The second piece in my attempt to make OFMD art for every colour in the Gilbert Baker Pride Flag this month! This was a difficult one to decide on, but it’s the beginning of their new lives in so many ways, so I thought it would fit well, and, y’know, blood and smoke and fire and stuff 🥰

Here's my podfic of the Murderbot fic Error: Close Program Before Restart by ishouldwritethatdown.

The problem is that stupid humans take an average of 7-9 hours to go through a healthy restart cycle and during that time they are hyper-vulnerable to attack. It’s a security risk.

Murderbot is having issues managing its paranoia and perception of reality after the events on the Adamantine colony planet. Its favourite human and favourite transport bot help it feel better and it complains the whole time.

"Yes yes yes," Rocky said. "Tried to find words on thinking machine. Those are right words, amaze amaze amaze!"

On Erid, just because you have a mate, it doesn't mean you can't have a soul bond with someone else too. I love making PHM podfics because I can use music from the movie soundtrack as the carrier for the vocoder that I use for Rocky's voice. It's very satisfying.

imagination adventure: how would ofmd fandom have reacted if ed had pulled izzy aside after la vie en rose and said "my first mate is izzy fucking hands not some namby-pamby wearing glitter. if you're going to act like this you better watch your fucking step, mate."

do we think anyone would be arguing that's not cruel or verbally abusive? that it's kind of insensitive phrasing but really just tough love intended to protect izzy? that it's not homophobic because there's no homophobia in this show and also ed can't be homophobic he's literally gay i can't believe people think ed's straight? that it's not a threat?

My podfic with full soundscape of On the Harbourside at Half Past Chucking-Out Time by Shearwater, in which Merstede meets Sad Fisherman Ed. I love it when I read a fic like this and I can hear the sounds of it in my mind. This one is lots of short (and one longer) scenes all written in real time and all set in places that have distinct sounds. I love being able to add another layer to a the experience of a fic and doing that with sound makes me smile a lot.

Here's my podfic of the very sweet Project Hail Mary fic Gifts Make Grace Leak by ExecutiveCucumber.

Knowing that your teacher leaks is one thing, but seeing it happen is a completely different experience.

Grace's Eridian students get a bit of a surprise when they manage to make their leaky space blob teacher emotional. It does not go well.

I used a vocoder to make the Eridians' voices and the movie soundtrack track Life is Reason as the carrier for it. You might be able to hear the melody in some spots.
