dunno, it makes sense to me. A snail is a hard whirl with sticky stuff coming out and doesn’t really look like any other animal you encounter in day to day life so I imagine they’d be pretty frightening to people whose entire understanding of the natural world is “god did it and he hates us”

Please don’t go shopping on thanksgiving. If you don’t go, the stores will eventually start closing on thanksgiving again and the employees will be able to spend time with their families

i…don’t wanna be That Guy, but at least where i work (starbucks), our weekly tip amount and the number of hours we get scheduled per week is based largely on the amount of income our store makes per day. refusing to shop on a holiday where a lot of stores ARE already closed is just going to take away from the number of hours we can get and corporations are always going to find ways to blame us, the workers, or our stores individually for not bringing in business, they’re literally never going to look at a boycott like that and think “oh, maybe we just shouldn’t be open at all!” working holidays is just a reality for the working class. hell some of us LIKE working holidays b/c we get extra pay and we actively seek to be scheduled on those days what would be better instead i think would be to continue to be outspoken against the treatment of retail workers during the holidays and urging ppl to be polite and considerate when they shop, because that will actually help us out during the busy holidays!
