can i please bring ur attention to shouto’s face here and the fact hes probably stressed bc an entire crowd is yelling and are very, very angry, and he’s standing in front of his abuser and a lot of bad memories may or may not be coming back to him bc an entire fucking crowd is yelling towards his direction and he just wants to feel safe he wants his friends to feel safe and he just wants them to stop being so upset

I’m more inclined to believe that this expression is due to the injustice that Izuku is dealing with. A big part of Shouto’s character is that he hates to standby silently and isn’t afraid of speaking up for what he believes in (see: Hosu) and as Shouto’s first friend, Izuku is important to him.

This isn’t a trauma response from him, he’s frustrated and angry at the situation and feeling like he can’t do anything to help.

It took me until today’s episode to realize that the cat room was surrounded by bamboo.

Like there was always the visual symbolism of the bamboo looking like a cage in that Eden image. But knowing that the Cat’s Room is literally surrounded by bamboo just adds another layer of ouch to it all.
