If the next Doctor Who companion isn’t a modern day human, they should be…
… an alien from a species older than humans, younger than time lords
… an alien species younger than humans
… a human from Earth’s past (pre 1800s)
… a human from Earth’s future (post 2080)
A construct/robot (human like)
If you’re willing, reblog once you’ve voted!

Now I'm really not saying everyone should watch classic who because they won't be real doctor who fans otherwise. I am saying though that everyone should watch classic who because it's damn good fun shit
HATE how good the EDA novels are because I can’t sound normal glazing them. Like yes it’s a doctor who spinoff novel series. Yes the British broadcasting channel show. No it’s like a completely separate plot line. No it’s like really good I know the reputation with spinoff series but it has some of the best writing like. Of the entire media. No it’s like REALLY good you have to trust me. I know I sound like a nerd right now yes. Just pretend it isn’t a doctor who spinoff okay will that make you understand me
”One thing our president cannot be accused of is incompetence. She may be guilty of compassion, intuition, emotion, honesty, integrity, pragmatism, even, but she is supremely competent. That is the root cause of most of our problems.“
She’s holding Nasturtiums for patriotism, Cardinal flowers for distinction, and Fennel for strength. Mercurialis on the ground for goodness. Based sort of on this dress.
[ID: Romana in white and gold, holding the mentioned flowers. There’s circular Gallifreyan in the background. /end ID]
I Am Not Human, I Walk In Eternity - An Aspec Lense on Doctor Who’s Desire and Humanity
A big deep dive into Doctor Who, amatonormativity, compulsory sexuality, asexual and aromantic coding and aspec identity in the whoniverse.
Intro Cw//: anti-asexual and anti-aromantic rhetoric, discussions of sex and romance and sexual assault will be discussed throughout the ent
Chapter 1 looks at the history of asexual and aromantic coding in the Doctor in Classic Who and how it worked as an early aspec character template.
Chapter 2 looks at how the Doctor became a more conventionally romantic and sexual character in nuwho, the "end" of the Doctor's asexuality and aromanticism and addressing the Steven Moffat aphobia allegations of 2012 :)
Chapter 3 addresses the (jarring) amatonormativity of nuwho, the way it represents romance and the harm that can cause.
Chapter 4 showcases a bunch of thoughts and experiences of ace and aro Doctor Who fans including my own on the show's representation and treatment from the fandom with the help of some cool people from the Doctor Who Ace and Aro Survey!
And last but not least, Chapter 5 covers some ace and aro readings of the Doctor and other characters and concludes my overall thoughts on the issues covered.
Years ago the book Lungbarrow was released online on the bbc classic dr who website, (as well as being a directors cut) artwork was produced for the story. Sadly the bbc since removed it from the site and only some of the images were archived on backups of the web page.
So a while back I scoured the internet for every image I could find (which had been saved on random fan sites and elsewhere) as the copies of most of the images which were in the pdf (which had been available for download from the bbc site) were quite low resolution. While doing so I compared the images which had been archived on the bbc site (and a few cropped down versions of some images I could not find a full version of) to their lower resolution equivalents in the pdf.
I found to my surprise some of the images depicting the same scene were completely different! (some had a face and some other details redone, with most other element roughly the same while others were whole different pictures)
All of what Imanged when I did this several years I saved (which is good as some of the sites with some of the image fragments have now gone) and as it came up in a conversation I was able to find them here they all are. Enjoy.
(Note as I said some the images are cropped down, or have had something saved on top of parts of them. I am posting these versions as they are higher resolution than the complete lower res version I am posting as well)
There are people on standing on the tiled floor but the resolution
The rest of this image of badger fighting is missing
(note the artist has since redone this image but I am not including that version here as It was created after the fact)
