i think like contrary to popular belief i'm not really all that strong or confident or have that much backbone etc. like i try to seem on here especially, but it is moreso that i am someone who has a tendency to fill in the spaces and create balance. i can usually identify what's missing in a space and become that, i essentially do my best to say and do the thing that i think other people need most. it's a little contrarian sometimes and a little out there and i'm not always right in what other people need. so in our little tumblr community as an example, if I see an overwhelming amount of self deprecation on here on a given day, then i have to be stronger and more strong-willed, because if someone doesn’t then we could get swept up in this wave of sadness. when I’m in rooms where everyone is independent, i'd become a more agreeable version of myself.

by contrast i think sukuna is someone who is genuinely very good at staying at his own path, regardless of if the world does agree or disagree.

he's very i'm gonna do this whether you like it or not because these are my choices. i really admire that and respect that and i think being able to be in his space would allow me to mirror that and make healthier or more selfish choices for myself that i wouldn't otherwise make.

sukuna is very interesting in the sense that he's traditional but not rigid. for instance, he wears a kimono for most of when we see him, but he wears a women's kimono because the arm holes are bigger. he gets annoyed when someone makes haikus with incorrect seasonal beats. this is also ari summer-oil's influence but i do translate that to the idea of rituals in a modern day au. a morning routine, a night routine, eating at regular hours. a lot of what he does is well thought out.

sukucora by extension is kind of like being invited into his world. he does exactly what he wants to do and he is not swayed by anyone else, he expects you to do the same. i kind of see my love as something that stretches and protects, i'm vigilant about what's not said or yet to be said/happen in general and i do my best to handle things before they can get worse, but that sort of vigilance is incredibly tiring. sukuna is a space to put it down, to not have to think about anyone other than myself and my own needs. to not have to balance or adapt. it's safe to be difficult, to want things for myself, to not care what anyone else has to say about it. it's a little wretched and not necessarily something others would approve of, but it doesn't have to be either.
