natsu on lucy’s hair: ft the celestial spirits
natsu asking lucy to call out cancer without telling her why. she calls him out, yelling at him not to try anything stupid, but he simply grabs cancer and starts speaking to him in a hurried whisper. it goes a lil bit like this
“yo, cancer. i wanna learn how to do those sick styles for lucy’s hair”
cancer, affronted, confused: “sure (suave) i can totally do that for you baby(suave again)” (i watched the show in dub. his catchphrase is baby)
NOW. here’s the thing. cancer tells natsu all about gels, hair ties, buns— all those techniques. nothing about scissors bc natsu wasn’t interested in that for whatever reason. cancer thought he would’ve been in order to prank lucy and cut her hair, but when asked natsu said “nahhh i just wanna know how you make all those weird shapes and stuff”. so hair ties and styling it was.
later, when cancer returns to the spirit world to tell the spirits about this odd interaction, most of them are unsurprised by natsu’s random request, but are curious as to why he wanted to learn. loke chimes in, saying he’s heard natsu mumbling under his breath during fights about how soft lucy’s hair looked. or how natsu sometimes whispered “strawberries?” after her hair flew in front of his face. natsu never noticed he said these things, they were unconscious and habitual.
the spirits came to the conclusion that natsu really just wanted to touch lucy’s hair. cute. reasonable for two yearning, oblivious wizards. it seemed like the right explanation— or at least the one they wanted.
later, cancer returns to the human world in a seemingly desperate call from lucy. not out of danger, but rather anger? shock? irritation?
he finds her hair stuck up in a gelled monstrosity of scrunchies. it is a scrunchie tower of hair. apparently, it had been done while lucy was dead asleep during their mission.
it’s fixable and unharmed, cancer just washes the gel out and snips the scrunchies off with utmost care. but this seemed to make more sense than the cute explanation they’d come up with for natsu originally. after it’s done, lucy gives natsu a good ol lucy kick. cancer lets it go and expects that this was a one time prank, and that natsu will probably never touch lucy’s hair again if not to prank her.
but it’s really a front.
a few weeks later, the spirits talk to each other— almost gossip like, about how lucy’s braided hairstyles have seemed more.. messy. loose. lately. has cancer been slacking? cancer is not in the room during this gossip hour, but walks in and overhears them. he defends himself, claiming he hasn’t seen her hair in weeks, so perhaps it was her trying to learn by herself.
the spirits decide that yeah, it was probably that.
but the patterns continue, and the braids don’t seem to be getting better. in fact, at one point loke swears he sees a singed end on a braid.
it is when he brings this up to virgo that they have a lightbulb moment. who else used fire in close proximity to lucy? their girl would never put her hair that close to fire voluntarily if it was at risked of being burned. so the singe could only have come from one source… natsu.
the next time lucy calls out virgo, virgo point blank asks about lucy’s hair.
“your hair has looked different lately mistress. have you been trying to do it yourself?”
lucy looks a bit embarassed, flushing before answering.
“oh.. well natsu said he’s been trying to learn how to braid because asuka said gray braided her hair before, and he wanted to beat gray at braiding so i’m letting him practice on me.”
virgo doesn’t really think that’s the case, but decides not to push further.
its clear that natsu really did want to touch lucy’s hair from the get go, but didn’t want her spirits knowing. they are a teasing, nosy bunch after all.
one night on a mission, Cancer comes out on his own accord to ask Lucy about their usual hair cut appt, but stops short when he sees her asleep, natsu gently brushing his calloused fingers through her hair while she snored softly. natsu looked absolutely content, a hint of a smile gracing his face—seemingly treating her hair with utmost care and thoughtfulness. his hands would make the patterns of a messy braid, before unraveling it and combing out tangles before repeating the process— his eyebrows scrunching in concentration at some points. it’s unlike anything he’s seen from natsu before.
well. he can always ask lucy about the haircut tomorrow.

Fated - mini update series
The day Lucy was born was notably the worst to occur in the history of the empire of Crocus. For their princess, their heir, was burdened with a curse.
Her soul was stained, claimed an oracle, stained and tainted by the mark of a demon.
How this came about, there was no one answer. Be it fate or the silent wish of a jealous witch, she was cursed.
And one day it would catch up, find her, steal her away, make her his bride. There was no avoiding this predestined fate, the scent of a demon not far behind her.
But it wasn’t as dark or foreboding as humans always thought when it came to demons and the underworld Tartaros.
It wasn’t a stain, but a half. Lucy bore half the soul of her destined love born at the precise moment she was.
Lucy was humbled and honored, a picture-perfect princess ever if there were one. She was kind and sweet to all, her smile a lasting image in everyone's thoughts.
The townspeople worshipped her and wished for her health and safety every day.
She grew to love books and learning, the world around her, and so much more. Lucy had a creative mind and found a hobby in everything she did, excited and curious for the world around her.
In the safety of her room at night, when the maids left her with a gentle peck on the forehead, she would read by candlelight. The only books unbefitting of a young royal later to rule her kingdom.
Books filled with romance and adventure. Books filled with the ideas of true love and daring princes. Books full of forbidden romance and the dream of something more.
No One
"And she doesn't need your permission to go out with someone, flame-brain." Gray reminds Natsu bitterly, then looks away. Wendy squeezes his shoulder with her small hands, reassures him that it's not over. Not yet.
Erza just glares from her seat across the table, "You should've thought all this before hurting her, I must say I'm very disappointed in you, Natsu."
Happy says, "Lucy did no wrong here," as he licks at his fish and doesn't even spare him a glance.
The dragon slayer remains silent. Because his friends are right. He is fucked. The words ring through his ears, the same words he had said to her that day.
And it breaks him from inside.
All it takes money, huh, to please you? Can't say I'm surprised though Luce, it's only natural for you.
He had really fucked up. Didn't he?
She hadn't shouted nor slapped him, which she should have by the way because that's what he deserves. The blonde had just gaped at him, tears running down her reddened cheeks. With that, she had run way without uttering a single word.
And Natsu honestly couldn't bring himself to face her, after all that he had done to his best friend. However he wasn't hoping to find the celestial mage at the public library, with the same guy sitting next to her.
What's his name again? Raven or Rave or whatever...
They were too close for his liking, talking and laughing about something he had no idea about nor he cared. It took him mere seconds to just stride over to the pair and grab the man by his collar and punch him in the face.
Stay fuckin' away from her, he snarled. But then his best friend pointed out that he is no one to bother, that he doesn't have any say in her decisions. It hurt, so badly that the dragon slayer almost forgot to breathe.
And she wasn't wrong. After all, who is he to care? Right, he is no one.
Morning Cup of Blonde
Just a (not so) little snippet of my coffee shop idea that I fall in love with more and more each day!

Natsu loved food. He loved eating it, he loved making it, and a lot of that probably had to do with his chef of a father. Along with this love of food came his extreme sense of smell. It came with many positives like being able to smell something burning from a mile away, but it also came with negatives like a sensitivity to overtly strong smells, including the smell of coffee.
It wasn’t like he chose to hate coffee. He just couldn’t drink it (let alone be in the same room as it) without scrunching his nose and getting a severe headache. That’s why if he could avoid it, he would not willingly set foot in a café. The only thing that could possibly drive him to enter one was the delicious food that a café could provide.
Well…that and his younger teenage sister with a coffee obsession that boardered on addiction.
“Natsuuu!” Wendy whined, trying to give him her best version of puppy-dog eyes that she possibly could. “Please! I’ll even do the dishes for you for the next week! Just please take me to get my coffee.”
While Natsu was currently partaking in what society called “higher education,” continuing to live with his parents was just more economical until he could find a cheap place to live. That was why he continued to wash dishes for them and help out around the house when he could, cooking when he knew neither of his parents had the time to.
Natsu groaned. He didn’t particularly mind doing dishes, but he wasn’t fond of doing them either. So, as he dragged his feet and made a much bigger fuss than he should have given his age, he said, “Okay, let’s go before I change my mind.” Sighing breathlessly with every word.
Natsu didn’t even have time to prepare himself before Wendy grabbed his hand and started dragging him into Fairy Tail, the current café of her choice. She tried coffee from different cafés almost regularly, something about giving places that weren’t Starbucks a chance. It was her thing, he supposed, like the way food was his.
• • • • •
It didn’t take Natsu long to find a seat where he could rest his head in peace as he tried to smell anything that wasn’t coffee, not even bothering to look around at the interior of the café. He raised his head slightly to keep an eye on Wendy, barely registering the dinging of the bell that signaled another person coming in.
“Hello!” someone said enthusiastically. Natsu turned his head slowly to follow the sound of the voice before his eyes widened dramatically.
He gave out a humorless chuckle. His headache must’ve gotten so bad that he was starting to hallucinate now because he swore that he was seeing an angel in front of him.
Her long, blonde hair cascaded down her back like strands of gold. She wore a brilliantly white summer dress that flowed and swayed with her small movements from talking and laughing with the barista. He could only see the side of her face, but her smile mesmerized him like no other could as his heart began to quicken its pace.
“Woah,” he mumbled.
Natsu didn’t know how long he blatantly stared from the pocket made from his arms and the table under them. It didn’t feel like very long; not like when time slowed as two people’s eyes met in the movies. He felt like he had only caught a glimpse of who this beautiful blonde was before someone was shouting “Wendy!” startling Natsu out of his thoughts.
Her turned his head towards where his sister was last standing, finding her staring at him with this knowing smirk as she wiggled her eyebrows and moved her eyes back and forth between him and the blonde. She stuck her chin up in an, “I caught you” kind of way before turning heel to get her coffee.
Natsu got up from his spot already heading towards the door as Wendy followed behind him, trying to hold in her laughter.
And that was how it started; that was how Natsu came to visit the coffee-scented café whenever he found the time to, all in hopes of seeing the lovely angel once again.

PS: Thanks so much to @etherious for the source - Here is the source of the art https://twitter.com/skytooo726/status/1563727605659906049
There's something about see-through shirts.
“Hey…is something wrong?”
“No, it’s nothing. I’m okay.
Thank you.”
I love this scene so much.
I bet after so much Adrienette and Ladynoir fluff in the previous episodes, I'm literally worried about Adrien's reaction when he learns Marinette is Ladybug. He's going to scream cry throw up stab himself with the knife set himself on fire roll on the floor jump through the window buy a suit for wedding burry himself alive
