I have been lurking for years… but I think I have found my voice.
I Just returned home of nationals and enough things rubbed me wrong that I needed to join the conversation.
Here are a few to start-
1-My ears are still bleeding from the gala. I love loud music but… damn
2-The camera angles on the stream are obnoxious and often create in appropriate and embarrassing image for the dancers. Like worse than the cookie guy everyone complains about. They also ruin choreography that is all planned out for a front audience. Team numbers are completely ruined as you can’t see half of the dancers.
3-How do we get transparency in the judging panels?
The dancesport model could help.
Or
it’s a live show let’s see there score immediately Olympic style or even dancing with the stars style.
4- props.
Prop set up time should be less than the total dance time if it’s not no score.
If the gimmick of the prop impedes the ability to critique the dancer, no score
