Wedding culture is so dumb and pointlessly stressful and petty… and actually having to attend these weddings is absolutely boring and unenjoyable. Just throw a cool party with all the people you care about and have a good time. At my wedding we had a potluck and then jumped off of cliffs into the water with our dress clothes on. We roasted marshmallows and my brother played sound of silence on his guitar. It cost about $250 total. Don’t feel pressured to spend THOUSANDS of dollars just because pretentious people think you need to.
