Javascript Logging
Thanks to our friends at Loggly, we're now logging some debug information and errors from the client-side! This means no more asking for console outputs when you have issues--we have the information we need to solve your problems.

Javascript Logging
Thanks to our friends at Loggly, we're now logging some debug information and errors from the client-side! This means no more asking for console outputs when you have issues--we have the information we need to solve your problems.
New Domain
Now that we've acquired 2cloud.org, this changelog has been moved to updates.2cloud.org. The Twitter account (@2cloudupdates) should still work just fine, and anyone following on Tumblr shouldn't have to change anything.
Throbbing
It was pointed out that, if your internet connection is slow, it's possible to accidentally submit links twice. We just rolled out an update that removes the buttons and displays a throbber when sharing a link. We'll be putting throbbers in more areas where network latency could cause some confusion.
Don't Login If You Don't Want To
A bug was preventing the "Nevermind" button from functioning as expected when the login modal was raised. We've patched it to function as you'd expect.
8 bugs fixed is enough for one day. We'll update when we fix something else. :)
Bessie had a case of amnesia and thought all of your links were new.
We've cured her. She now remembers when you've clicked a link.
Duplicate Links & Table Summoning
To continue with our night of fixes, we just rolled out two more fixes:
We've fixed the annoying bug with duplicate links appearing when sending a link.
When sending your first link, it wouldn't appear until the page was refreshed. Once the page was refreshed, the links would automatically appear. The issue was the link table not being there for links to be added to--the table now magically appears for your first link.
As always, let us know if you notice anything breaky.
Usernames updated, links lost
We have good news and bad news:
The good news is that we've restructured our schema to better handle your username.
The bad news is that links were not restructured to be correctly tied to accounts. So we reset the links database. Sorry, that's the price of playing with early beta software. We did warn you we'd lose data. :(
We're calling this "The Houdini Patch". Bessie now escapes...
.. your input. Go nuts! Enter any character you want into any of our inputs. Let us know if you manage to break something!
Pagination Layout Fix
Nobody had sent enough links to notice (yet), but when pagination extended to about 9 pages of links, the invisible offsets and positioning in CSS were creating a large, annoying margin on the right side of the page that brought about a horizontal scrollbar. We've updated the centering on the pagination to be a bit more... sane. It now only uses the space it actually needs. Imagine that.
Smarter Link Handling
We just rolled out a quick patch that fixes the way we handle links. Before, sending "google.com" would give you a relative link; that is, if you clicked it on our dashboard, it would send you to "http://app.2cloudproject.com/links/count:5/page:1/google.com", which is probably not what you intended.
Now we do some jiggery-pokery that detects when there is no protocol at the beginning of the link and assigns HTTP for you. We won't go into the implementation details, but it should be pretty robust. If you can, try to break it!
@2cloudUpdates on Twitter
As per Sebastiano's request, we've now tied this account to @2cloudupdates. Feel free to follow along on Twitter. That is all.
First Link Doesn't Appear Right Away
We got another bug report. Yay!
Apparently, the first link you send doesn't appear until you reload the page. After your first link, links show up immediately (subject to our duplicate links problem).
We know the cause of this, and will be rolling out a fix as soon as we can.
Beta Launched, Bugs Fixed
We're going to be using this blog as a way to track what bugs we've found, what we've fixed, and what new features we've added. Our goal is, whenever we roll out new software, to update this blog with the changes. Consider it a changelog.
December 2nd we rolled out the private beta test to roughly 30 testers (I'm counting 33 keys, but 2 of those are my test accounts, 1 of those is Tino's account, and 2 of those are people who didn't request beta access but we extended it to anyways) and as I write this, 16 of those have been activated (including my 2 test accounts, but not Tino's or the 2 others).
Our bug reports so far:
Some users are getting no response.
Some users are getting redirected back to the registration page if they register then send a link.
Some users are seeing duplicates of their links appear immediately after sending a link, but disappear on page reload.
Our inputs aren't escaped. Oops!
Issue #1 was being caused for users who had capital letters in their usernames. This issue has been resolved.
Issue #2 is (we think) being caused by the way we handle URLs. We think we've resolved this one, but we're going to keep an eye out for it. Please report it if you see it!
Issue #3 is related to how we load links. We're working on a fix. Please note it will only affect users with less than five links in their dashboard.
Issue #4 is just an embarrassing oversight on our part. Including a " in a Comment or URL field lets you inject HTML or even malicious Javascript. Fortunately, you can only inject into your own pages right now, anyways, but we'll still be fixing this as soon as possible.
We also had 1 feature request:
Delete links from the dashboard
We'll be working on adding that, too.
