hello tumblr, i’m back with a new hyperfixation - severance. just binged every episode within the last few days and am here with a quick theory about the most recent ep (2x5) so spoilers ahead!

at the end of ep 5 mark discovers gemma is actually alive at lumon as ms casey. gemma/ms casey is providing details to mark about his outie, all of which are extremely specific to him, rather than the generic ones that she usually provides to innies during a wellness session. she tells mark his outie “pays bills within three days, prefers two scoops of ice cream but they must be the same flavor, listens to music while shaving now showering, etc.” these are all small, minor, yet intimate details only gemma could know about mark.

the cliffhanger of the episode is then when gemma/ms casey says “your outie is going to be -“ where is cuts off. now here is where the theories come flooding in. due to the events in episode 4, people believe helena is going to become pregnant.

i don’t know whether helena will become pregnant or not but either way, this sparked my interest because i think if gemma/ms casey does end up saying “your outie is going to be a father” helena is not what going to be what she is referring to. i believe that is going to be a double meaning or a red herring. because i believe gemma/ms casey is going to be referring to herself.

because of the intimate details she provided mark about his outie this far, it seems fitting she’d tell him he will be a father because she was pregnant before she died. my thought is she had just found out and was planning on telling him, but then got in the accident. 😭

the fact marks innie slept with helena sets this up in a way that people will be thinking it about her, which it still could be, but it could also be a trick to later reveal gemma was pregnant all along.

okay my final thoughts on the most recent ep of agatha lol

i’ve seen people on tiktok say they think billy created his own version of the hex and is controlling and/or manipulating the road. at first i thought this was extremely unlikely, but then i remembered this scene we got in one of the trailers of the show. it looks eerily similar to wanda in MoM as she’s searching for her children. also! notice how in billy’s scene it looks exactly like the door to the road?

i don’t necessarily think this is enough evidence to prove billy is controlling everything, but i certainly think it’s a good easter egg. it’s also interesting how he has been the only one to find all of the clues for each of the trials so far, so he definitely possesses some sort of knowledge of the road to know how to progress. i am so interested to see where this storyline goes and to see how agatha and billy interact with each other from here on out since she has no real reason to protect him now that she knows he is not nicholas.

i’ve seen some people very upset that billy is the 🖤 to be apart of the coven because they don’t understand how it could be him and not rio. and one of their main arguments is “well he didn’t drink the wine in the first trial” and so on but i am rewatching the show, and in this trial, although he didn’t drink the wine, he still was still crucial to completing the trial. jen says the final ingredient for the potion is “the blood of the unpoisoned” which was billy. so although he didn’t drink the wine, there was still a specific role within the coven he had to play and he fulfilled it exactly as he was supposed to.

i know another big argument people have is he’s not a green witch, and i will say i have no idea how all that comes into play but i’m sure by the end of the show, it will all come together 🙂‍↕️

**edit** Also!!! now that i think of it! more to argue the point rio isn’t actually a green witch either - everyone who’s claiming rio is 🖤/a green witch because she appeared when the coven summoned her. but let remember why she was summoned!! bc mrs hart died. rio was there to collect her body, conveniently giving her an “in” for her join them.

sooooo it’s confirmed billy is the black heart?!! so that means we will definitely see a trial for him, most likely the one after lilia’s. this will be really interesting to see where rio’s storyline goes as well…

i’m starting to believe the theories that rio is really on the road for billy because he broke the rules and reincarnated as william kaplan, meaning rio couldn’t get her body when he died. she tells agatha she’s there for a job in the first episode, and then once rio joins them on the road, i believe she is the one who threw billy through the glass in alice’s trial.

what i don’t quite have figured out yet is why now? we know billy has been living as william for 3 years by this point, so why would she only be going after him now? is it because he went back to westview and sought out agatha? or maybe something else entirely that is to be revealed in the coming episodes.

i have this strong feeling the fight scene we see of agatha and rio that was in the midseason trailer is going to be about this. rio has finally come to claim william’s body, but agatha is protective over billy. even after he uses his power on her, agatha is supportive of billy and i really think she cares for him, most likely because it resembles her relationship with nicholas. i think agatha is going to fight rio saying she can’t take him as she’d be losing another son figure in her life. and my biggest fear is that this battle will not end well, most likely for agatha. whether that means she sacrifices herself for billy or if she loses rio again, either scenario extremely painful 😭

**agatha epidsode 6 spoilers**

forgive me if this is a dumb question but has agatha just had rio in her head this entire time?? or at least up until the point rio joins the coven on the road??

after tonight’s episode where we get his first interaction with agatha from his perspective, everything agatha experienced under wanda’s spell was entirely made up down to the clothing she was in. obviously we knew the crime scene, police station, etc was fake but i was not expecting her clothes & responses from the people she was talking to to be altered as well. (again pls forgive me if this was common knowledge lol)

so now to my question: we see billy look in agatha’s window before he breaks in, and we see her having a conversation with someone (which we know to be rip), however rip isn’t actually ever shown. we also don’t see her when agatha is interrogating billy. from the point when billy breaks the spell, the scenes sort of just began to skip ahead until we eventually end up back at the road. we don’t even see the fight scene between agatha and rip. which that part is not to say it didn’t actually happen but it’s hard to say for certain bc the scenes fast forwarded by that point. also, at the end of the ep, it’s only agatha and teen that continue on to the next trial. we assumed from the last episode that rio (from her *speculated/leaked* character) is dealing with alice’s body, but i wouldn’t have assumed but this point she would have returned.

so has rio just been in agatha’s head this whole time?? i would love to hear people’s explanations to this bc it could just be me not understanding or jac schaeffer is just on a mission to make me sob 😅

*edit: adding onto this!! we also seen billy texting his bf eddie, in which eddie says “you are my 🖤” from this we can put together that from the list of name’s lilia wrote down for the coven it has to be billy. we all assumed rio bc of her saying “i have a heart it’s black and it beats for you” and i think even agatha thought this as she didn’t want to deal with feelings & complex relationship with rio. but bc lilia places the sigil on billy, she wouldn’t have known him by his name, only by the 🖤

my mind is going crazy and if my theory is true all this show/jac schaeffer make me do is cry 😭

i saw a theory that episode 5 was really teen’s trial, not agatha’s so i wanted to spill all my thoughts in support of that theory. so far, each of the trials have been a specific “era” or time period that corresponds directly to which member of the coven is facing the trial.

we find out the first trial is specific to jenn, as she has to create the antidote to the poison. but there are other indicators that help point us to knowing the trial is specifically hers. first, the phase of the moon on the door, which teen reveals is the water phase. then we see once they enter the house, it’s a more modern era, jenn herself noting she looks like one of her customers.

moving into alice’s trial, we know it’s hers because 1) the phase of the moon and 2) the trial being set in the 70s is specific to her mother’s version of the ballad

when we move into the third trial, we get the 80s theme. teen asks who’s trial this is and rio immediately responds with agatha. but there’s nothing specific about this trial to indicate that it is for agatha. however there is a LOT of signs pointing to it being teen’s trial. 1) it’s set in the 80s which is the last time period in wandavision we see billy, and he’s even in the matching outfit 2) it’s set up like a sleepover which would better represent billy’s lost childhood more so than whatever camp trauma agatha may have faced 3) lastly, this is a big stretch but my eyes were immediately drawn to the tv being on and the static channel. i think this is again referencing wandavision and the life wanda created for billy 4) okay last one for real this time, and again i might be making something out of nothing but as soon as the coven entered the cabin, the only thing i immediately thought of was the cabin we see wanda living in in the post credits at the end of wandavision

i’ve also seen theories wanda is somehow controlling the trial, which i don’t think is likely but i think all of the wanda references certainly point to teen/billy. and if the cabin was indeed a reference to her, it may have been that the trial was supposed to be talking to wanda through the ouija board. i believe the reason it focuses on agatha’s trauma with her mother and nicholas is because they broke all of the rules of the ouija. because she taunted the spirit, it was released in the form of her mother, so i really don’t think that was the goal of the trial. lastly, because the door opened once billy said the name nicholas scratch, i think that means he had to be the one to solve the trial.

there’s still so many questions i have and i’m so excited for the coming episodes but i think this theory is fun. i’ve also seen theories the trial isn’t even over yet, which i think would be cool to explore that more. but yeah so glad i was able to release these thoughts from my head, i doubt anyone will see it but 🤷🏻‍♀️

hahaha welp, jac confirmed it was indeed agatha's trial soooo literally just ignore this whole thing 🤪 and not only that but they did pass the trial, so it was not left unfinished for the next episode. with that being said I cannot wait to rewatch episode 5 with this knowledge and jac's explanation

I think that the Coven is going to repeat episode 5 and the key to fixing things will be succeeding in Lilia's trial:

Things are wrong from the get go. Lilia has knowledge she shouldn't have.

Lilia wakes up and immediately knows they're in danger. Prodded by Rio to explicitly name who is after them, she says it's the Salem Seven.

Except in episode 2 and thus episodes 3 and 4 as well, Lilia doesn't know it's the Salem Seven after them. She says "well, whatever chased Agatha down here, it's our problem now". She didn't sense the Seven attacking Agatha's house in episode 2, or that the crow witch was outside her building, and neither Agatha or Teen clarified for the others at that point.

So how and why would she know it's the Seven now?

She certainly isn't guessing.

She isn't divining it; there's no actual prediction, no tarot call outs, she doesn't say anything outright out of sync and she isn't spaced out like she usually is when her psychic abilities manifest. She knows exactly what is going on in that moment. This is not being shown as knowledge coming to her from elsewhere, this is information she consciously already has.

She just woke up and knew they were in immediate danger.

Almost like it's happened before.

It's established both that time can go weird on the Road and that Lilia has temporal magic

The version of the Ballad that the Coven sings in episode 2: "through many miles/of tricks and trials".

Lorna Wu's version of the Ballad: "the Road is wild and wicked/winding out of time".

Lilia says about her own abilities in this episode that she reads people and she reads time.

Everything about the trial is wrong and everything goes wrong inside it.

They fly through the bug witch with Agatha still having a bug in her hair in the Cabin, which would point to the entire thing being a trap by the Salem Seven.

We don't see the moon phase on the door to confirm who it really belongs to. The door doesn't lose its handles: they aren't trapped in like previous trials.

Aspect ratio doesn't change like with previous trials.

The trial itself makes no sense, aesthetically it doesn't match Agatha, it doesn't have a logical way for her to use her knowledge/power to overcome it, and it directly seeks to split the Coven apart where every previous trial is about them having to work together.

They climb up out of the cabin, not "down, down, down the Road" like with previous trials.

They break every rule given to them in the Cabin.

The ouija board jumps at them whereas every previous trial had them stumble on clues they had to decipher.

They fail the trial. Alice dies, they choose to abandon Agatha instead of helping her overcome her trauma, they're completely fractured as a coven, they didn't use their knowledge/power.

Almost as if none of this should have happened.

Lilia's premonitions seems heavily focused on events in episode 5, she is repeatedly singled out as acting strange by the others in this episode

People have already worked out that it's likely "Try to save Agatha" from episode 3 and "Alice don't" from episode 4 were supposed to be said together in episode 5 as "Alice, don't try to save Agatha".

Lilia also says that "[she] hated this the first time" during the episode. To which Teen then says "Lilia's acting weird again", which is practically a neon sign that Lilia's words aren't benign.

Then, after Everything, she says "death comes for us all" in an almost resigned, mournful way that doesn't track with her previous reactions to danger and coven members dying. And Agatha specifically clocks this, she look thoughtful, like she just got given a missing puzzle piece.

Lilia was terrified by her hallucinations in episode 3, angry and upset about Sharon in episode 4, she repeatedly shows a lot of empathy towards Alice specifically, and yet we're lead to believe she just accepts that Alice is dead and moves on? No.

If Lilia is this resigned to the death of a coven member it's because she's either literally not herself via some kind of possession or because she is stuck in a loop trying and failing to prevent tragedy.

But she can't do it alone.

Lilia's trial will involve course correcting the Coven's mistakes in episode 5.

In the trailer for the show we see a scene of Lilia's trial. It clearly confronts witch stereotypes, outfitting her as Glinda the Good Witch. It also clearly involves the Salem Seven in some way. She is actually shown floating/falling with them in a room with swords standing blade up beneath them. (This is definitely reaching now but the saying 'to fall on your sword' comes to mind, meaning to sacrifice yourself for something.)

In episode 2, she tells Agatha that she doesn't miss the glory days because she was chased from every village she passed through due to accurately predicting tragedy. I posit that Lilia's trial is about her overcoming her fear of her psychic magic and resentment of witch stereotypes and the heartache and loneliness this has caused her by fixing the timeline. She has to figure out how to actively control her magic to get her predictions to the right times, and the rest of the Coven has to believe her.

It's a trust fall, literally. She might have to sacrifice herself, in hopes that eventually she'll get her outbursts to the right times and be able to keep the Coven safe and whole long enough for them to save her at the end by working together to defeat the Seven. Allowing them to complete the Road "Coven true".

Agatha will be the one to help Lilia trust herself, as she did with Jen and Alice in previous trials, she is cast as the Wicked Witch to Lilia's Glinda meaning a central aspect of the trial will be their relationship. The Coven must trust each other, they have to look beyond stereotypes and let go of their preconceived notions about each other. She might be the first one, with Rio, to piece together what's happening and believe Lilia.

also wanna talk about this!! i’ve been seeing people say agatha has clocked teen as billy since the beginning, but was just holding on hope that it could be nicholas. in this scene from episode 4, agatha clearly sees something in mrs. hart’s face that tells her it wasn’t the poison from the trial that killed her. she then says to teen “i didn’t think you had it in you,” but he acts confused. once we get to the trial in episode 5, agatha pretends that she is possessed by mrs. hart. and while yes it’s possible she was scared to truly confront her past, i really think she was trying to call teen’s bluff.

when she got confirmation from rio in episode for that teen is not her son, I think she was trying to get in teen’s head/scare him by acting like mrs. hart. and honestly maybe even expose him in front of everyone until rio tells her to stop faking it. you can see teen looking a little uneasy when it’s revealed mrs. hart is present, which i think helps support that he had something to do with her death.

i have no idea what teen’s motive would be, whether it’s trying to secure his place in the coven or if he’s somehow working with rio, i just think it’s interesting to look back now that it is confirmed he is billy.

also wanted to add: me saying teen killed sharon does not mean i think he’s evil. we see in alice’s death and his reaction to agatha he clearly doesn’t want to use his power as a means to hurt others. as agatha said best, he is very much like his mother and might not even realize what he is doing while he uses his powers.

i’ve never read the comics so this is purely my thoughts as someone who is only getting this information from the shows. i could be completely wrong, but these are just my observations
