watched too many childhood nostalgia web weave tiktoks what if i stay up all night in a pitch black room playing mario party ds under the covers and shoving my ds under the pillow whenever i hear footsteps. what if i read an entire chapter book in one night by the light of a flashlight and return it to the library the next day just to see the incredulous look on the librarian's face when i tell her i enjoyed it very much. what if it starts to rain and we go inside to towel off and your mom gets us lemonade and chocolate chip cookies and listens as we tell her all about our imaginary world where we're grown up and have an apartment and a cat and a job and a car. i would pay attention this time. i would appreciate it.
