the ban. I quote, "Upon review of your account we have determined that it does not align with our terms of service". No reason given, this was clearly a deliberate action by staff as they themselves claim

Tumblr staff is currently mass banning trans women again. Make them know this is unnaceptable

20,000 Pounds of Trash Removed From Pacific Garbage Patch: ‘Holy mother of god. It worked!’

The man who won't rest until the Great Pacific Garbage Patch is cleaned up has successfully tested his system for doing so.

““The Great Pacific Garbage Patch can now be cleaned,” announced Dutch entrepreneur Boyan Slat, the wonderkid inventor who’s spent a decade inventing systems for waterborne litter collection.

Recent tests on his Ocean Cleanup rig called System 002, invented to tackle the 1.8 trillion pieces of plastic pollution, were a success, leading Slat to predict that most of the oceanic garbage patches could be removed by 2040.

Intersections of ocean currents have created the massive floating islands of plastic trash—five slow-moving whirlpools that pull litter from thousands of miles away into a single radius.

The largest one sits between California and Hawaii, and 27-year-old Slat has been designing and testing his systems out there, launching from San Francisco since 2013.

GNN has reported on his original design for the floating device, but his engineering team improved upon it. System 002, nicknamed “Jenny,” successfully netted 9,000 kilograms, or around 20,000 pounds in its first trial.

It’s carbon-neutral, able to capture microplastics as small as 1 millimeter in diameter, and was designed to pose absolutely no threat to wildlife thanks to its wide capture area, slow motion, alerts, and camera monitors that allow operators to spy any overly-curious marine life…

Slat estimates ten Jennies could clean half the garbage patch in five years, and if 10 Jennies were deployed to the five major ocean gyres, then 90% of all floating plastic could be removed by 2040.” -via Good News Network, 10/19/21

I need like a fanfic in which:

byakuya togamai (or however, you spell it it’s literally 3 AM on the dot as I type this) is given the task to basically be a parental figure for the UDG kids, but specifically Nagisa.

And he like sees himself in Nagisa and as he’s raising him, it slowly revealed that Makoto is like assigning the warrior of Hope as last hurdles or smth.

In this Togami like proves, he’s no longer the cruel callous and jaded boy that he met in the killing game, but it’s actually an adult working through his trauma and learning to be open and understand that he’s human and no child should’ve been treated as if they are a project or robot destined for perfection and if they aren’t perfect, they don’t exist. 

And then it like repeats with everyone of them like idk

And Makoto is left with Monica and he like raises her and as he’s raising her, he kind of reflects on what Junko has done and realizes and comes to term with how someone he used to call his friend did all the stuff, and he truly can never forgive her, and that almost brings him solace.

Also Kirigri is probs dead sorry but also the final push to tell Makoto it’s not his fault or Monica’s fault. Junko is just rotten no matter how much Makoto WANTS to sympathize with her because she was also a friend of his but she hurt so many people and she warped these children so bad he can’t forgive her and he’s okay with that
