IMPORTANT PSA FOR ALL SUPERJAIL FANS!! PLEASE READ!
I cannot stress this enough, but if you have an HBO Max subscription mainly for the Adult Swim content and know how to HD rip from streaming services properly, PLEASE consider preserving the entirety of Superjail off of the service before it leaves at the end of this month and put it up on a public space like Internet Archive or Google Drive. (August 31st)
Why am I asking for this? Ever since 2020, HBO Max has been the ONLY way to view the show in high quality and uncensored, unlike the DVDs (excluding season 2), digital purchase and the Adult Swim website where the show has remained censored and in 480p. And season 3 has so many major animated bits that had to be covered up to appease the Williams Street standards and practices department (guard dogs eating inmates AND each other, Alice groin bits, inmate snorting cocaine, and a really funny joke where the starving inmate drops an F-bomb at the near end of Nightshift), so to let the only way to view the show in how it was MEANT to be watched become lost media like that would just destroy me.
This whole thing has been bugging me ever since the month of August has rolled around.. while there could be a slight chance of hope that it gets renewed in time like what happened with ATHF, Home Movies and Samurai Jack back in May, it’s obviously very slim that Superjail will get renewed since the show is already appearing in HBO Max’s Last Chance section.. so, like I said before, SAVE SUPERJAIL’S UNCENSORED CUT. ALL FOUR SEASONS, EVERY EPISODE, THE ENTIRE THING. We CANNOT let such a unique show become lost in terms of its better version.
Also, I mainly recommend downloading all the episodes and saving them onto a hard drive since HBO Max doesn’t really take kindly to screen recording..
