can’t tell if I’m just delusional but I’m thinking a lot about how hands are used for storytelling in non-demonium. During flashbacks before the murder, Amane’s mom has emphasized hands. Most noticeable when Amane is about to be alone with her, and when her mom is beating her. Times when Amane views her mom as this looming threat of “punishment”, focusing on the hands beating her and making them seem larger than they are because of the pain they cause

But when she collapses, Amane becomes the one in control for the first time. And suddenly mom’s hands look smaller and frail. Amane sees her mom’s hands as no longer being a threat, and when they beg for mercy (holding out the phone for her to call 911), she realizes these hands can’t force her to do anything. Amane becomes the one to give out punishment. And so the camera follows her first, zooming in to make it seem larger and more threatening like her mother’s

i think i don't really vibe with most other fans of my favorite male characters is because they usually depict them too much of a man, and i am not interested in men, i am interested in The Character. and i am not saying that they should depict them as women, or nonbinary, or should depict them as feminine, no, not at all. but there's like, you know, you can depict a male character as The Character, and you can depict them as The Man. do you get me? like, i go to the fandom looking for art and fics, and it's just, regardless of his actual characterization, it's all just fantasizing about some kind of an abstract dominant patriarch, wearing my favorite character's face. it may be the most totally-wouldnt-have-normal-relationships (and sometimes even would-literally-abuse-you) kind of guy, and you join a dedicated space for his fans, and all they talk about is how they want to marry and start a tradcore 50s style nuclear family with him. it can be a guy who's arrogance and attempts of domination are explicitly shown to be a facade that hide the fact that he's actually kind of a massive pathetic wet loser, and you go to his fics, and they're all depicting him as a caricaturish daddy dom. at this point it's like, do you even like the character at all, or do you just like The Man, and project this man onto whatever character you find visually attractive? and these people kind of, really really poison actual discussion of the character, who is kind of a fucked up evil person (i only like *those* types, so im talking about them) because they see analysis of the actual character as an attack on their fantasized daddy dom husband, who is actually isn't The Character at all, and is simply a face of the day for The Man

I’d like to add this photo I took last night in Victoria of the statue of Captain Cook. Though I myself am not indigenous, I 100% agree that these murderers, kidnappers and rapists shouldn’t have huge statues and plaques that decorate them and say how “great” they were.

Here’s another photo of the legislative assembly from yesterday. Later on there were more items, candles and signs at the memorial, as well as a big poster with 1505 painted on it but I didn’t get a picture

People need to see this. Not just quickly glance at the photos and keep on scrolling. They need to see this.

I had seen the first picture of the church, but not the second.

I went to a “Cancel Canada Day” event and burst into tears - not because I was surprised to learn of the unmarked graves (survivors told us they were there. Our government pushed it aside, and we let them), but because seeing all the people gathered in mourning drove it home: They. Were. Children.

This is my country’s legacy - and it’s not history. The last schools closed during my lifetime. My Father went to school with students who lived at the local residential school, after it was changed to a boarding house (read: holding centre) for indigenous youth who went to local schools.

They were all children, injured, abused, and killed in my country’s attempt to erase them. I want the world to see this and hold the state accountable to *active* reconciliation> I mean we could at least truly adopt UNDRIP in action instead of words for god’s sake.

I've seen some other posts speculating about this but I'm thinking about Sua saying "last one" before kissing Mizi in ZOMST. I don't think she's dead. I think they did just sell her arm. Anyway here's my spitballing about why it's their 'last one';

Sua's infection is finally getting to her brain, similar to Mizi's. She clearly also has an infection on her head and we can infer the brain infection is what's shattered Mizi's mind here. Sua seems more coherent, but she's stil pretty out of it during the performance. It's possible she's losing her grip on reality and can tell she's about to lose it too

Sua is finally accepting Mizi is long dead. Mizi's not herself anymore- her hands hang limply when Sua holds them, she smiles mindlessly at the audience, she's completely unaware of their situation. Sua sees all of this, and gives her 'last kiss' to Mizi as she finally realises her Mizi is gone and never coming back

It's in reference to the fact Sua is about to lose her arm, and is no longer able to hold Mizi's face as we see her do many times (or, if you look at it from another lens, it means she's no longer able to 'control' the zombified mizi)
