Ah, no problem! I’ll admit I’m not the savviest at Tumblr haha, but unless it’s throwing a fit, you should be able to message me the same place you send in asks! I have both turned on, and whether or not you’ve posted anything shouldn’t matter. I love that I found a blog with so much faith and talk about the Lord on it. My Jesus and my Mama(we watch the Rat Patrol together) are my everything to me.

I think one of my favorite things about the Rat Patrol is that I don’t have a favorite character. All four are just so kind and decent. And they treat each other with so much respect and no one is picked on(I hate when one character is constantly picked on as with most shows.) Their friendship and care for each other is so beautiful that I don’t have to have a favorite! I also appreciate that Tully is shown as an intelligent character. I’m not from Kentucky but I am from somewhere in Appalachia and we are usually depicted as unintelligent in media.

Anon, the same thing happened to this one as well 😭 Absolutely, stay on Anon if you prefer! (But know my DM’s are always open if that sounds better to you!) I love that you watch RP with your mom; some of my favorite shows I watch and love is because I watched them with mine. Faith and family are so wonderful!

I must admit, while I love all the characters (even Dietrich, in some ways), I think Tully is my favorite. His wit, quiet intelligence, and hidden (most of the time) love for chaos like the rest of his team really make him stand out for me. But I agree that the friendship and small ways that they all care and look out for each other makes it so you can enjoy all of the characters! I’m so sorry that the media distorts and stereotypes where you’re from. Even small jabs can have large impacts.

I’m the anon from a couple of days ago. Thank you so much for responding so kindly to me! We have restarted the Rat Patrol from the beginning and wanted to know if you could answer a few questions about your posts if you remember? Where did you find out Tully and Troy’s ages? I’ve always wondered how old they all are supposed to be. And you mentioned in your Rat Patrol tags headcannons you had but I couldn’t find them in the tags. Do you still have them? I love platonic headcanons! I realized your posts about the show were from years ago after I messaged you. LOL! Sorry if I’m bugging you about things you don’t even remember now! LOL! I thank you again for being so kind! Really glad I came out of my social media shell to message you!

Anon! I’m so sorry!! My tumblr didn’t notify me that you sent this until just now?? Really odd, but that’s tumblr for you I suppose. I’m so glad you messaged me as well! Don’t feel bad about how long ago my posts are from, trust me, I’m pretty much attached to my fandoms for life (Hardy Boys still holds a fond place in my heart from childhood and I’ll still occasionally flip through my books haha).

Their ages came from online, I believe from photos of Rat Patrol books?? I will definitely have to try and find them if you’re interested!

My headcanons are all platonic and mostly revolve around home life, both before and after the war. I do have a few that are based in Africa however! One is pre-show, revolving around Tully. I think he’s the oldest of many siblings and really took care of his mother whose health was pretty bad. When he gets drafted and sent to Africa, he considers running, a combination of frustration and a rough CO, and that’s where he meets Troy. Troy stops him then and later saves him after he’s captured by Germans and interrogated. Troy’s daring and concern for a soldier he doesn’t even know convinces Tully to stay. It’s one of my favorites that I eventually want to write a story on, but I have not had the time haha. I actually have an entire word document for this show!

Hey, so I’m super social media shy and never send posts to anyone. I messaged with one person about a year ago a few times. But other than that that’s it.

I found your tumblr by accident because I was looking up The Rat Patrol. Do you still watch it? We discovered it about a year ago and love the wholesomeness and the friendship between the characters. They are just such decent people. That’s hard to find in media. And love your faith post about the Lord. Just really felt like I should say that to you!

I absolutely still watch Rat Patrol, for mostly the same reasons you listed! It’s such a fun comfort show for me. My friend and I got into it when we were in college, and I loved it so much that I ended up buying the DVD set. It’s definitely time for a rewatch. That’s so exciting that you like it as well! I’ll be honest, I’m also pretty shy 😂. However, I also love talking about shared interests and love discovering new ones as well.
