I thought Tumblr would celebrate Dick Cheney's death more. I was a teenager during the Bush administration and MAN those were some horrifying years.
RIP to every Afghan (46,319) and Iraqi (210,296) civilians who were murdered in the Global War on Terror.
Rest in Piss, Dick Cheney. I can only imagine demons are doing to you now what US soldiers did to Iraqi civilians in Abu Ghraib.
Gone but never forgiven… bye bye Dick Cheney
(Source)
Cheney strongly pushed for the Iraq War, lied to justify it, and then made millions of dollars through military/industrial contracts.
normalize flopping. it’s ok to fail baby. sexy even
the amount of people saying "i thought you meant flopping on the ground". target audience
People call moffats era misogynistic but it has NOTHING on this. Belinda had a whole set of memories and a life where she was living in a shared house working as a nurse being a woman in her thirties who didn't conform to the patriarchal ideals of motherhood. And that whole version of herself has been erased and replaced by a 'happy ending' when she had a daughter all along. But she didn't have a daughter all along??? Poppy only existed because of conrads wish. Conrad, who wished for a misogynistic, queerphobic, and ableist world. Why is this version where she is a mother the better ending? Why was Belinda and the Doctor's excitement at travelling together when Poppy was being erased framed as something tragic and wrong?? Say what you will about moffat but at least he explored the horror of unexpected motherhood in series 6. Why was Belinda nothing but happy and fulfilled at being a mother?
billie piper returning isn’t an awesome feminist moment or “haunting the narrative” or the story going full circle. It’s keys being jingled in front of our faces like babies
south africa was banned in the olympics in 1964, 1968, 1972, 1976, 1980, 1984, 1988 & 1992. a total of 8 times. for 28 years they didn't set foot in the olympics. you know why? apartheid. apparently the olympics disagreed with the apartheid regime in south africa. russia & belarus aren't allowed to take part in the olympics this year. you know why? because of their involvement in the war in ukraine. several countries throughout history haven't been allowed to participate in the olympics because of various reason from their involvement in war to human rights abuses. now if the olympics aren't blind to all that... why in the world are they blind to what israel has been doing to gaza for the past 10 months? why is a genocidal apartheid nation allowed to participate in the olympics when any other country in its place would've been banned?
I have to hand it to Donald Trump, I didn’t think the sequel to the 1932 Great Emu War would be a trade war against the penguin nation but he truly continues to be an innovator in the stupidity industry
I have seen too many women fall at the altar of nonchalant men.
