is this rp still active?
With midterms and spring break for our members, the dash moves a little slow, but weâre determined to keep it moving along. We could always use more members to help out with that, though! If you have any more questions, donât hesitate to ask!!
xx Admin Ingrid
Hey players and lurkers! I know the main had been a little quiet recently; both Megan and I have been swamped with school work and have been super busy but weâre still here and would love to get some applications and questions!! We are Skeleton/OC roleplay revolving around a mutant plot!Â
xx Admin Ingrid
Deep below the surface, past the faux town, lie the large underground network of shelters and tunnels. Some sections have been sealed off, long forgotten and unknown to almost everyone, including the Initiative. . .Â
For several months a group of agents have been working underground, in an unmapped section of the tunnels that connect below the Diner. The work has been in secret, using their outside connections to smuggle in what they needed. Now the first finished portion is opening, and hushed invitations have been spreading. Affectionately termed The Umbra, it is now an official speakeasy/lounge for agents. It uniquely has no connection to the Initiativeâs main administration, as it has remained under their radar for now. Because of this, it is one of the only places in the compound where agents cannot be observed through the security system. . .Â
Hello, hello everyone! Whew, the past little bit has been a whirlwind for Ingrid and I, and we apologize for being slightly absent. Ingrid is travelling during her spring break, and I am smack in the middle of midterms. However, we are excited to announce a little event for this weekend! The event will run from Friday March 23rd to Monday March 26th. We will have more information on the event posted shortly, but it will be a more casual thread themed event unveiling a slightly new location in the compound! Details and information on how participating will work will be coming soon!

Which character(s) would you like to find out more about?
Hey there, sorry we did not realize we had received this question before!! We are also a little confused by what you mean. If you mean which skeletons we would like to see fleshed out, we have three spotlighted on the main sidebar! Agent #0011, Agent #0056, and Agent #0015 !!! If that is not what you meant Iâm sorry, and please clarify and we can try and give you a better answer!

will there be tasks and events ?
Yes!! We will be doing events of all levels, such as small thread themes, group events, plot drops, etc. We will also be doing tasks!! We have been taking it a little slow this first week or so, because we got more members and we wanted everyone to feel like they had their footing!! Ingrid and I have ideas for events and tasks, but we are also completely open to suggestions! If anyone has ideas or suggestions, because realistically we cannot think of every possible event ever, we would love to hear them! We want everyone to feel heard and involved in the process !!

AGENT #0016
full name: Connor Michaels
age, birthday: 24
gender, pronouns: he/him
species: Human
occupation: PR Agent
faceclaim:Â Andy Mientus
ABILITY
Forgery, can persuade and win over other people very well, manipulative, hacking. Connor can also speak 6 languages fluently - English, Spanish, Latin, French, Arabic, Mandarin. Connor is also quite skilled in coding, as he liked to play pranks revolving technology back when he was in high school. Connor also has good survival skills, learnt from the times he spent watching documentaries instead of making friends as a kid.
BACKGROUND
While growing up, Connor shared a very close bond with his twin, Agent #0015. When the accident triggered a mutation in his twinâs DNA, Connor at first did not know how to cope. They had always been relatively the same growing up, and this stark difference was new and foreign to them. Connor began to help cover up their twinâs mutant ability. At first altering social media exposures, news articles, and eventually cleaning up security footage of Agent #0015â˛s accidental outings. When Agent #0015 was discovered by The Company, they also took note of Connor, who was getting his degree in  Public Relations and Communications Management. After their graduation they were offered a spot at The Companyâs management department. Connor was quite reluctant to join, as he had heard about the horrible things the company has done, whether true or false. Connor also tried to avoid mutants and wanted to do absolutely nothing with them -at least until his twin became one. growing up, Connor never had much friends, even though he was quite known and popular in his school, he only ever stuck close to his twin and he wouldnât know what to without his twin. He was often teased because of this, many people called it âtwincestâ. but it never bothered Connor much. Connor also excelled in his studies, though whenever he fails, he always manipulates his way into an easy A. To people that knew him, they could describe him as being a little cynical at times,  and he would not disagree. He does not have a very high tolerance for people, which is another reason why the only person he ever cared for is his twin. Connor wanted to study psychology before changing his mind to PR and Communications. He did not have a very close relationship with his parents and family and only ever talked to them if he really needed to, often communicating with them through his twin. Connor is a known anti-social but when he has to, he can become quite charismatic. Connor also played the piccolo in high school. He was also known to be very competitive and would often participate in events he was not even fond of, just to win first place. When he was offered a position in the company, he declined them several times, with only his twin that managed to convince him to join.
HEADCANONS
i. Connor is very open in his opinion that he fully does not support Initiative X and it led to him getting in trouble a couple of times, as he is very outspoken and likes to speak his mind.
ii. The most Connor has ever cried was when his pet rabbit died in fourth grade.
iii. If Connor could rid the world of one drink, it would be coffee. he hates coffee with all his might and vomited the first time he tasted it.
iv. Connor is very closed about his love life, even to his twin, and if asked about his sexuality, he would often get mad and ramble about his rights.
v. Connor is fully aware of his arrogance and cockiness, and admits that he sees it as not negative traits, but actually positive ones that will help him get far in life, though he doesnât know whether he means as a PR agent or generally.
KATARINA OLSSON
full name: Katarina Olsson
age, birthday: 27, May 30th 1990
gender, pronouns: She/Her
species: Organic Mutant
ability: Shapeshifter
occupation: Field Agent/Agent Trainer
faceclaim: Alicia Vikander
ABILITY
At first glance, there is little mystery to a woman like Katarina Olsson. She was easy to assess; a superficial, Swedish beauty whoâs wealth made her both fundamentally lazy yet unbearably charming. A classic âpretty little rich girlâ that was irritating at worse, but generally harmless. But underneath her porcelain skin and shallow demeanor is a shapeshifter unlike any other. A pretty face with hundreds and thousands at her disposal, sheâs likable enough to maintain rapport with her targets yet forgettable enough to remain unscathed when she adapted a new persona.
As a shapeshifter, Katarina is able to reproduce an exact physical replica of any human or mutant whom sheâs come to contact with. In her early years, Katarina was limited to her parents and close affiliations due to familiarity. Over time, she has mastered her skill to be able to asses physical criteria from pictures and videos and adapt it skillfully. Beyond physical appearance, her vocal chords and identifiable biological characteristics (DNA, blood type, known medical conditions, etc) can be adapted to whomever she is replicating. This comes with drawbacks; however, depending on the extent of information Katarina has about who sheâs replicating. Ideally, a full dossier including updated medical information would make for an accurate portrayal of another person. However, Katarina often has to reduce herself to a physical replica at minimum.
BACKGROUND
The Olssonâs were to the Sweden what Fordâs or Vanderbiltâs were to America; turn-of-the-century pioneers whoâs legacy echoed through the 20th century. Doctor Matthias Olsson birthed advanced medical treatments, focused on the treatment and rehabilitation of soldiers on the front. At the beginning, the Olssonâs legacy drew a mediocre flame; enough to earn meager money and mild appraisal as âOlsson Pharmaceuticals.â But a unique proposition came from a visiting physician from the United States of America: The Company. With little to lose, Doctor Matthias Olsson ventured to America in pursuit of a new life goal; using the potency of mutant genetics to pave the way to medical discovery.
At the beginning, Doctor Olsson approached organic mutants clinically. Using his advanced degrees and wealth of experience, he ignited and elevated their abilities â all while using the research to brainstorm new forms of healthcare for the human populous. For years, he easily turned a blind eye to the pain and suffering mutants underwent for the greater good of âscience.â But Cupidâs fickle arrow struck the doctor when a young woman, Valentina Baldwin, was brought into The Company for experimentation for her shapeshifting abilities. With her, the doctor was tender in his experimentation. Her words of resistance against the worldâs view of mutants changed something in the logical doctor. Perhaps it was love, or impending guilt⌠But he made a change for the better. Utilizing his influence over The Company as its leading physicians, he helped pave the way for improved conditions and treatment for mutants.
What was born of his love was more than a change in The Companyâs culture, but a beautiful baby girl â Katarina Olsson. The daughter of a human and a mutant, Katarina was born on May 30th, 1990 within the walls of The Company. Thought of as a âlove childâ and a symbol of changing perspectives on mutants alike, the young Swedish girl was the apple of human and mutant eyes alike within the facility. Many would come to believe this as a happy story, with her mother and father changing the way of a major organization â but not all shared Doctor Olssonâs progressive stance on mutants. Senior leaders of The Company were wary of Doctor Olssonâs bold new approach to mutants. He spoke of equality, fairness, and freedom of choice for mutants. He preached humanity, to what a handful of radical senior leaders believed to be âmonstersâ mimicking humans.
As an act of conservatism, the senior leaders held a coup to separate the invaluable Doctor Olsson from the âleechâ that was his wife and daughter. On the eve of Katarinaâs eight birthday, Valentina was assigned a rogue mission in the South of France with a team of human operatives. Days later, the operatives reported Valentinaâs death in the field, citing violence from rival mutant organizations. The news quickly tore apart the Olssonâs, forcing the grief stricken doctor back to his lab and his daughter to meander in their country home by her lonesome.
The young Katarina, driven by grief and without a woman to call her mother, sought comfort in the spoils of her fatherâs substantial earnings. She relied on her name, wealth, beauty, and intelligence to propel her to success. However, while most Olssonâs dreamed of an Ivy League education or their first Nobel prize â Katarinaâs version of success was sipping mimosas on her friendâs yacht or stealing a kiss from Prince Harry at a royal assembly. Her temperament made her easily bored, quick to frustrate, and prone to recklessness.
As she grew older, her abilities and raw talent became a source of intrigue for Initiative X. Without another shapeshifter in their records, Katarinaâs abilities and lineage proved beneficial. A fantastic resource with all the loyalty to their cause â just waiting to be tapped. At her fatherâs bequest, Katarina departed from a life of reckless abandon for the discipline of Initiative X. Many cited this change of heart as her fatherâs discipline, but beneath her shallow demeanor is a greater purpose â to uncover the truth of her motherâs âdeath.â
HEADCANONS
i. Katarina has what many enviably call âraw talent.â Beyond her ability to shapeshift into any human being, her fatherâs intelligence. With photographic memory and years of training with The Company, now known as Initiative X, sheâs gifted â but fundamentally lazy. Years spent lazying about yachts and blowing through her trustfund make her unmotivated and quick to discourage.
ii. Laughably enough, Katarina has over 100 literary classics memorized page-for-page; including all major religious books. Although she will sarcastically claim its for the sake of her field agency, sheâs a lover of literature. A product of fond memories with her mother.
iii. At first, Katarina was only seen as Doctor Olssonâs daughter â allowing her the freedom and privilege to depart from The Company. After all, she wasnât an agent â only the daughter of one. But at age seventeen, she was recruited into the program. Putting an end to her tumultuous years, sheâs often slipping in and out of the facilities in different forms to indulge her reckless behavior.
iv. A lover of âexperience,â she dives head first into situations and missions without a second thought. Outside the field, sheâs a firm believer in forming emotional attachments and creating a pseudo-family; a side-effect of her fatherâs disclosure and motherâs death.
v. At first, The Company was more than an organization â it was her family. It brought her mother and father together, and forged a culture of more humane treatment for humans. Even at twenty-seven, she is loyal to Initiative Six and what it stands for⌠But even she cannot deny the discrepancy in her motherâs death and her fatherâs evasiveness. Despite his insistence that it was an accident, she has her doubts. Alas, the wonder child of The Company operates her own mission; to uncover the truth.
when do mutants start to show signs of their powers and when they do, is it public knowledge or can they hide it?
It depends on the mutant! Some show their abilities early in life, and some can be considered late bloomers! The public knowledge also depends. If they displayed their powers within the past year-ish, there is a higher chance of the public knowing, because of the mutant registration. However, if they were public with displaying their power previously, they could be known for it as well. All in all, it is different to each mutant! They could have hid their ability extremely well! So, there is no real set guidelines about when their ability develops and when they are found out!Â

AGENT #0023
full name: Clark Davis
age, birthday: 27, July 18th
gender, pronouns: Male, he/him
species: Human
occupation: Technology Agent
faceclaim: Xavier Samuel
SPECIAL SKILLS
Clarkâs intellectual skillset deemed worthy for Initiative X, as he managed to work on equipment that was suited to his sisterâs ability, without having the resources or collected knowledge that the Initiative had access to. Clark has a vast knowledge of the human anatomy on a cellular level and can determine where ones ability originates from and how it works. Based on that, he is able to design and develop technologic that has a desired effect on their ability. For example, it could give an ability a strength boost, a more definitive aim (for those who trigger it without being able to aim), tone it down, etc. Apart from creating designated equipment (which he prefers), he also works on tools and weapons to nullify or counter abilities to be used by his human field agent colleagues.
BACKGROUND
Clark Davis is a child of a car mechanic and a medicine researcher at the local hospital. He led a simple life along with his elder brother and sister and his two younger sisters. They were a tight bunch, with the occasional bickering session, but each of them connected and fitted. When asked about it, Clark could only reply that he had a very happy childhood.
Ever since he was able to crawl, Clark Davis was a curious, bright boy. He was often found outside, lying in the grass, fascinated by the ants that were so tiny, yet so strong. He could look at them for a good while before picking up a few and putting them in his mouth, after which he got a scolding from his mother and a screech from his older sister. His fascination didnât stop there. It expanded to all living forms, nature, space, bikes, cars. The compulsive need to understand everything lead to experimenting on various things, which werenât always the safest of ways to spend ones time. One time, there even was an resurrection attempt on a squirrel that Clark and his friends carelessly executed. While it didnât work, the creative thought process and the math work, was quite impressive. There very little in the world that didnât peeked the interest of Clark and there was even fewer things that Clark wouldnât try out or even build himself.
In high school, Clark used his saved up money to buy a scrap car from the salvage yard. With broken and spare parts from his fatherâs shop, he managed to rebuild the car to a wonderful state. There were even interested buyers; seniors from his high school. He used the money to buy other cars from the salvage yard and flipped those too. To do something he was passionate about and be able to make money from that was one of the greatest things that could happen to the boy. And it turned out it would come in handy as well. His younger sister was showing signs of extraordinary abilities. The kind that the family didnât want to bring out into the world, scared of losing her. After they learned more and more about her abilities and what it could do, it was harder to keep it under control and to hide it. Whenever Clark was free from school. heâd work on his cars and sell them, so that he had money to buy parts and try to create something that would help his sister control her ability and hiding it. In which he succeeded.
By the time he finished high school, he was a very skilled amateur engineer with an impressive resume. His family supported his dreams of studying aerospace engineering at MIT, miles away from home. However, in the summer before he was leaving for MIT, something happened. His sister lost control. The damages were major and there was no way of hiding it now. Some organisation or company took her away for research and safekeeping, convincing their parents that it was for the best. But the siblings were less than happy about that. It was in that moment that Clark decided to switch his educational plan. He decided to double major in mechanical engineering, as well as biological engineering. While it was a rough ride, his talent, motivation and enjoyment allowed him to actually pull it off. His goal was a clear one: Create technology that would allow mutants to control and harness that power.
Initiative X apparently shared a similar goal and recruited him fresh out of college, where they promised him to reunite him with his sister, as well as allowing him creative freedom when it came to mutant enhancement and nullification technology.
HEADCANONS
i. While Clark is all about new innovation and unheard of techniques, he has a real love for the vintage/old-fashioned technology, music, etc. Often when heâs tinkering or designing, he listens to music like âMorning Train (nine to five) - Sheena Eastonâ (a favourite of his) on his walkman that he found in his parentâs attic years ago.
ii. Clark is mutant sympathiser. He thinks all mutants should share the same rights as humans, yet he also agrees that not all ought to be wandering the streets unchecked.
iii. Clark isnât quite sure what to think of Initiative X. Heâs been there a while now, but he goes back and forth on them. What theyâre doing is necessary, he agrees, but their methods seem a little fishy to him sometimes. That said, he isnât quite up to date with what they do and donât do during missions, since itâs a whole other department. His view is that he can help mutants be less of a threat and make their allied mutants stronger by creating enhancing gear or gear that lets them control their ability better.
iv. While Clark is somewhat of a mechanical genius, he doesnât necessarily identify himself as that. He also likes to just joke around, flirt, go on adventures, surfing, hiking, camping, etc. He is irked by the people at Initiative X who simply view as 'the mechanicâ and not as a person.
v. His workplace has been described more than once as 'waking up in a frat houseâ.
vi. Clark is passionate about a lot of things, which sometimes distracts him from other aspects of his life, like family, friends, relationships, etc.
