The specific humiliation of sharing your writing with someone and then watching them read it in front of you in real time. they pause. why did they pause. that was a bad pause. now they're nodding but what does the nod mean. now they look up and say "wow" and you need to know IMMEDIATELY what kind of wow that was. there are at least six different wows and only one of them is good and you have aged fourteen years waiting to find out which one.

Honestly less embarrassing to read it aloud to them. I have read my smut to friends because I'd rather they understand the tone, and inflection and oops there's a typo lemme just read what that was supposed to be then sit there and watch them silently read it.

Terrible Chapter summary:

Nigel appeals to Carrie for help on his pitch and makes an ASMR video to destress. Stanley listened to an ASMR video to fall asleep, and still ends up drinking coffee, or at least tries to.

Amazing fic summary:

Stanley would sleep a hell of a lot better if the book publishing company he worked for wasn't constantly on the edge of going bankrupt, his best friend's wedding wasn't two weeks away, and his (hate to admit it) good looking coworker Nigel wasn't always on his ass about something. But that's life.

At least he doesn't have to worry about romance, right?

Summary: Office AU, Enemies to lovers, Fake dating Stanley/Narrator, Mariella/Curator.

Stanley would sleep a hell of a lot better if the book publishing company he worked for wasn't constantly on the edge of going bankrupt, his best friend's wedding wasn't two weeks away, and his (hate to admit it) good looking coworker Nigel wasn't always on his ass about something. But that's life.
