So, a while back I made a Steven Universe OC because I absolutely loved the show when I was younger, and I always wanted to have a character of my own in that universe.

To help me connect with her a little more, I ended up writing a small one-shot featuring her (she's a Peridot, because Peridot was my favorite!) and a Snowflake. I wrote it back in 2023, I think.

I wanted to share it somewhere so I'd always have it saved, and I originally posted it here. But after a while, it started to feel a little uncomfortable having it up, so I decided to move it over to my Strawpage instead!

English isn't my first language, and back then my English was definitely a lot shakier than it is now. So if you notice any mistakes or awkward wording, feel free to let me know!

I was introduced to Roblox and Gems Era 1, and this was an interaction I witnessed, a little out of character, but the beef between Agate and Sapphire, plus Blue's confusion, had me laughing my head off

Basically, this comic and the previous one took place at the same time, but putting everything into a single comic would have been too chaotic.

Pink Pearl (and White)

I've been rewatching some episodes of Steven Universe, and something stood out to me.

Pearls aren't just... servants. They're much closer to the broad idea of "companions." Also the show (I think) was originally pitched to Adult Swim before ending up on Cartoon Network, so there are a lot of social dynamics that are only implied rather than explicitly explained.

The relationship between Pink Pearl and White Diamond is left pretty open to interpretation, but I've noticed that many fans portray it as inherently traumatic. Personally, I see it differently.

To me, Pink Pearl's trauma is rooted in Pink Diamond, not White Diamond. Before becoming Rose Quartz, Pink Diamond was impulsive and often destructive, and Pink Pearl herself mentions that Pink's outbursts were frequent.

White Diamond, on the other hand, is portrayed as deeply condescending because she sees herself as perfection. So, in her eyes, wouldn't Pink Pearl have seemed like the perfect Pearl? Gentle, obedient, endlessly patient, and completely loyal to her Diamond despite the ab*se she endured.

I'm not saying White asked for Pink Pearl's consent—the series clearly suggests she is not gentle when taking others control. But I do think White would have treated a Pearl who fulfilled her purpose so flawlessly with far more composure than she showed toward the other Diamonds or the Gems she viewed as rebellious.

I wanted to draw this conversation since Valentine 😤 I literally wrote it down that day but I wanted to draw all that happens in between before to finally do it 😩

This is longer than usual, sorry for not painting it Here I wanted to show the uncertainty and acceptance that Grace has for her situation, although, keep in mind that even though she says and thinks that way, she doesn't really feel that Zuzu hates her, but rationally, she has all the reasons for doing so, you know? So she remains very open to the idea of Zuzu's rejection, she thinks it would be spected, but she doesn't know how MUCH Zuzu adores her

Indeed, Zuzu is now able to show affection, and she has overcome her internal crisis and can now act as she would like with Grace ...However, Grace is a whole world of her own. Just because Zuzu now shows affection, doesn't mean she'll be accepted (the way she wants) by Grace. In fact, Grace didn't even knew she liked Zuzu this much until recently.
